WWE 2K23 MyRise: New Features Revealed! (Bonus Characters, Match Types, Story Options & More!)

- Join us as we take a deep dive in to WWE 2K23's MyRise and highlight this years updates and new features, as well as a preview of both the male and female stories.
When loading up MyRise, the first choice players have is to choose a story, as WWE 2K23 gives the player the choice of playing through the Women's story "The Legacy", or the Men's story, "The Lock".
The Legacy story sees you take on the role of LJ, the niece of fictional WWE Hall of Famer Justine, as you try to forge your own path in the WWE whilst dealing with the difficulties of Justine's old rival Molly Holly, who serves as the General Manager.
The Lock storyline sees you sign for WWE as the next big thing, where you're thrust into the limelight on Monday Night RAW as "The Lock". This story see's you have to deal with the pressure of being the next big thing, as you're instantly entered into a program with Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.
Some of the new features for MyRise include the ability to import and export your MyPlayer, more branching story options, exclusive match types and unlockables.
Thanks to the upgrades seen in the Creation Suite, this year's mode also sees a big improvement in the MyRise visuals, as created characters now look on par with that of the in-game WWE Superstars.

I like how both stories have a central theme about staying true to yourself, yet struggling to adhere to set regulations.

I'm not sure, I think they kind of rushed it after finding out that Bray Wyatt was no longer with WWE that day. WWE themselves forced 2k to make a lot of cuts in MyRise thus, what we have now. I mean, they could've at least gave us the proper entrances for pentgon and Hector.

wow that tells a lot XD if myfaction is the same as 22.. get points and win 4 on 4 boring matches, lot same cards just different rating + expensive packs.. but about 2k22 the whole game was boring and myrise was even bad.. i was happy to beat the male story (till i got all the trophies) then i had to do the same shit a 2nd time.. i really hate money in the bank because i not want to play for hours.. 20 mins lose again 20 mins then after the royal rumble where every new entrant comes after player 1.. wish i could be player 2 so they didn't bother me XD
career has been the most exciting things for years and this year looks better than last year's
I don't think a single person cares for MyFaction and that's because 2K hasn't given us a reason to care about MyFaction. They're still locking alternate models behind it and the only incentive, at least for me, that would get me to play that mode is having those models unlocked and usable in the base game. I didn't touch MyFaction in 2K22 and I won't be touching it in 2K23, either. Very pointless mode, in my opinion. 💀
The Lock could possibly form one of the best tag teams with Davey Boy Smith Jr. named "Locksmith". 😂😂😂😂

With the womens my rise starting in the ruthless aggression era, I think it'd be very interesting for a future my rise to incorporate the theme of the showcase. Like pick an era and have that my rise within that era. So like this year it's Cena and the pre order is the OVW crew. You start off there with that crew and you evolve in the different eras alongside Cena. So it's like as the showcase is Cena in the background here's the story of this star you didn't know.
I agree with you for example if you choose attitude era, the ending should be defeating either stone cold or the rock st wrestlemania 17 for wwf championship 😉
The Lock is something Vince would come up with, is he working with 2K 😂😂😂. It’s interesting that 00 Triple H is in MyRise and Prototype John Cena is in MyRise

I like to make original superstars loosely based on an IRL wrestler, and My Rise/Career is great for tweaking them and then exporting to exhibition- so I'm glad we can do that again this year.

Wasn't convinced in the first few mins of the footage but once you understand the story it actually looks decent. Looking forward to seeing if you can keep the name or get rid.
Honestly.....I think 2K17 had one of the best storymode....I liked the idea of seeing the ranking system , fighting to climb the ranks and then getting the title matches....Then you get stories and such between the rankings...

Would prefer a story mode along the lines of svr 06/07, where you can choose a superstar from the current roster.

I prefer the last year's my rise. The freedom of having choosing your own background instead of this year's having a already built in story. But it looks cool

Right Brodie, and the freedom to chose a male or a female for both sides of the story would have been nice

Molly Holly’s model is such an upgrade to the 2k20 version. She looks phenomenal, I’m happy they’re finally doing her well in a video game.

NOOO. You don't know how bad I wanted to start at NXT 2.0 for this game, that arena was my favorite from last year and this would've be the perfect time for it. They already changed it irl so I can't even say I'll wait for next year😫😫😫
The Mode sounds interesting. I will be playing it. Hopefully you will keep the Titles you earn and not have them dissappear during matches that don't have much to do with defending that title.
Side note: read a lot of comments on how people are drawing The whole Rock Lock thing. When it's an obvious nod to John Cena's Dr. Of Thug-A-nomics. As this year's focus is John Cena.
The one thing I don't like is. It took an hour to create my wrestler. Only to get a shitty generic attire for MyRise. It doesn't even let you go back to what you want your wrestler to look like.
I like it. Looks better than last year..Not a big fan of the names, LJ and The Lock, but I am looking forward to playing through both stories.

I think men's my rise might have evolution come back because I saw in the creation suite in the wwe image tab that there was a new evolution image available at the bottom next to Alexa Bliss images

Last night another TH-camr showed the loading screens, roster, match types in the game in an early preview.
People noticed that there were some characters missing from the roster, who are said to be in, such as Bruno Sammartino, Ezekiel and Molly Holly.
Well, Molly looks to be in MyRise, as shown, so I wonder if the others are also in MyRise, and if they are unlockable in the mode?

Looks like I was wrong about it, MyRise does actually seem pretty interesting this time around with two different stories instead of them copying and pasting the same thing from 2K20.

ngl i’m a bit sad that the backstories and background of the custom superstars is so rigid cus i really enjoyed making different characters from different background in 2k22. hope we still see that aspect in 2k23 or later down the line in 2k24

Can't speak for the women's story, but the men's story sounds like a genuine step down. Importing and exporting characters seems like the literal only improvement.
While I enjoyed My Rise in 2K22 I'm definitely not mad at having a more cohesive story to follow rather than dealing with multiple non connecting storylines. I'm definitely more interested in 'The Legacy' than 'The Lock' if I'm being honest though.

Ruthless Aggression Era...with Triple H having the Winged Eagle on his shoulder and not the big gold. He never even held the Winged Eagle, he's held the Big Eagle. During this time period though, it should be the big gold.

One of my biggest let downs in the last game is that I couldn't unlock original characters from MyRise. I really wanted to play with Hector, Paragon, and Chase in normal modes. It's cool that we unlock characters through the story but if this MyRise includes an interesting character that can't be played despite having the resources to play it including their call and commentary, Idk, maybe it's premature but if it's just the characters on the main roster that are unlockable seems like a waste.

Does anybody remember the TNA game when it came out and had that Suicide character story mode ? Then after a while suicide turned into a real life character and became successful? I have this weird feeling that we are going to have this ( the lock ) character be a real life character soon of someone we actually know from the indies. It would be cool if they do a TNA move.

My only complaint about this years MyRise is that I wish we could save characters like Slade and Ava Moreno to our game so that we can actually go against them in play mode and not just make those MyRise custom characters exclusive to MyRise

All of it looks very good
in my rise you walk backstage, but those parts are not in backstage brawls.. how cool would it be to hit austin by accident and he hits you with the stunner.. you could maybe slap 10 superstars and make it 11 on 1. that would add a lot to the game already
So they still have the same voiceover for your character huh this doesn't surprise me and the Lock seems like realistic approach I'm sure Vince came up with this new feature and some of theses new features seem good but I'm not too sure about it tho

Wish wwe 2k24 would let you pick your own nickname and have a longer main story once completed there would be an after completed story and continuation of my rise when the stories are over.
