Great tutorial Anthony! I had never seen that trick with the outer glow to remove that frustrating white halo. Thank you!

Very interesting technique. I tried it on a photo of a big leaf maple catkin that I took today. The flower in the original was isolated against a deep blue sky. Turned out nice.

I’ve always used Lightroom, but decided to learn PS now. I also use Topaz and Neo as plugins. PS is clearly powerful and glad I’m learning it, but I’m appreciating LR more and more for its simplicity, file management and time saving.

A variation on this would be to place the cut out budings out on to a new all black layer in place of the sky

You don't mind to have your edits "baked in" when adding the stamp layer?

Maybe you can help me out. I have upgraded to Photoshop 23.3.1 and when I try to use Camera Raw filter the interface is to large for the screen and there is no way to make it smaller. I even uninstalled and re-installed photoshop and no change. I downloaded and installed Camera raw 14.3 with no relief. Can you help me or let me know how to contact Adobe with this problem?

it would have been a fine technique if it had not been for the halo on the right building. It remains in spite of the outer glow edit.
