Just picked one up a couple of weeks ago. As someone that's always been interested in sampling and electronic music but felt pretty intimidated about where to start the PO-33 has been such a great in for me! Your videos have also been a massive help making sense of it and made me so excited about learning more and trying other gear.
In addition to all the good points you mentioned, the PO-33 is also great because it samples in 8bit. In addition to giving everything a great crunchy noise, I find that the low sample rate "glues" all the different sounds together really well, which saves a ton of time on mixing. One of my favorite songs I've ever released was made on the PO-33. A great sampler!
Its also cheaper... but exactly the same! 😀 and for me the screen is clearer to understand. I dont know about you, but when I was learning the knockout I found the characters on screen a bit confusing sometimes 😅
The PO-33 just shows that there is a market for small lo-fi sampler/groove boxes. If it had better build quality and audio in/out/monitor (and midi in) it will be perfect.
Yes! Definitely get one. If you read this and dont have a po33 or 133 get one get one get one get TWO then you can re sample and have half your track playing on while the other half of the mix has effects played on top
I have mixed feelings about PO-33. I really like the sequencer, the overall character of the sound, and some of the FX. But I do find it a bit fiddly to use and I wish there was a scale mode for the melodic samples, like there is on the PO-35. Being limited to chromatic is really quite restrictive. I also think they could have used the screen for something more useful than the animation of the two boxers. I wish it, and all other POs, had a proper case as well, I would gladly pay a bit more if they had a proper enclosure. I'm using a 3D printed case which I prefer to any of the other cases I've seen for sale
i rly want to love this little thing but it’s hard when koala sampler makes the same thing so much easier to do. I know the limitations can be what make it fun but i tend to go to koala first. I’ve only had my po33 since Christmas but haven’t made a beat on it yet
Koala is a cool app but I spend way to much time on my phone already. I would hate for it to be the place I make beats too...also I don't have an iPad! I did think about completely switching to koala at one point but I like little devices like this which you can just completely lose yourself in and not be interrupted by notifications etc!
@@spvidz Hey you are exactly right about that! But if in a next iteration they gave us wave forms to chop like older mpc’s and it’s a wrap! 😂 wishful thinking on that little ass screen i know but i can wish…maybe make iphone pro max sized 🤷🏾♂️
Nice video! Can you tell me if there’s a difference between the PO-133 and this? Still debating on getting the PO-33 but not sure if the 133 can do the same thing..

Great to hear you're having fun with it! I'll be posting some more tutorials and tips about it soon too :)
The PO-33 is nearly all I use! It’s an incredible little sampler capable of all genres!
Gar is a magician with this thing ! 👍
@@heybail8466 thanks for the love! I’ve been interested in expanding to the SP404 or another sampler!
Yes Gar Hoover is really dope on the po!
Really dig your content and these short videos are pretty rad! Cheers!
Thanks for the support man!

I should have added that in yeah! Thanks for sharing man!
hands down my favourite sampler, I love the PO-133 too
Cool seeing so many people say this!

lol they've never really bothered me too much tbh but a few people in the comments have said the same!

Ppl have said its kinda like an SP202 but with a different workflow, idk since I dont own an SP202

Two would be dope!
Love my po33! There are some great custom cases on etsy, well worth it!
Yeah I really need to pick one up. I'm lagging so bad with getting a case lol

It is what it is for the price. There are definitely more features it could have and yeah I really need to sort out getting a case for mine!
I love mine, I prefer the grit to my SP202 and the effects are sick 🔥
Yeah the fx are surprisingly powerful and I love how they stay in sync
The KO is such a great piece of gear!
I've found a new level of love for it since picking it up again
I love mine! I use it mostly to remix my own beats!
Ily bro thank you :)
yeah...it's definitely worth it!!!

Being able to see waveforms would be dope tbf!

I'm pretty sure the only difference is the branding and it comes loaded with a bunch of different sounds which are street fighter themed!
Are you British per chance?
I am yes
