Speak Spanish Faster i have 3 weeks off of school because of the Corona you should do video about how to learn when you have a lot of free time like during the summer i also have a lot of free time at my job i can listen to music for 6 hours a day while i am doing work so i want to learn spanish during that time
Hey, Rocky, could you do a video about pronounced? I have plateau-ed for years, and one of the things with which I have a problem is pronoun confusion.
Mistakes truly are progress. At my first job, when I was a waitress at a Chinese buffet, I used to ask Spanish families "¿Que quieres beber? For "what would you like to drink?" And in English I would be asked "You sell beer here?" And I would smile and say "No we don't" I wasn't ashamed, but I would just continue to practice and listen to what the parents would say to their children. Over time I learned the correct word is "¿Que quieres TOMAR?" ❤ I was there from 16 to 18 years old picking up different common phrases that I still know today. But I haven't practiced Spanish outside of that time. I'm 30 now. It is STILL my DREAM to speak Spanish fluently *❤😅
this may or may not cross anyone's feed but i've been learning spanish since i was 12 and i'm now 18. the fear of saying things wrong caused me not to say them at all and no practice led to me forgetting everything. a little over 6 months ago i made a friend and he moved from Puerto Rico 5 years ago fluent in English and Spanish and it became obvious how much of a " Gringa " i was. most of the conversations he had on the phone i cant understand and not that id need to but it would be nice to connect with him where he feels safe and at home. and yesterday around 2 am i stumbled across "how to talk Spanish with a Puerto rican" and i decided its never to late or to long to pick it up again and in 24 hours words and phrases are coming back to me like i never stopped. and i hope to surprise him with it next time he comes over. i guess all this is to say don't give up and don't be afraid.
Hi, I am looking for a partner to practice my english who wants to learn spanish, we can help each other to learn a new language and i promise i'll speak slower hahah
My husband is from Puerto Rico and I feel like I miss out on so much when he and our children speak in Spanish. I can understand quite a bit sometimes I can’t respond. I am so glad I found your videos to help me learn to speak Spanish properly and not my super broken version.
I have always wanted to be fluent en español but never put forth the effort to learn it. I just recently started a new job and the most precious Hispanic girl works in my department (she speaks English and Spanish very well) then another started in my department (she speaks very little English) then her sister started! (Also speaks very little English) all three of them are such sweet people so I am trying my damnest to learn Spanish! Everyday, piecing together their conversations get easier and easier! Plus it’s just a very good skill to have!
Hi Claire! I just came across your message and I found it very inspiring. I'm a Spanish teacher and I can really tell that now that you found your intrinsic motivation, everything will be easier to achieve your goals. All the best for you! If you need any tips or help let me know. Spanish is a wonderful language to learn
Mike Woods do you have any Spanish restaurants or supermarkets nearby? Start asking for stuff. There is a book that has helped me called, 501 Spanish verbs to learn the tenses. And this guy is a great help, along with Bilingual Blogs, too. I also prayed for God to help me, and boom, I got Scriptures to translate into Spanish.
I've been doing my self study about Spanish language during this pandemic and I've found out that Tagalog/Filipino(language in the Philippines) has a lot in common with Spanish words. Likewise, it kinda easier for me to pronounce the words specially those with R. This can be a good sign that I'd be able to learn the language.
So does Ukrainian! Not in terms of the sounds / syllable combinations (radically different), but the actual literal translations for things like "what is your name?" being "how are you called?" and things like "how many" being different word combos than English using "how" more widespread (how many, how much, how are you). It's super cool since Ukrainian and Spanish are SUCH different languages. Zero similarity for sound combos and word flow, but tons of overlap with the grammar in literal translations. So in UKR, "how" is "Як" (masculine / neutral) or "Яка" (feminine) (aka "Yak" or "Yaka") , but "how many?" and "how much" are "скільки?" aka "skilky?", but "what is your name?" would be "Як вас звати?" ("Yak vas zvaty?") and "Як тебе звати?" ("Yak tebe zvaty?") which the literal translation of us the same as Spanish with "How are you called?" So "Що" ("shcho") = "what", but "Що вас звати?" would be completely wrong (although not so wrong people have no idea what you're asking haha)
It’s a sign of Spanish colonization. For what it’s worth, my college roommate’s family was Filipino. I’m Puerto Rican and we speak faaaaast. Home girl picked it up so quick, it was wild. Keep at it! My one suggestion - listen to and watch all the Spanish songs and movies you can get your hands on.

My boyfriends grandmother always laughs at me whenever I speak Spanish and it’s so embarrassing. It makes me not want to speak around her or his family but I want to build a relationship with them so it’s such a challenging situation.
I don't think that you should be embarrassed. Had one girl at work who was trying to learn the language. She would mess words up all the time and we found her doing that so funny. But loved having her talk and be around because of this. Don't be embarrassed friend.

I worked hard on about 1/2 college coarse long time ago. Recently picked up book. Your video with who, what, where when, How, etc. So great, i wrote down, though not all, with practice i could see how you can takeoff adding much more while using with others. I've been doing Duolingo for 2 years. Helped me seeing how i didn't speak any Spanish my problem is putting sentences together. Know lots of words. Will follow you for help.
I love your style of teaching. Relaxed yet thorough. You've clarified a few things that had been confusing me prior to watching your video, so thank you!
Tbh, I’m here because I work at a grocery store. So many times now I’ve had an individual who speaks Spanish come needing help and using their phone to do so, I’d kinda like to make communication easier for them.
Salute to you, Coach Rock. Best Spanish teacher on TH-cam. This video was really helpful in reinforcing the essentials. 🙌🏽 Can you explain the difference between using Buenos and Buenas when expressing greetings?
Thanks man salute to you! Buenos is associated with Dias. Because Dias follows masculine patterns. El dia, Los dias. So when you say good morning it's buenos dias. On the contrary, tardes and noches follow feminine patterns. La tarde, la noche. Therefore Buenas is used with those words. Buenas tardes, buenas noches. I hope this helps!
Speak Spanish Faster Definitely does! Do you offer private coaching at all? Also, can you do a video on how to tell masculine and feminine patterns in nouns and articles? This would be a big help! 🙌🏽
Thank you so much! I work hotel and I hate I am unable to communicate and so is anyone speaking Spanish to me! This has helped so so much! Hotel language would be such a help video to make!
just awesome... while I'm not having Spanish conversations yet, it's really helpful to get these reviews and refreshers (& commentary). It seems like I also pick up more details that I don't comprehend the first time around. thanks for sharing, gracias
I'm progressing so quickly with the Audio program on Audible I listen to while working in my warehouse in my headset hours a day. ... but im good at listening and speaking . Now my next step is learning to read and see the words written thar I've been googling a lot to see listening to my Audible program. I'm progressing quickly because I'm just doing it for fun and don't mind making mistakes. No pressure. I'm worried... I don't know any Spanish speakers locally to progress past the audio program I have .... I'm planning to start watching DVD of movies I like but in spanish with English subtitles hopefully. Along with watching you tube videos like yours to learn new phrases not covered in my audio book. Good job . 👏
When I moved to Mexico City, that’s how I learned to speak Spanish because that was the only way for me to get around into get the things I need. I appreciate my time in Mexico City and now live in Cancun. I love Mexico. I love the Spanish language.
I'm trying to learn Spanish as a latina myself.. I'm a "no sabo" kid, my mother never taught me much Spanish because I grew up in a more American environment and only saw my hispanic family very rarely. But I wanna be able to learn my own language and culture now (I'm 14) so I'll have more knowledge in the future to share to people if anyone asks me!
This is such a helpful video! I started Spanish classes recently and actually just posted a video sharing my progress after 2 months of classes. It's been so fun!

I go to Spain every year on holiday so I'm trying to learn the language. I know a lot of the words but it's putting them into phrases and using them in the right context. I love the Spanish language and would love to be fluent, one day maybe 🙏😂
my manager and one other co-worker are from Chile, I was always interested to learn Spanish, coming from Greece I found out for me it's so easy to nail the accent by just putting my greek accent when I'm speaking Spanish, I'm more committed now to learn Spanish as my 3rd language, no particular reason, I pick it up pretty easily so why not
ill try my best for a basic spanish, i learn now everyday atleast 10 minutes of spanish and talk loudly even if i dont have anyone with to learn with. i speak now 3 languages, swiss german, german and english. my goal is to get in the next 5 years a basic spanish cause i think its a cool language
I got a Spanish dictionary, a Spanish Bible, and a Spanish catechism Catholic Church book. I am well on my way to speaking reading, and writing fluent Spanish.
Good video. On greetings: I have noticed that as Spanish-speakers have adopted the Italian word "ciao" they use it primarily as goodbye, but Italians use it for hello and goodbye (the same way Hawaiians use the word "aloha").
Man I just moved to santo do,into Dominican Republic part time your channel has helped me so much these short video are very important Thanks bro I like every video and subscribe
Funny thing I speak a lot Spanish but when I'm around people that don't for a long time I forget a lot so fast till I get back into speak it around those that do.
I really enjoyed it. I will have to listen to it many times, because I have an auditory processing disorder. I wii be taking Spanish for two years at my local l community college. i will start in Fall of 2025.
@4:39 is something that I have always thought about and it's good to finally hear it validated. It's important to learn how other languages build their sentences, verses trying to relate everything back to what we know the English meanings to be. That would cause us to structure the sentences wrong. So cool to think about
got a new job and I get to speak to many people with many diversities and the main one are native Spanish speaking people. I had been wanting to connect with them and try to learn more since my job also travels thank you for teaching some common daily phrases I can learn and hopefully speak.
Icelandic is my native language and Spanish and Icelandic are qyite similar in many aspects. In both languages almost every letter in the word is pronounced, it was easy for me to remeber that h is silent and j is pronounced like an h. We have a letter "þ" it sounds like "th" in English, in spanish the z is pronounced like that letter in Spanish spoken in Spain. I love Spanish, why it is not called the language of love is beonf me because it is such a beautiful language. I tried to learn Spanish last semester at college, I had a horrible teacher, she didn't help with anything and we had to translate the whole damn textbook ourselves. In Spansih the same words can mean diffrent things depending on the context of the sentences. This teacher didn't allow us to use anything to help us with, yet it is a remote learning class and she told me I was basically teaching myself because of that yet we couldn't use AI, translate or anything else to help us. I won't give up, there is a new teacher teaching this class now which leads me here. I will use everyrhing I can to master Spanish because I am going to learn it.
In order to pronouce the words properly do you have to learn to roll your "R". I see this a lot in films and programs. I can't roll mine will this effect the translation? thanks
I just started learning Spanish. been drilling this video.. Great video to start out with definitely. Now i watch Kurt Cas videos and listen for words i know lol.. it really helps.
Thanks I finally found this channel. Great for me to learn Spanish like hopefully everyday coz here in NYC a lot of Spanish speaking people are everywhere. I bump into them at work and funny thing is they just speak in Spanish at me and I don't know how to answer. Gracias!😅

The kreeping unit, ¿qué estas haciendo? Means, What are you doing?. And ¿qué tu hace? Is a very informal way to say the same, but is better if you use that with friends and not with an strange. (Sorry for my english). And for example in my country we don't use it and use ¿qué haces vos? (We pronounce "vo" and not "vos" in this case, and is very very informal) and that expresion is use to say What are you doing? And How are you? But it is also very informal.
This is super helpful, thank you! I notice there is a lot of similarities in the literal translation quite a few phrases in both Spanish and Ukrainian, which I thought was super cool! (ie. "what is your name" = "how are you called" ["Як вас звати?" / "Як тебе звати?" aka "Yak vas svaty?" / "Yak tebe svaty?"] I'm excited to see what other similarities there are! I didn't expect it since Slavic / Cyrillic language is exceptionally difficult for native English speakers due to how different the language is in its approach to grammar, so I'm wondering if my learning Ukrainian will make Spanish even easier to learn. Spanish isn't nearly as difficult to actually produce the sounds in a string (phrase / sentence) for me as Ukrainian is because the sound / syllable combinations seem to be much more compatable with a native English tongue, whereas with Ukrainian sounds / syllables are VERY difficult because they are an absolute departure from a sort of syllable or sound flow that the English tongue isn't physically used to. Like I basically have to practice what amounts to tongue-twister phrases not unlike what we used to do for vocal warm-ups on Choir to help train my diction and repeat sound combinations that are super difficult until my tongue becomes familiar with the transition between one syllable to the next. It's been really fun learning such a difficult language and I'm still very new to it, but I'm going to be in the Yucatan for fall / winter and have never been to Mexico before, so I wanted to try to learn some basics and I was worried that my brain would overload trying to learn two completely different languages at once. So far there's a surpsing number of similarities between the two, so it might be easier than I thought! Do you know of any vocal exercises that are good for English speakers to use to help with what might be some of the more difficult syllable combinations we might struggle with?
This channel lit I been on duo lingo im boutta fw these type videos now cus I understand Spanish way faster when the words said slower. Can’t always process it fast when people talk fast
For anyone wondering, people in mexico and Guatemala who dont speak english LOVE people who put the effort in to learn their language. They will make fun of you. Its just their culture, very dry and sarcastic senses of humor. Great people. Learn the culture too. I find that even more interesting

hi i’m ur first reply
I worked hard on about 1/2 college coarse long time ago. Recently picked up book. Your video with who, what, where when, How, etc. So great, i wrote down, though not all, with practice i could see how you can takeoff adding much more while using with others. May the Lord Jesus Christ be your salvation
This is good advice for intermediate Boriqueña learning students. If you can understand the intro you are at least pre intermediate.
Same thing with English ....Yet, most people actually appreciate folks trying 2 speak it!! Even if broken -respect !! I want 2 speak Spanish now !!
I speak 3 languages at present, I speak Canadian, American and English.

@@Marwitana lol. That was his point. Lol

Thank you for the syllabic pronunciations. Incredibly helpful for trying to sound out new words.
Thanks Claire! we will have to check it out.
You need to teach it all, I love the way you say the word slow
After the first few seconds, I thought I was learning English

I'm going to El Salvador for Christmas to meet my boyfriend's family. I really want to get better at speaking Spanish before I go. It's a struggle.
I go to Spain every year on holiday so I'm trying to learn the language.
I know a lot of the words but it's putting them into phrases and using them in the right context.
I love the Spanish language and would love to be fluent, one day maybe 🙏😂
Excellent break down of the Spanish basics. Best video so far on it
Can you please summarize the video in a short sentence I want to know if it's worth watching
Excellent Tip 1: Make mistakes and have them corrected
Next: break down of your Question words: who, where, what, why, when.
my manager and one other co-worker are from Chile, I was always interested to learn Spanish, coming from Greece I found out for me it's so easy to nail the accent by just putting my greek accent when I'm speaking Spanish, I'm more committed now to learn Spanish as my 3rd language, no particular reason, I pick it up pretty easily so why not
Thanks for the simple video. you did a great job explaining everything. I will continue to learn more spanish
Can you please summarize the video in a short sentence I want to know if it's worth watching

Whenever I hear this beautiful language which has an obvious load of my language (Arabic), it makes me so fascinated. Love your videos. Thank you
You know Arabic, English, and learning Spanish? Man.
un gran video más! Gracias, Maestro!
Yo Coach rock!!! From helping me develop into a better basketball player, to now helping me with Spanish! Gracias hermano!!
Good video. On greetings: I have noticed that as Spanish-speakers have adopted the Italian word "ciao" they use it primarily as goodbye, but Italians use it for hello and goodbye (the same way Hawaiians use the word "aloha").
Yes exactly. Honestly since I've been going hard in Italian - I've been using ciao more in Spanish lol go figure!
Man I just moved to santo do,into Dominican Republic part time your channel has helped me so much these short video are very important Thanks bro I like every video and subscribe

Muchas gracias..❤❤i am also learning spanish...because i want to connect with my spanish friends..
apparently spanish is my first language but i’m not very fluent and i don’t really speak spanish out loud bc i feel dumb speaking spanish-
I really enjoyed it. I will have to listen to it many times, because I have an auditory processing disorder. I wii be taking Spanish for two years at my local l community college. i will start in Fall of 2025.
I love this! This helped me so much. My Puerto Rican amiga be challenging me to speak more in Spanish
@4:39 is something that I have always thought about and it's good to finally hear it validated. It's important to learn how other languages build their sentences, verses trying to relate everything back to what we know the English meanings to be. That would cause us to structure the sentences wrong. So cool to think about
Omg you are a life saver
❤ I am really trying to learn Spanish and I need some good advice. Thank you. That was great.
Puedo ayudarte a practicar si quieres
You help me so much! Thankyou
got a new job and I get to speak to many people with many diversities and the main one are native Spanish speaking people. I had been wanting to connect with them and try to learn more since my job also travels thank you for teaching some common daily phrases I can learn and hopefully speak.
Maravilloso 👍
I can't roll mine will this effect the translation? thanks
no bc not everyone rolls theirs like us Puerto Rican's we tend to swap the r sound with ll
I just started learning Spanish. been drilling this video.. Great video to start out with definitely. Now i watch Kurt Cas videos and listen for words i know lol.. it really helps.
I’m Very lazy at learning Spanish but do you know how long the learning process would be if you learn everyday for a year
The Kreeping Unit depends on the person, for one hour everyday it would be just under 2 years. You can do it 👍
Thanks I finally found this channel. Great for me to learn Spanish like hopefully everyday coz here in NYC a lot of Spanish speaking people are everywhere. I bump into them at work and funny thing is they just speak in Spanish at me and I don't know how to answer. Gracias!😅
Rocky I feel like your cousin was mean as hell😂😂😂

One time I said “Que eres tú haciendo” and it was “Qué estás haciendo”
Tremendous Taneja0gamer is it the same as qué tú hace?
The Kreeping Unit basically
The kreeping unit, ¿qué estas haciendo? Means, What are you doing?. And ¿qué tu hace? Is a very informal way to say the same, but is better if you use that with friends and not with an strange. (Sorry for my english).
And for example in my country we don't use it and use ¿qué haces vos? (We pronounce "vo" and not "vos" in this case, and is very very informal) and that expresion is use to say What are you doing? And How are you? But it is also very informal.
@@Agustina-jc6soyeah as a Spanish person, "¿Qué tu hace?" sounds like Dominican Spanish or something like that
This is super helpful, thank you! I notice there is a lot of similarities in the literal translation quite a few phrases in both Spanish and Ukrainian, which I thought was super cool! (ie. "what is your name" = "how are you called" ["Як вас звати?" / "Як тебе звати?" aka "Yak vas svaty?" / "Yak tebe svaty?"]
I'm excited to see what other similarities there are!
Can you please summarize the video in a short sentence I want to know if it's worth watching
To much waffle
Yes. Why is this so hard for content creators to avoid?
Awesome 👏 thanks 🙏 my girlfriend at work speak Spanish and I’m learning now to better our relationship ❤it’s an amazing experience

For anyone wondering, people in mexico and Guatemala who dont speak english LOVE people who put the effort in to learn their language. They will make fun of you. Its just their culture, very dry and sarcastic senses of humor. Great people. Learn the culture too. I find that even more interesting
