Morissette amon is already a legend for me. She's singing live, she's sitting. I am Italian and not Filipino. I discovered it 8 years ago through a youtube tip. She became famous first abroad and then in her own country. I was lucky enough to hear it live. The audio quality of youtube doesn't do it justice. Even today, after 8 years, when I see his performances, he always manages to surprise me. She's not just a monster vocalist, she's an empathetic storyteller. She makes you feel what she feels, through her voice, her unique and rare timbre of voice. Unique generation talent. Few like her are born. One every 60/70 years. Hi I signed up. The phoenix of the world flies, dominates the sky, and when it sings the world welcomes silence in this regard
Like what Felip said in one of his interviews, there are so many Filipino artists who didn't have the opportunity to be in the spotlight due to the Filipino standards. But now, I can see that it's changing and I'm so happy about that.

For her range you can check out Akin Ka Na Llang, a duet with Daryl Ong (cover of You Are the Reason), and Gravity (from the musical wicked) but specifically where she's in a red shirt, just in a random room in front of a camera. It was so satisfying to wait more than 53 minutes before you got to Mori, and see how mind blown you were that it felt like you just completely forgotten all of the artists before her. All of the sudden it just became Mori's world, hope you continue your journey in discovering Mori and her amazing artistry and vocal magic that shows how she is in the upper echelon of singers not just in the Philippines but in the world.

Some fun facts for you: She is Stell’s favorite singer and I think you can hear it in the way he sings, how he emulates her. Other fun facts: SB19 are good friends with The Juans. They filmed some fun videos during Covid, one that is Valentine’s Day themed which is hilarious!! Also, Arthur Nery and Adie are good friends as well. It’s a great time to be getting into OPM, so many singer songwriters with the acoustic sound I also love, they write their own songs and have great voices to sing them. She also performed in the Asia festival in 2018 & 2019. She did an English rendition of a famous Korean song by Big Mama (i think) You will love it! She sang the last part in Korean. They filmed some fun videos during Covid, one that is Valentine’s Day themed which is hilarious!! Also, Arthur Nery and Adie are good friends as well. It’s a great time to be getting into OPM, so many singer songwriters with the acoustic sound I also love, they write their own songs and have great voices to sing them. They are all musicians, not just singers. We in the Philippines are so lucky our music scene is so richly varied. We have so many talented artists that truly love music and are original in their approach. As for your question if Mori is the most famous female singer here, she is definitely is one of them. She also performed in the Asia festival in 2018 & 2019. She did an English rendition of a famous Korean song by Big Mama (i think) You will love it! She sang the last part in Korean. I lived the first 23 years of my life in the Philippines and now resides in Australia and I am so astonished whenever I see and hear how great Filipino performers, singers, writers and composers are and get appreciated by non locals, truly excellent talents and can be at far with the world's best.
It's an OPM rabbit hole indeed! You should also need to hear Zack Tabudlo's English songs and I'm pretty sure you'll love 'em. A couple of my favorites are Give Me Your Forever and As You Are. This is such a great list. the style or genre idk what its called, it is what is commonly heard here, high belty vocals or soft and heartbreaking. which is why in the beginning it was hard for sb19 because they sounded so new. Also, they say Filipinos are hard to please when it comes to music because we're already blessed or used to hearing those kind of voices already.
