Em São Paulo, seria parecido. Sou paulista e , quando fui pra Europa fiz questão de não passar em Portugal, por estas histórias de "preconceito contra brasileiros", hoje me arrependo e vejo que são mais mal entendidos culturais, e conheci muitos portugueses na internet que gostei muito. Sobre os EUA, a culpa é dos professores de história, que tendem a ser muito criativos sobre eles, assim como essa história do ouro com Portugal. Sobre as estranhezas da comida chinesa, e confundir com o Japão (no caso dos terremotos) é igual em todo lugar.
Em geral brasileiros sabem pouco sobre outros países, e não tem a ver sempre com condição social, pois muitos da classe média alta só viajam pra Disney , Miami e algumas capitais da Europa Ocidental.

I'm a Danish citizen who has been to 25 of the Brazilian states. And I would say that Nordeste has the best people by far. For sure a place like Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul has nice people too. But these are the places in Brazil where I met the most arrogant and racist people.

As a brazilian i'm very surprised that nobody said Argentina. For me, Argentina is by far the country that i hate the most. EVERY futball match that we go to there or even when they come to here, always there's a lot of argentinians who are racist against us, calling us monkey and whatever.
