10:31 As a recovering heroin addict myself I always thought it was cool that SRV was humble and took his personal recovery seriously. Nobody will probably even notice it in the video but he has a Triangle within a circle earing on his left ear and that is the Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous triangle that represents Unity/Recovery/Service within sobriety. As a guitarist he means the world to me but as a genuine human being he was amazing and I wish he were still around. Also, I literally discovered Albert Collins as a kid in the early 90s through the movie adventures in babysitting. "Nobody leaves here without sangin da'blues..." It's cool that Bush being from Texas invited a whole bunch of Texas based blues musicians. I had no idea SRV performed at any inauguration but it would have been cool if Bush also invited that little o'band from Texas... ZZ Top.

Stevie Was On 🔥🔥🔥 In This Performance! Having Brother Jimmy & Albert Collins On Stage With Him I'm SURE Made It An Extra Special Night!! I Had Noticed Stevie's "12-Step Symbol" Earring In Another Video Too,.... As Well As An Actual Narc-Anon TShirt He Wore From The 80's.....I Was In AA By Then But Didn't Even Know They Had These!!! I Was Shocked When I Saw Him Wearing That! Then He Had One Of His CHIP's Mounted To Wear Around His Neck!! I Wish I Had Though Of That - I Didn't Even Know You COULD Do That! Leave It To Stevie Ray To Go Ahead & Be "Loud & Proud" About Being In Recovery!! I Know He SINCERELY Cared About Sharing His Journey & His Message Of Hope To As Many People As He Could - It Just Blew Me Away, & I Told Him That! Some Folks In Recovery - It Seems - Never Get Past Their Own Story, Their Own Struggle, Their Own Misery To See Anyone Else's...Stevie Really GOT The Entirety 12-Step Recovery Like NO One I Ever Heard, Or Heard Of!! But A Lot Of That Was Just Who Stevie Was Anyway, I Think...He Loved People, Was Compassionate To A Fault & Had A Heart Bigger Than His Beloved Texas! I Miss Him For These Things Even More Than The Awesome Music He Made - And I Miss Seeing Where It Took Him When He Performed It! I Saw Him Often Between 1985 & 1990 - The Last Time Just A Few Weeks Before The Crash - & Stevie Was Better & More ALIVE Than I Ever Saw Him! I Am SO Glad He Survived His Addictions To Live On & Play & Perform Again - I Believe That Getting Back To What He Loved So Much As Soon As He Did Helped Him In His Recovery & Also To VALUE Everything More - That Is Especially What I Got Out Of What He Shared About His Near-Dying Addictions Journey....I Miss Him Still So Much - After All These Years - I Hope People Will Pull Up Stevie's AA Talk That He Did In NYC & Had Recorded To Share - It's On TH-cam! It's Very Personal & It Was So Good Of Him To Be Willing To Show People That He Was As Human & As Vulnerable As Everybody Else - But Stevie Chose To Use His Celebrity To Share HIS Experience, Strength & Hope As Far As He Could - & God Bless Him For It!!🙏 Congrats On Your Recovery - I Am Now Living & Celebrating My 16th Sober Year & When I Feel Really Challenged, Scared, Hopeless, Whatever - I Think Of Stevie.....& I Always Feel A Little Push, A Little Support, A Little Stronger...I Know He Helped COUNTLESS People Find The Courage To Even TRY Sobriety - & I Know He Still Helps Me! Love You SRV💞

Janna acknowledged Stevie asked her many times to marry him, but she kept stalling. When she finally agreed, she hurt him by refusing to set a date. Janna blamed it on busy schedules, but Stevie would have eagerly accommodated her. She shifted her focus off of him and onto her modeling career by leaving their home to move into the apartment he leased for her in NY. He remained in Dallas to attend daily meetings at the Aquarius Chapter of AA. This allowed him to be close to his mother, as well as conveniently located near Dallas Sound Lab studios. She claimed the apartment was leased to benefit both of them, but considering his disdain for being alone, it was undoubtedly a source of friction and she acknowledged they had fights. In an interview Stevie stated he was “not well” and admitted it was a daily challenge to remain sober. He carried a high risk for relapse, but Janna was comfortable leaving him to his own devices. After his death, Martha and Jimmie extended the lease on the apartment for another year, but she filed an unsuccessful lawsuit to collect more from his estate. Bottom line: he was far more devoted to her, than she was to him.

He asked Stevie to play a certain song, and he didn't, Jimmy has zero parts in superstitious so he left stage not to look like a guitar stand. Those songs are over Jimmy's head, his simple licks can only fit in a couple songs, but srv loved his brother, but they did have a strange relationship, at least from Jimmy's side, he was very envious of Stevie's skills and before making that brothers record, they had a little falling out, and barely talked to each other, until srv started getting famous, and Jimmy's band got left in the dust with the one hit tuff enough, meanwhile srv was picking up steam right up till the end and last recording
