I have recently been mystically drawn to watching the art of Balinese dancing on TH-cam. I find the Legong dances to be the most fascinating, with the exaggerated eye, head, and hand movements, and marvel at how the dancers can train their bodies to do them so fluidly!! I find it hard to describe with words, but I find in rather creepy, yet also very addicting! I am even becoming more comfortable with the sound of Gamelan music, which at first sounded to me like a chaotic din. I found Made's dancing to be very good, and very accomplished! He definitely has what he describes as Taksu!! I only wish I was a person of financial means, so that I could travel to Bali to see it all in person!!
I am a calligrapher, and I have been very deeply touched by Balinese Gong Kebyar since the first year I have been to Bali in 2009 and it then became an inexhaustible source of inspiration, but I was not interested by Balinese dance despite the beauty of the dancers until a few years later when I saw Alo dancing in Peliatan ! The expression of his face and his eyes and his graceful movments just opened an understanding about the meanings of the sacred dance inside me ! Alo if you read this let me tell you that you are a deep source of Taksu while you are dancing but also when you just speak like on this video. I pray God to allow you to become a great teacher and to open a beautiful and succesfull schooldance !
he is unique. i accept his dedication and extreme effort to honor his Balinese lineage in a beautiful and most expressive effort. accept him for what he is.
