06-09 Impala SS 5.3 LS4 Pickup Tube O-Ring Replacement

This video is a thorough tutorial on how to replace the pickup tube o-ring (oil pump seal) without having to completely drop the subframe. This will also work for 05-08 Grand Prix GXP, 06-07 Monte Carlo SS, and 08-09 Lacrosse Super. I have an 2008 GXP with 92,000 miles. I checked the oil pressure with a scan tool. It was 45 psi at warm idle.

It’s basically identical to this vehicle to you’ll have to drop the subframe and pull the pan, clean the area and replace the gasket and reinstall

Yeah that bolt is a pain. I had to try out multiple swivels, extensions and 10mm sockets to get it out
