Friedman’s lines & bends are brilliant & also why he’s so unique. Every solo on Rust IN Peace is perfection. The only album I’ve ever felt like that was Diary of a Madman.
You're knocking it out of the park, David! Another fantastic lesson. I love that you changed the albums from second heat and rust in peace depending on which guitarist you were covering.
That game show was Rock Fujiyama, Marty's own TV show that ran for several years. It centered around guitar games with celebrity guests like Kerry King and Herman Li.
Can't get enough of these two players! I think have been working for years on technical difficulties. Thanks David! Cool lesson. Made me pick up my guitar right again after my practice session was over :D
That "game show" is either Hebimeta San or Rock Fujiyama. Both hosted by none other than Marty Friedman. That's his show! Paul is a guest there like every other episode, but Kerry King was there as well. Great fun to watch and on youtube!
Great lesson! I love particularly the Bach-esque lick. Maybe a Rob Marcello feature would be good continuation of this „LNL modern shredders series“ ;)
Hi Great lesson..I notice your rackmount unit also blinks like the old one...again Id love to see a lesson on Ron Wood..he was a huge influence on a lot of guitar players with the FACES,, and ive never seen anbody play the intro to Miss Judy correctly..Great channel...Thanks...Dave
Always excellent lessons very insightful. Looking forward to the next by the way the rack mount behringer I haven't seen one of those in years, I have one as well nice to see you go to some old equipment that still sounds pretty good. Although everyone knows it's in the hands and how you attack the strings
hey man i am frenchy from normandy next to Rouen , i try to translate everyhing you say but it's difficult to me to understand you sometimes but i hear what you play and i see your fingers, that is not too bad , i love your chanel , continue with this in mind i totally like it. fred
Yes make a video lesson just focusing only on paul gilberts scalar sequencing patterns he used with scales. I'm trying to learn more scale sequencing from paul gilbert, George lynch, marty friedman, randy rhoads, etc.
Hey Dave great content as always! I love your videos and the way you teach all these techniques and chords. I was wondering if you could do an episode on 38 Special? Would love to see it!
Thanks, David for another amazing stuff! Jeff Waters from Annihilator also has some killer licks, don't you consider to make a lesson dedicated his playing?
Two of my most favorite guitarists and influences. Love it! How's that Berhinger preamp working out for you? You should try to find a used Digitech preamp from the 90's, like a 2102 or 2120. I wish you would've posted the link to this video. I'd like to see it.
The Paul Gilbert, Bach section is an excerpt from Prelude to Bach's fifth fugue from the Well Tempered Clavier ( I think). TH-cam vid @ th-cam.com/video/hKSJ1-c4k94/w-d-xo.html
ive been coming up with lots of hybrid pentatonic, chromatic, arpegiated, classical, hybrid (scales) licks like an idiot sevant lately and they are all musically correct.. i wish i could sit with you for a while and show you. you could really flesh out my ideas and use them for your late night lessons. im not as skilled as you but i can play pretty decently at least halfway decent i think. been playing for about 35 years but i dont read music or know theory but i know how to play what sounds correct to mine and other people ear. im not tone deaf at all. ive been working on a way to use only passing notes outside of the pentatonic scales and only using the main emphasis notes in the pentatonic and flamenco to mix all 3 ideas together for a real bluesy, flamenco(spanish or harmonic minor heavy on the blues and chromatic where you can hear the harmonic minor influence. im 50 years old now and i didnt have the chance to make my musical dreams to happen although i think i really couldve possibly made it happen when i was younger and had the drive and was more skilled then but if i could leave this skill or idea behind when my time is up then that would be a great accomplishment. my mark on the world.
Regardless of what Dave Mustaine says about Marty Friedman, he was the best lead guitar player in Megadeth ... listen to the recordings with Marty and then listen to the recordings with the others ... night and day difference ... Chris Broderick is an insane player but his leads always seem to be off in someway or another ... love the content !!!
Yes we both huge fans of paul & marty 🤝

Thanks for the lesson. Glad you ran with these two guys. Two of the best.
Thanks for doing this. I love that show and Marty is unbelievable player. Maybe you can do another video analyzing Marty's playing on that show :)
You're like a guitar lick jukebox. Should probably record these wearing a cape 🤘
Hell yeah!!!! This is awesome David!! Loved watching the Japanese guitar show. Back years ago. Rock Fujiyama!!!
That game show was Rock Fujiyama, Marty's own TV show that ran for several years. It centered around guitar games with celebrity guests like Kerry King and Herman Li.

Amazing touch and sound! The best!!
You make 2020 so much cooler. Thank you!

Freaked Me out to
Great lesson and a very cool way of twisting the blues scale and some really cool ways to bend
Can't get enough of these two players! I think have been working for years on technical difficulties.

Thanks David, Thanks Donovan.
Thanks for this lesson. This is a great choice.
Another excellent lesson! Nice riff choices. New rig sounds great. Called the work week an hour early to check it out. :)
Great lesson! I love particularly the Bach-esque lick.

I still own Marty"s exotic scales VHS....great amd timeless material until today
Had all his VHS tapes back in the day had 1 Marty but Paul was my guy
David is the first guitarist having the same left hand ease, that I’ve ever seen in 30 years, after Steve Vai.
Thanks, David for another amazing stuff!
Jeff Waters from Annihilator also has some killer licks, don't you consider to make a lesson dedicated his playing?
I love these man, and really digging you channel. Could you break down some Isaiah Mitchell/Earthless licks?
Two of my most favorite guitarists and influences. Love it!

Qué grande Santiago Segura dedicándose a la guitarra eléctrica (?)
I watched your pick hand only...it's like you were knitting a sweater...lol... how/when did you establish this technique of picking?

Post your licks and ideas on your channel

You changed the album cover from racer x to megadeth half way thru!
Is he Shredding on an Es 335?
At first I thought it was one of those John Scofield signature models, but I think it's a '70s Ibanez "Artist."
:)
What's your facebook page called?
BIG IN JAPAN is a great guano apes song.....
But are you a huge fan? That's what we need to know
