    I've been taking Chinese lessons, but I was having trouble with pronunciation and daily context. I've spent a lot of timing watching your channel, and following along with the pinyin and hearing your pronunciation is SO helpful. Your explanations are clear and easily understandable. These phrases and expressions are extremely useful for me. I hear most of them daily from my coworkers and students, and now I know the meaning and context. Thank you, for your channel and hard work! It's sincerely helped me in my studies.

    This specific lessons are truly helpful. I like how you breakdown each expression and provide its meaning in English. Also having the option to pause the video gives me time to study each character and pronunciation. Thank you so much Miss Grace

    Apparently, it's speculated that English "long time no see" (好久不見) comes from Cantonese 好耐冇見. It probably entered English through US Chinatowns or directly from British Hong Kong!

    True story. When I was in Taiwan for 6 months I ordered food in a restaurant in 二林 in 彰化. The waitress asked me "你来台湾多久?" and I said "6个月" and she said "厉害!" Years later I ordered food in a restaurant in Taichung and the waitress asked me "你来台湾多久?" and I said "6年" and she said "原来如此!"

    Hi Grace, I really like your videos and like to take notes on them and copy down the sentences. Could you combine pinyin if two morphemes make a word? It would help me differentiate between single syllable words and words with multiple syllables. For example, in your videos, you would display "míngtiān" as "míng tiān," which is confusing. Thank you!

    • @GraceMandarinChinese
      @GraceMandarinChinese  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally Fake I’m glad you like the videos! Thank you for the suggestion, but because I use a specific way to add Pinyin on Chinese characters, it can only do it that way. So I’m sorry I can’t combine them together :(
