Nothing happened to them, the bride just can’t afford one from a high end bridal shop. Her mom’s money could have stretched out a little more at a place like David’s bridal but bride probably just wanted to go on TV.

Right she says “get a ‘difficult mother’ to sign a contract,” I think it’s the daughter who is difficult. The mother was so logical. But for some reason a short dress was the bride’s vision, so what can you do? Smh

Even at the end of the video, she mentioned that her mom is "difficult." I am with her mom in this case. This 1950‘s type cocktail dress is ok but rather for a bridesmaid than a bride or maybe for the reception party if she enjoys dancing.? I am also not so keen on the flower bow thing. It makes the whole design outdated . Did they not have more options for her to choose from? Obviously it‘s the bride‘s choice and if she loves it , it“s great. Mom could have saved a lot of money on this purchase though if they had gone to a specialist shop for cocktail and tea length dresses from the starrt.

It's was almost identical to the one my sister-in-law wore, so I went back by myself to ask if I could change it, I could but I fell in love with a simple A line and detachable train and bow on the back, it was brand new for sale, she only just put it on the mannequin. In the end she had me try it on, she cried and told me I shouldn't wear any other dress, it was perfect, and it was, she let me have it as a rental. My Mum-in-law made my three tier cake with hand made icing roses and lacework, bought my shoes, headpiece and veil she was very special, we were very close, I was just 17 and blessed to call her Mum.

That was truly epic! Everyone is talking about the dress! This isn't about the dress at all. This is about the power structure between the bride and mom. The bride is stating that SHE will be in charge in her married life and Mama doesn't like it. The dress is the symbol of her taking control of her life. In spite of the rivalry, I think her mother made her strong.

When she said: why would you take a beautiful long wedding dress and chop it off at the knees?
My mom actually did, she had a long A-line dress and then after the wedding tailored it to be a short dress so she could wear it again, she never did but she still did and I’ve tried it on, it’s pretty. But it didn’t matter much if she did cause she got a great deal, she payed 90 dollars for it and it was only in 2000 so it was a great deal and although I think she chose it for the price it’s quite classic.

There's no way accesories can change someone's mind about a whole ass dress..

If I ever do get married, My dress is going to be Purple or Purple and Black or Black and red because that's me being me and not an usual bride XD

I really like the first dress that she came out in. It's very Audrey Hepburn.
It's interesting that comments are usually "it's the bride's choice what she wears" and then when she chooses her own thing, most of them are criticising her for not wanting to be railroaded by her mother.

Long dress looks better. She looks like a child going to a formal 😂
Definitely doesn't look like a bride in that.
