If my memory serves me right, I read it somewhere that even before the Philippines was colonized, singing is like part of the average Filipino's past time, especially those who are doing their day's work to keep themselves upbeat, entertained and somewhat synchronized or in cadence on what they do, such as for rice field farmers, fishermen and their families, weavers, or even women cooking for community gatherings or just for their families. They even sing and do traditional dances for special or important friends, or just normal, foreign visitors as part of the hospitality we give. It's of course a given that not all of Filipinos are gifted in singing, but anyone can be trained to be good singers still with the proper effort to learn because we inherited such a great trait from our ancestors.
Pre colonial Filipinos didn't write history but sang it through songs, some songs depict important events in the Philippines and mostly used metaphor 😊
@@eidokunyou got it right, my grandma told stories in a form of music called ‘laylay-os’ and I don’t understand them because they are full of metaphors. I was in grade school in 1973 and my grandma was born in 1920 and my province was not colonized by the Spaniard and yet people here have their own music and arts that is distinct to other provinces. Laylay-os, uggayam, ullalim, dangdang-ay and others are hard to put a note on them😅😅😅
It's a really different reaction when groups touch instruments and major in music, the insights and commentary are so full of knowledge and facts. This will probably be my favorite reaction done by idols/bands in the channels. They're a lot of fun, the youth vibe really is shining through.
I think this is my most fave reaction so far. All their comments and reaction fills with knowledge and professionalism despite they just debuted this month maybe because they all majored in Music. I really like their outgoing personality and WOW the vocals is really good. I will check and listen to their songs. Thanks Sylvia for promoting OPM 🥰
I hope this will have a part 2 where they listen to performances from Wish Bus since it is better for them as a band. I specifically recommend "Mundo" by IV of Spades since it has a perfect guitar solo as a highlight. Hoping they'll cover Mundo or Ere soon
actually this wishbus live performances, even perhaps put a mix of SB19 Mapa specifically the band version featuring Ben&Ben. I would love to hear their comments with their musical perspective.
Even if they don't understand, they feel the message of the songs especially "ERE" 😮 they can feel JK's emotions. Looks like I'll be a fan of Catch the Young because I'm also amazed by their vocals, they're great! 👏
I like this group and their reaction! I mean, I just knew them here but now I like their vibe. I love how they're not just simply complimenting the songs or Filipinos, but they are really willing to dive into or understand it. It makes us appreciate their insights. They're also talented.
Catch the Young, such lovely people! You can really see that they love music and love what they are doing. The chemistry of the group is fantastic. Love to see more from them. So talented!
nice set of opm here, sylvia! and congrats to this band for debuting. they are new just debuted nov 1, i searched them up. hope they go big in the future. gonna follow this band coz the only korean band i knew and listened is the rose.
i listen to the rose too and catch the young definitely gives off a similar vibe! cactus boy reminds me a bit of the mood of sorry or she's in the rain.
I love their insights lol. More Opinionated and expressive than other guests and not just "waaahh its so good. Waahhh". Thank you for the content! Will be streaming them forsure.
Catch the Young is literally very youthful in features..😊They passed my standard of vocals..Thank you so much boys for appreciating our Filipino artists..Glad also to know you experience coming to the Philippines and enjoyed our beaches here .As our slogan in the Philippines say, its more Fun in the Philippines.💞✌️😘🥰😍
Tbh this is the first group that you have guested in your channel that I was really interested to check out. They seem to be so fun and they sing great! Would definitely listen to their songs ❤ And as always thank you Sylvia for promoting OPM ❤❤❤
...Okay, I'm stanning them. Sani is capturing my heart with his facts and trivias. 😳 And Kihoon describes the songs so well. 😭 I already love their group HUHUHUHU I really like it when groups use instruments since I can feel their raw emotions more and shows how talented they really are. WE LOVE SMART AND TALENTED MEN 🙈
This is the first time i saw this group. But they're really good with harmonies and their comment was on point. I hope they make it big. I love their reaction❤
I actually never watch clips from groups I don't stan. I only clicked this out of boredom and without any expectations. Thankfully, I thoroughly enjoyed spending my time watching them. You could really see their passion for music. Their vibrant energy and chemistry as a group also made me smile. Wishing a good luck to their journey as a band!!
I love how they express their opinions in our music, they really understands everything..i would love to hear from another korean band or if you invited them again for the next episode would be nice
They seem like a very fun group! Nice vocals and songs as well, and nice commentaries haha especially when Namhyun said "Filipinos have talent for expressing emotions." I love that. Natumbok mo boi! Hahahah Filipino heart talaga pambato namin yan sa buong mundo. The amount of heart being poured into the crafts of Pinoys is 💯 I would also like to point out how the chemistry of the band and the host added so much to the fun of this video. I was just smiling and laughing the whole time❤
I don’t know what it is but i love their chemistry as a group and they have a certain energy i like about them, also how they’re so talkative, entertaining, and had good points to bring up. They seen very well-versed in music genres too😮 Other than that though, their singing were impressive?? Their songs sound pretty nice, i would 💯 enjoy a medley of their songs if they made one! I think i’ll check them out actually hehe
Been listening to this band nonstop since their first album came out, and was so happy to find your interview of them! Thank you for the subtitles and for being an awesome host that made them feel comfortable. Not from the Philippines so I had no idea about these artists! I'll have to check out their work too :)
It's nice to know you guys I'm amazed how you interpret the lyrics even though you don't understand the language of the lyrics.(tagalog) you can say what the feelings input in the song.. @sylva more improvement of you ☺️☺️ we have more expectation from you because you literally understand Tagalog so its easy for you more to understand about it you also a singer anyway thank you for bringing up OPM to KPOP artist

This is the first time I saw them. Glad I scrolled coz I can't sleep. Love all of them but I really love how Kihoon describes the songs and emotions so well! I will stan them!
Omyyyy first time knowing this Band , and they all look amazing . That second guy from slyvia's area Analyzed every song so well omggg ,its really on point
Just a suggestion, i think they will appreciate the song more if you can make edits for the translation or used windows translator or something on their view :) the lyrics are beautiful if they can understand it and feel it even more where the singer is coming from. :) more power to you!
Will check them out. Their songs sounded good (the snippets), they have great personalities, they're funny and insightful too. I hope they do well. We need more K-bands tbh.
just watched this! this group sound really good and i love the fact that they're all musicians. one song added to my playlist! thanks for introducing opm to koreans.
I saw namhyun and i didn't know he debuted in a band. I just saw him from a korean show. And now, i got hooked up with this band just from seeing them appreciate and understand the emotions of the OPM videos they saw.. definitely checking them out. Thank you Sylvia!
this band need to be recognize, their vocals are top tier. i love the harmonization of their voice and they also know how to speak english especially the guy in the middle who looks so fluent in it. they also looks cheerful and fun to stan. may they be successful like what they were dreaming and aiming to achieve.

Finally a band!!! Thank you Yeobo....they have great harmony...voices blends nicely...I want to see and hear them with their instruments live...I havent listened to a radio for years, like 20+ years so whatever pops up in my YT then Ill try to listen to it...this one is good to the ears if you want to hear it..."December Avenue - Huling Sandali""... stay safe always Yeobo...

Awww what a history😮🤍 It makes total sense!! Isn't it such a precious inherited culture..?
Definitely true
