I'm a college freshman this year., having to experience my classes on zoom and through Canvas, despite desperately wishing I could be in a classroom. I am someone who will be voting for the first time on Tuesday, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. In the past week, I have experienced grief and sadness, and loss, as well as immeasurable happiness. I am currently sitting on the floor of my dorm room listening to this and absorbing it. I am going to make it through this year, even if it kills me.

I was lucky enough to see Mountain Goats last year in London. Great gig, well worth the 6+ hours of driving. This song was my theme to last year after losing a few family members and my own health issues. This year, it's still just as apt.

The Sunset Tree is probably my favorite album I've heard from The Mountain Goats. It was the first one I listened to and it had some songs I could relate to more than some of their other albums.
