@@metaphysicalmultikil You can't even mention Halo 2 without someone mentioning the coolest sounding shit ever that had to get cut because of time constraints.
I played through this mod and it was definitely interesting. I really like the change in perspective and at first fighting marines is fresh. It makes me think of Half-Life’s Opposing Force expansion where you’re playing as an HECU soldier and experience the disaster a different way. It makes me wish CE/2 got expansions akin to that. Unfortunately, it’s eventually turns into a slog (although, that could’ve been my fault for playing on a higher difficulty). A common trend I’ve noticed with mods where you fight humans in Halo is that when there’s plenty of cover and flanking routes for you and the enemy to use it’s a lot of fun. But, when they’re bunched together in the open it’s not very fun. The level design can really make or break human combat encounters since you can’t exactly dodge bullets. I really like how since the marines panic when stuck with a plasma grenade or about to super combine it makes them easier to deal with, and shows that they don’t want to die. Too bad they don’t run for cover when their health is low or once the rest of the squad was wiped out. Unfortunately, after checking the Steam Workshop page I saw the modder will only be updating the mod for comparability issues, and that development is over. There’s a bunch of cool things that could be done to make the thing more engaging. Things like throwing in Digsite weapons/vehicles, restored wildlife in Ruby’s Rebalanced, ODSTs as a stronger unit, making human snipers have a laser pointer to give the player a quick heads-up (well aware it doesn’t make any sense, but nor does giving Jackal snipers a helmet with a bright light), having the crewmen be seen in fortified locations, and other things like that. There’s a lot of things that can be done to make a campaign fighting against humans be more engaging. The modder also could’ve ported over dialogue from the other games where appropriate.
I would've loved this rivalry to have been present in the original game. Encountering the same Elite through sections of the game yet not being able to confront each other until end.

If I had to guess, it's built into the sound files recording. Also I'm not sure if the pitch actually goes down or if it just gets muffled. I was really surprised at 2:00 when you picked up an AR! Elites are such a proud race, they'd be more likely to restock plasma battery in their boarding craft or wrestle humans with hand-to-hand combat than pick up the dirty human guns ^_^
Very cool, but the humans do like, 1% damage to your shields every 5 seconds. Would have been more interesting if the marines actually went full auto and didn't have like 10 seconds of hit-stun.
It was always a dream of mine since a kid to play as an elite in campaign and see the covanant perspective. Now I can. Also, 11:15. What the hell was that?
My theory is that since the player model has the Stealth Sangheli (Elite), this should mean that the Elite is invisible. I think the mod developer had the trouble to include the active camouflage in the cutscene. I'm not that familiar with the lore from the Halo books, but I seem to remember that there were invisible Elites on the Autumn Bridge... Maybe urban legend IDK. :D
You telling these guys get bodied by basically everything, covenant, flood, sentinels, Jank physics, and even each other… But suddenly are all able to gun down not just any but THE Spartan.

Very cool but the marines would be firing wayy more than that. I have CE on hardcopy and always hear the blaring sound of the AR going off nearly full auto from allied marines in level 1. Maybe it would be too hard to fight them? Also Elites head gear looks a little different. Very cool though, never imagined a Campaign with elites.
amazing and fun! my only complain of this mod is how bad the lighting is in some areas. You can't use the flashlight so its completely dark and you have to guess where you are going, you wont allways carry the plasma pistol
I really thought this was going to be Sesa Refumee's backstory: While chasing the Master Chief, he too finds out about the truth of Halo when he enters the control room, and decides to turn traitor to the Covenant cause right then and there. Too bad that didn't happen here. And I'm also certain one of the Zealots in the 343 level is actually Thel (Who will become the Arbiter later).
