Great weekend detecting, another first in finds for me was a rare Charles I coin weight. Also put in some pictures of the cleaned up finds making up The Bedale Viking Hoard.

@@Janhyooz I would love to see something like that. I've been fascinated by history and Vikings in particular since childhood. You may not remember me but I'm the one that taught you how to brighten up copper coins using white vinegar and salt. That was a few years back and I'm still really enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work.
@@haynerbass Hello, mate, yes I did remember the name but unfortunately not the context, old age creeping up fast. Still use the vinegar and salt though. There are something like 12 Viking hoards on display in York museum and they also have the Jorvik Viking centre in York, absolutely fascinating. Hello, mate, thanks, I really do get some excellent finds from Yorkshire, however, have to say the hoard was NOT my find but was found by my friends Stuart and Steve. Met these two guys a few years ago on a detecting trip to the Isle of Wight, a few weeks after they found their hoard and they invited me over to Yorkshire to detect with them. I've been going back several times a year ever since, hoping to find a hoard like theirs, lol. Nearest I came was to see their hoard on show in York Museum. Awesome. Wind is a real issue, very hard to follow the up and down If you are using an Iphone wrap a thin sheet of sponge around it and try to speak towards the mike.
Hi James, agree with the wind issue and I do try to generally keep my back to the wind but it doesn't always work. I use a Canon camera with a built in mike so using a muffler is not really an option.
