  • How important is it for you to retire in a 'nice' town? I mean, one that looks good. In this video I pick the nicest town in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam. See if you agree with me.
    If you like this video give it a thumbs up, subscribe if you haven't already (a big thanks to those who already have) and remember to press that all important notification bell for latest uploads. Cheers.

    Vietnam is in a recent poll of one of the unsafe places to travel to. I would rather be in Udon Thani any day compared to how Pattaya has become. The people here in Udon Thani are very friendly the immigration are brilliant, and my beautiful apartment is only 5500bt a month compared to double that in Pattaya and they look after me brilliant so Udon Thani for me.

    Rural Thailand is beautiful. Not for everyone as some people need a beach but how many times do they visit the beach. Some people need farang company, some need lady company and some need European food. Rural Thailand you can order your European food, ladies are not that available and farang company is non existent. I love it and its very cheap to live. I have a blow out now and again but did not come here for the partying. I have done all of that already.

      Yeah it's nice to be near the water, I'd never swim in the grubby beaches at Pattaya though but nice to look at I guess. Better spots around that aren't grog dog watering holes.

    Nice thoughts on those places Eddy, agree with the list on the whole. For me Thailand is the obvious choice (most civilised yet still easy going, liberal and safe. No doubt Cambodia could be a bit easier for you for visas and slightly cheaper. I never made it to Siam Reap but thought of it as a tourist & backpacker's town, guess there is more to it. I don't think you are ever locked in anyway if you aren't buying a place, and can move easily as long as you don't gather too many possessions. Good to live like a minimalist over there anyway. Stayed in Hua-Hin for a month as a base, not bad still not perfect. Isn't a great deal to do there and not my ideal layout - the beaches didn't seem that great and no beach road but could visit Cha-Am for a few nights/weekend.

    I think if you spend a good few weeks in varies towns then the one to go for is the one that just makes you feel most comfortable in. The NICEST towns are normally at a premium in value so an average but comfortable town that has plenty of amenities and so on is probably the best one to choose to live in.

  • @vgshwk
    @vgshwk 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Most people have an impression of a town on a 3 or 4 day impression. While visiting it can be too hot too rainy, too crowded, too dead or I have experienced too much construction. I have a bad impression of siem reap the one time I went there about 8 years ago they were still building the road. I spent 12 hours going there on a hellish bumpy ride that I paid extra to fly out of there. Hua hin can be busy and dead at times. I spent 7 days in Chang mai it rained hard every day all I could do was grab an umbrella and get something to eat and go back to the hotel. So one person’s experience can differ from someone’s else.

    I knew that he'd pick Hoi An (you can't actually reside in the UNESCO old town)
    I knew that he'd pick Vang Vieng but its a village in the middle of nowhere and its appeals are limited.
    Siem Reap? Theres plenty of appeals there.

Have a deserted beach, 37 C, modern gym . All I need. I spend £350 per month. Retired at 56. If I want to spend a month -3 months in Da Nang, Japan, Korea, Philippines They’re 2 hours away . Inflation here 2%. And no loser old git sex trade at all . Very clean .
