Whenever I see brands that put this amount of effort into looking like 'the real thing' I just assume that's where most of the money went and the quality must be terrible.

This becomes more visible when connecting them to a windows pc where under the audio outputs, you can see two outputs namely 'Headphones', for audio, and 'Headset', for calls. I am unsure if this is how it is for higher end bluetooth devices.

Normally it means how many hours total the earbuds and the case can handle. Example: earbuds can last 3 hours but the charging case can charge them 4x if it's full. 3hrs * 4 ≈ 12hrs and that is what some manufactures put on the packaging.
I recently brought bluetooth 5.0 earphones for half this price and only had one cut out then reconnect almost instantly every so often. Not sure how good the bluetooth 5 functionality is but it works fine on bluetooth 4. I've noticed it comes up as L and R earpieces though, not one device to connect to. And connecting both at same time just don't work on computer but it seems to connect to each other and copy the audio from one side to the other instead of being left and right sounds? They weren't trying to be knockoffs though. These are form a well known mostly budget brand that are actually decent. Although you do get what you pay for.
For a pair of Anker sound core Liberty pros for £75 of Amazon two weeks ago. The best sounding buds I've heard to date. No NC but as I use them out side I don't want noise to bleed in for safety. I have Bose BQ2 for that job.

Those speakers under the eartips on the fake AirPods were used on some of the first AirPods Pro clones, so that pair is probably from old stock that was needed to be sold.
My dad got these - in terms of the ANC on iOS, since they were recognised as ‘airpods’ it could be ‘enabled’ but I wasn’t convinced it was doing anything, despite my Dad claiming they were. Transparency mode definitely worked, however there was a noticeable delay unlike the AirPods.
The difference between ANC off and on with the AirPods Pro is enormous, so if it's hard to tell if the "BatPods" are doing anything, then they probably aren't. Or, if they are, it's useless.
The left one cutting out might actually be your phone. I'm having the same issue on my Note 9 with a pair of JLab wireless earbuds I bought recently. One of them will randomly cut out sometimes, usually the left channel. I figured it was just a Bluetooth issue with mine, but seeing you having the same problem makes me wonder if its a Samsung/Note 9 issue.

Even when they emulate the connection and pop up on the iPhone, the sound quality with the real AirPods are always worlds better. Your best bet is always to buy the real version.

I had bought some cheap knock-off "beats tour3" from Wish a while back for like $15 bucks, left earbud stopped working after putting back in the case after using it the first time... Doesn't seem to even charge the earbud even tho the case detects it being put in. Suffice to say I bought some quality Galaxy Buds+ with the recent sale that was going on an am highly impressed.

I got better version from a company called “cableling, black pods pro” ones. They actually have Active Noise Cancellation up to -25 dB, Apple’s are -35 dB. They are pretty good, and cheaper, 89.95 as i remember. Oh they really have acceptable noise cancellation, but what’s cool and i don’t know how they did it is: transparencymode working, like normal apple ones??? I even got the wireless charging circular led charging stand and magnetic cable too 😁
I found a different knockoff for around 50$, gotta admit. There is no wireless charging, the build quality kinda sucks, but the sound quality is really good. Not really comparable to the AirPods Pros, but very close.

Linus the problem that you faced is really simple to fix, as only one from the pair of the fake pods get connected to ur phone and the other one connects to the other fake pods that is paired with ur phone so since it cheapoo product the connection gets weak when the pods are not placed properly in the ears otherwise it won't work, I know it coz I used one of this fake pods (not this one though but all of them uses the same method for pairing)

On cheap head phones and earbuds (wireless) occasionally one side may drop out. I have no idea why this happens but it's common with bad headphones.
