      Seonkyoung Longest is there any alternative to papayas? I love your videos and say a big hello to Jacob !!! 😎

    • @nkef06
      @nkef06 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Kristian Dimailig, another alternative would be to use asian vermicelli noodles.
      You can also use cabbage and cucumber to.

      LOL,...Seonkyoung Longest tells us here she has a minor problem with "r's" and "l's, same thing here, my problem is correctly pronouncing the letter r's, such a beautiful and nice lady, her smile is way better than a million bucks!

      Joe Serrano for Korean it is much harder.. because when certain consonant meets certain consonant..they made different sound..like when l meets r...r must be pronounced as l.. but she's cute..she just laugh it off..i like her personality and of course jer recipes are amazing!

    In the Philippines that's called
    atchara and that's side dish to roasted chicken or fried fish
    But atchara is there long beans
    There sugar ,green papaya, sikcho/ vinegar then for decoration they use carrots cut into flower and raisin then red capsicum/bell pepper
    Then you ferment it keep it in your fridge up to maybe a month

    You know my dear Seonkyoung, until recently 2013 onwards, I had no idea that green papayas could be eatened, thinking the only thing people would get would be a tremendous tummy ache, but no, the versatile yummy papaya can also be eatened GREEN, but in salads, looking forward to making this salad here but, first I've to make friends with people who have papaya trees in their yards, the only papayas sold here are the ripe and sweet ones, thumbs up to Jacob and you my dear buddy, and thank you yet again for another AWESOME Asian at home recipe! :)

    yumm!!!! papaya salad is perfect with sticky rice. I'm Hmong and we eat it like that all the time 😋😋😋 i usually add pa dek and tamarind paste as well. you can also substitute the papaya with cucumbers and carrots too. Another addition would be lettuce and vercimelli rice noodles. great job. My mouth is literally watering right now.

    I can’t wait to try your recipe! I love papaya salad!
    Maybe you can help me with another recipe! In my old neighborhood, I used to eat at a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant called Indochine in Palo Alto, and they serve a Napa cabbage & mushroom soup in a clear lemongrass broth as an appetizer with their lunches. I don’t know what it’s called, and haven’t been able to find any recipes online that look like they could be it. Do you know of such a soup? It was tangy & sour, and not cream-based at all. Thanks for the great recipes!

    I had no idea papaya salad can contain shrimp paste. I thought it use crab paste. Shrimp paste is mainly available at the Asian grocery store that I go to and it's so much cheaper than crab paste. This recipe is kinda like a Vietnamese version of papaya salad because it contain dried shrimp and that kind of shrimp paste. I don't mind since I'm Vietnamese :)
