Hello, Lady's Thank you for this very encouraging, useful video. With this videos guidance, my wife and I were able to successfully remove one of our home's cracked (inside pane only) double plane window Glass. I took it down to Century Glass here in Kamloops, to have a replacement fabricated. "Melody," who I first inquired as to cost, offered me a really great suggestion. Which was to take the cracked sealed unit back in order to temporarily fill the whole. Until the new sealed unit was ready, and to my surprise it was was ready for pickup in only two day's. That's Really Great customer service Century Glass! Again thank you Lady's for this inspiring video!
That's WONDERFUL to hear Mike. You're certainly welcome! I'll tell Sister. We're both so happy the video helped you and your dear wife fix your window pane. Proud of both of you, happy DIYing and carry on!
@Frugal DIY Thank you again for your acknowledgement! I posted videos of us successfully installing the new sealed glass unit, which we completed earlier today! It took a couple of hours, most of which was removing remnants of the 41+ years, sun side yet, old butyl tape. But, and again, your video gave us the encouragement to take this task on. My videos are my name 2703, I apologize for the lapses, I had a "brain fart" of sorts 8 years ago, from a skydiving crash. My speech, along with my left side don't always cooperate with me.
Ladies, that was refreshing and very informative...I thank you all, my family thank you all because of all the money which we save of replacing these defective windows ourselves... Again, thank you very much Ladies.
Thank you - trying to get a piece of glass removed and replaced from my Jeld-Wen Wood and Clad (exterior) fixed window. And, every guy I call says it's a problem because I have interior shutters with a center fixed piece that can't be removed without removing the entire shutter casing. However, watching this video and seeing the ease in which you replace your glass on your aluminum framed window - Jesus....I see that it will be no problem at all. Thank you!
dung, contact several local glass companies to get an estimate on a replacement pane. Keep the pane because they will need the exact measurements from it. It may well be cheaper to replace the entire window, as I have found in the past. The cost to replace a pane in one of my windows, cost twice as much as replacing the window myself. ;)
Thanks from Vancouver Canada! I appreciate the video. Will be removing and replacing from same style frame .
You're welcome from The USA! ;)
