    It all depends what market you are in. I drive in Boise ID and there is no way any driver is going to make $1900 a week.

      It can be done, if you do it right. Look at my video... you need a combo of driving, hitting bonuses, attracting tips, and recruiting pax and drivers: th-cam.com/video/fCtWkfDFeug/w-d-xo.html I hit $2400 in my best week. Many weeks got over $1800 with just a Prius and lots of motivation and activity (before the % raise in 2018 for Los Angeles drivers -- I made this during the slump).

    Great video
    I live in Palm Springs and my weekly average is about 1800 to 2000
    That’s about 50 hours and about 100 rides
    Not bad at all, the trick is to stay consistent.
    Five to six days a week 8 to 10 hours a day.
    Also the driving hours vary during the week and during the weekend.

    I drive in LA and San Francisco, and you can only make a potential $1900 in San Francisco. In LA you're lucky to make $1000. With gas prices at $3.43 a gallon right now you can expect to make less per week.

    I make about 1500 a week driving 50-60 hrs a week in Dallas. It’s very possible 9-12 hour days and I do the Uber rental car program so I take home about 1000-1100 dollars after I pay the 293 plus 90 dollars in tolls a week on top of 80 bucks for gas a week.

    Uber/lyft is too inconsistent to rely on this formula. Sometimes you can average $10 a ride and sometimes it’s $3-4 a ride. It’s really luck of the draw.

      Pretty soon, you and all the other Lyft and Uber drivers will be well trained enough to work for a company that doesn't cover you for accidents at work, though you drive for a living and cover 1000 miles a week; dental care or health care; or provide paid time off, performance bonuses, or opportunities for promotion. Oh, wait...

I got one person wanting me to take them out of the zone to their job which was good but couldn’t make it back to zone in 10mins 😡I’m going to stick with my overnight driving.

      Everybody wants to make good money, take vacations, and have positive experiences... however...
      Jay forgot to tell you that he gets well over a dollar per mile regular driver rate, so if you are making .7350 cents per mile, and there are no bonuses, or any surge in your area, then you will make perhaps half of what he makes, and oh, did you notice that he is working a seven day week, and putting TONS of WEAR and TEAR on his vehicle.
      Jay has a Prius, but it still uses fuel, so how much of that $4+ a gallon California gas did he purchase to make that gross payout?
      Better system...do like me, and eliminate most of the bills that you can, so that you can work a three day week and still pay all of your recurring bills, have a surplus disposable income, and take time off to relax, recreate, and de-stress.
      Perhaps you are lucky enough to be retired, or semi retired, than maybe you can pay all your recurring bills with social security payments, a 401k, or 403b, and/or a pension if you are so lucky, and just use Uber/Lyft to supplement your retirement pay, while driving a few hours, just a few days a week.
      A lot of retired military guys are still very young after they retire, and they receive a military pension, so doing some Uber and Lyft rides on your own limited schedule can work great.
      Finally, can you imagine having to drive 7 to 10 hours every day of the week, and getting out on the road at 6AM rush hour like the rest of the sheep?
      The Uber 12 hour driving limit, (a/k/a the Jay Cradeur Rule), was created to prevent drivers like Jay, and Rideshare Revolution from this senseless, never ending, non-stop driving.
      I also have to ask incredulously...Why would anyone want to go out and drive during rush hour? ?
      Isn't that the whole reason for Rideshare, so you can set your own schedule, and avoid rush hour, and most traffic?
      Don't be a sheep, (BAAAAAA), or even worse a Lemming! (Lemming noise!)
      I am often woken up by the sound of people in my neighborhood, who like Jay, are slamming car doors, and starting car engines, as they are rush out to work, eager to get into huge traffic jams at the crack of dawn.
      Good thing I can usually roll over, and go back to sleep. LOL
      INSTEAD... Go to the beach, pool, fishing, hiking, the park, the gym, during the week, or perhaps just relax at home with a few good cups of coffee like me!

    It depends on the city! Dallas is about .65 per mile. You will not make that there. You can make this in CA, Portland, and a few other states that pay more than a dollar per mile.

  • @DGSLudgate
    @DGSLudgate 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Jay - You don't "Earn" $1,900 per week, you "Gross" $1,900 per week. The real question is, how many miles did you put on your car to give 176 rides? At $0.30 per mile, you easily incurred $450 to $600 in expenses.
    Please post all the details, including time and mileage incurred with dead miles.

  • @beraberg
    @beraberg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Only in SF and like markets can you make that amount. I uberrd in SF for a year and made $1700-2000/week with many 2k weeks. That is when they were giving out $500/week bonuses .. hourly guarantees etc.. I did it m-f, 120 rides, 37-40 hrs and barely worked weekends. In other cities where there are no bonuses or incentives or little to no surge... You have to drive 60+ hrs to make $1,000-1,200/week.
    Don't need a big explanation how to make money in SF.. it was a no brainier.

    • @TrueLoveNetwork
      @TrueLoveNetwork 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anyone driving 60+ hours a week and covering an average 1000 miles for Uber and or Lyft will not actually have any savings, due to their being uncontracted, underinsured, no pension benefit, no health claims, no sick days "partners" who risk losing their life, driving license, insurance, or worse, every time they drive for Uber or Lyft. After actual Uber or Lyft fees, depreciation, gas, insurance, maintenance, healthcare, salary, and other costs (tickets, unexpected expenses), it is possible that the average driver living in an average city will make far less than minimum wage. If this is true, rideshare companies won't be exactly keen to share this information with their shareholders.

    Like all things, your mileage may vary depending on market, weather and luck of the pings.
    In the Denver market I generally make $900-1200 in revenue per week. In a really good week with awful weather I might hit $1500 but then I’m also having to deal with all the fools who don’t know how to drive in the snow...I’m talking to you fellow Uber and Lyft drivers.
    Generally I work 6:00AM - 7:00PM on Monday. I stay out of the airport queue until early afternoon. $250-300 is common but not guaranteed. This past Monday I only generated $210.
    Tuesday I work the same schedule but the money is usually less, $200-250. This has been a slow week so I only generated $155 in revenue.
    Wednesdays tend to be slow. I’ll start out at the same time but if it’s not happening I’ll bail and do something else. This week I took a goose egg on Wednesday.
    Thursday seems to be feast or famine with some being $300-400 and others being under $100. This week was $80 for 5 trips in 6 hours. Sucked.
    Friday is usually a solid day with lots of airport traffic. This week the queue was huge and moving slowly. $160 revenue via the app but lucked into two $20 cash tips from riders whose fares were both under $30. Nothing but luck there.
    I usually don’t drive late night but decided to jump back into the abyss yesterday (Saturday) and I quickly remembered why I quite driving the drunk rush. 7.5 hours online, $190 in app revenue and one $5 cash tip. At least no one puked in my car.
    Today ( Sunday ) I’m in the airport queue after my first ride took me to the airport. Logged in at 10:00AM and didn’t get my first ping until 11:00. Turned a $4 ride into a $33 + $5 tip ride after chatting with my pax and found out she needed to head straight to the airport after fetching her bags at her hotel. I had her change the destination and then waited about 7 minutes for her to get her bags. I’ll take that kind of opportunity any day.
    I’m currently sitting at $829 app revenue for the week plus my cash tips. With 7 more rides I’ll pick up a $40 quest bonus. I should finish the week with $950 app revenue plus my cash tips. If I get lucky I’ll go over $1000.
    Next week is another week and hopefully I’ll hit the $1200 revenue mark.
    FYI every week I put $50 into a maintenance reserve account and throw an extra $50 at my car note. On the day my loan payment is due I pay it plus an extra $50. That keeps me from going upside down on the loan so I can always get out of my car if need be.
    I save a ton of money by doing 90% of my own maintenance and repair work. That’s a benefit of growing up in the 70’s with a bunch of gearhead friends.
    $1900 weekly isn’t realistic in most markets but you can always make more if you approach this business as a business and not as a part time job.
    There’s my ping, time to go.
    Be safe out there.

  • @bernieflores6350
    @bernieflores6350 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I will be honest here,I don’t make that kind of money in my market. I drive part time, with a lot of hustle and strategy and my prayers to God for a blessed great day, I can average $400.00 a week in 20 hrs. That’s 5 hrs a day and 4 days a week. And it’s only part time that I do this. Sometimes in one day I can average $200.00 in 10 hrs and my strategy is simple. I drive around cities that are busy with people more likely to travel far away like to the airports and hotels and I drive early in the morning at 3:00 am more likely to get people from there jobs and take them 30 minutes driving to their homes or from a casino and take them to their home that’s 1 hour away and no matter what city I am I always check the air ports and stay there for more longer rides. And that’s what I do.

    HI, sorry but up here in Ottawa Canada, whether you're in Lyft or Uber. . . tips do NOT come that often. I'm typically a 4.97 rated driver on average, and the best I can do, or rather, the best I've been able to do, is a 40% average. That is to say, that if I get 10 rides, 4 people will tip. I don't know why, but people up here are just not tipping people. Don't get me wrong here, people do tip, just not very many will. Maybe it has to do with the income average, I have no idea. Maybe in San Fran where you are, the income av is better I believe, so it would stand to reason I guess.

    I don't think you can make $1900 per week just driving Uber X and Lyft Classic. I drive both in Dallas, TX. On a good day, busy day, I can get 25 rides per day and make about $200. But in the summer when the market is flooded with college students home from school, I've only been getting 10-15 rides. I've only been making about $500-600 per week and that's working part-time for a pool company. However, in the peak Fall through Spring season, I regularly make $700-800 per week. I'm buying a Luxury Sedan at the end of the year and since it will be a 2015-2016 car, I will then qualify for Power Driver Bonus if it is in Dallas at all, which I can't find any info on the web. At least this way I can draw from Uber Select, Lyft Lux and Lyft Lux Black, and of course, Uber X and Lyft Classic when it is slow. I think Jay's point is not so much how YOU can make $1900 per week, but what you can do to be a disciplined driver to increase your income! I recently started driving for Lyft as my car was not eligible due to the age of the car But that changed recently, so I can now drive Lyft. But, I've noticed that in most cases it is 10:1 Uber: Lyft ratio. Some days are slightly higher for Lyft. But he is right, I find that Lyft fares are generally higher and the payout is higher, except for minimum type rides which suck! Lyft pax generally do not like Uber, and sometimes I can't blame them!

    I am calling BS, show bank statements that show a deposit of every single week $1900 of only driving UberX or regular Lyft, especially in CA. I have never seen anyone in CA make $1900 every single week, just look at how many TH-camrs live in CA and complain about the pay, do you think they could complain if they were making this type of money. Stop feeling people with false hopes.

    This might work in your area, but not everywhere. Uber and Lyft don't have bonuses that high in my area. I've heard some people in this area do Uber/Lyft full time and they work 10-12 hours 7 days a week to earn enough. I drive part time, Friday and Saturday evenings/nights for 8-8 hours and manage $140-$170 on average. Some times I'm lucky and break $200. Your tips don't work in the Lehigh Valley.

    So pretty much dedicate your life to driving. Drive during the worst times and places to drive (peak rides.) You say stay out of the traffic, but the peak rides are during hours with the heaviest traffic. You can not net $1900 a week (in Los Angeles) without dedicating most of your life to ride sharing. Please be realistic. Drivers (in Los Angeles/Orange county) will be very disappointed when they try what you're saying in this video.

    Something is fishy here. If you look at his ride payments only from LYFT. They equal about $1298. Based upon him working 37.5 hours he averaged $34.61 per hour. Based upon the screenshot he shows us he gave an average of 3.5 rides per hour. The 3.5 rides per hour sure is a head scratcher. I looked at what his average amount he was making per ride and compared both LYFT and Uber‘s and they are quite close. Something just doesn’t add up here. I’m generally not a conspiracist, but this has me wondering if this channel is just a clever marketing tool for LYFT to promote drivers staying on it’s platform. Looking at what the rates are in San Francisco and doing my calculation without taking into consideration primetime earnings, at $0.192 per minute and $1.064 per mile, it’s physically impossible to make this amount per hour in a city like San Francisco with the high traffic it has. Also, if this were the case, Uber would have no drivers because all drivers would wanna be driving for lyft. It is true I don’t understand the San Francisco market, but something just doesn’t add up here. He must be doing mostly LYFT lux rides.

  • @armandog724
    @armandog724 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    This is not even close to been possible when the average trip is 5 miles and you earn only $3.75 per trip, I did the math and I don't see how he can make $200 for 20 trips? that will be an average of about $10 per trip provided that he is on each trip longer than 12 miles in order to be able to accomplish that, speaking of time driving and traffic his 7 hours will not be able to accomplish these amount of trips. On the other hand, Lyft customer's base is so low and so distance from UBER quantity wise that by the time you wait for a call from lyft you have 5 calls from UBER something does not make sense here. It is a nice motivational presentation for new UBER drivers but is more of a dream come true than reality. No one makes $1,900 a week unless you are doing UBER Black and unless you are doing only long airport trips from large cities like NYC. I am sorry Jen nice presentation.

      @@vickiepearson5345 note that he says he gets to within one block, starts the trip (which yes UBER does not like) that lets him see the destination, then cancels if it takes him out of a profitable zone. So he's cherry picking in a sense.
