    What if youre right eye dominant but youre left handed? Does this still apply? Or would I do something a left eye-right hand dominant person would do when serving?

    Patrick, how can a coach identify if a student should foot back or foot up? Of course "testing" is the best way but lets think on a student that is beginning to understand serving concepts...

    • @colossaltennis
      @colossaltennis ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not Patrick but in my career I’ve often found that the best place to start is with the platform (foot back) technique as it promotes balance and it’s a little easier to learn the twist and tilt rotations rotations needed in the loading phase of the serve. If you go to the foot up technique too earlier you will increase speed but you may sacrifice the correct loading mechanics needed to reach top speeds, create different spins and increase consistency

    In order to teach a shot correctly, how champions do it, an excellent Coach should first know how to do it correctly, if this does not happen, it means that there is a problem. Because the Coach should be able both to teach but also to imitate the gesture of each champion, and also recognize the difference between the various types of gestures of the champions, which apparently seem similar, but that there are substantial differences to recognize. So there is no correct gesture "universal" for everyone as Mouratoglou would like to teach but there are various types of backhand. Therefore, Tsitsipas' backhand cannot be taught, if first one does not know how to recognize the difference (and one does not KNOW HOW TO PERFORM it), with the backhand of Gasquet or Federer himself. There is only one way, that an excellent Coach can either TEACH, but above all PERFORM, the shot of the champion, it will be only through the study of HIS OWN gesture, in this case the backhand, through the Slow-motion Camera, therefore it will be necessary someone take back Coach Mourotoglou For example: One thing that is clearly noticeable in the gesture that our friend Coach makes is that he is wrong to hold the racket on the handle too high, this will prevent him from total rotation and flexibility of the wrist, without overtightening the handle, which he does instead , which the 3 champions mentioned before do not do and then there are many other small mistakes that he makes by showing his backhand. Finally, a good teacher may be able to teach an excellent Coach (even Mourutogu himself), a perfect gesture. I can do it to him, through my Method, that of teaching at the Wall (I'm the only one in the world who does it) or even published a book entitled "The first Manual of Tennis at the Wall" with the work that he will perform at the Wall, with the camera nearby, which he will film, in this case Mouratoglou in order to immediately correct his mistake by now "crystallized" in him, precisely through the correct repetitiveness shots against the wall (a fundamental element) to be able to think about modifying or better rectifying a shot. A tennis instructor must above all be someone who knows how to "repair" a gesture rather than teaching it in an academic way as all the instructors do. If Mouratoglou wanted it, I could undertake to teach him how to do it and how to do the backhand of the Champions, in this case, in an identical way to Tsitsipas or Gasquet. If you want, you can contact me. Rinaldo Massone rinaldomassone@alice.

      It would be nice to think he offers free scholarships to talented kids from not so well off backgrounds. Tennis is invariably full of youngsters from wealthy families, that's for sure.
