My name is Bre. I took two years of small engine repair at the local college. When I left school, I fell into a wonderful job at a local small engine shop where I worked the counter for a couple years. In 2010 my husband and I opened up our own small engine shop in central Arkansas where I am able to work alongside my family and best friends. We see over 2,000 pieces of small engine equipment every year, and answer 1,000's of small engine questions. We specialize in brands such as Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, Echo and Shindaiwa, but work everyday on MANY other brands like Stihl, Husqvarna, Honda, Craftsman, Remington, Red Max, Troy Bilt, Scag, Bad Boy, Hustler, World Lawn, Poulan, Mantis, Etc.. Hopefully, my experience I share, will save you Time, Money and Frustration in the future!

Can you do a story on fuel additives and particularly Stabill?
Chick, my echo weed trimmer did it while cutting, I kept cutting till I ran it out of gas. Put new gas in. Runs good a little while start back. Could it just be time for a new diaphragm?
Two years ago I spent hours looking for this video on TH-cam. Couldn't find it, so I couldn't fix my cousins trimmer.
She deemed me worthless.
Kicked me off her farm,
And now I'm back in the city working at Domino's pizza.
Life sucks lol.
Dayaummmm! Just tried this with my 'problem child' (Stihl BG85) and it worked like a charm. You've now shown me how to get it running, and, today, KEEP it running! Awesome. Frustration saved.
Awesome!
That bg85 or 86 is one amazing blower! Had one for many years and it just kept going using every day on roofs blowing out gutters. Even dropped it off a 40 ft 3 story once
@@Chickanic please if you can recommend a lawnmower I've got about 2,50 euros .it's not a lot ,but it's not a huge garden neither ,if you can answer please.
I am so amazed that a young lady like you teach this old man so much 😂 and you are quite entertaining as well. Thank you ❤
My dad always said, "If that was a Go-cart or Snowmobile you'd get it started"!😅
The ratio for fun time to work time.
That old snapper rider brings back memories of a dear old friend of mine. He had same snapper and cutting his lawn was therapy for him. He had a smile on his face the whole 3/4 of an acre. He also was a bee keeper, and grafted an apple tree to have four different apples. He owned and ran a popular bar and grill on a state university campus in new center Detroit. He’s in his nineties now and is doing about as good as you can that old.
I just love watching your videos. I’m a lady that works on all my things and I love getting all the ideas from you. Thanks for your videos.
@UCbOYlQm555CQffcsz8U94Lg don’t understand what you’re asking lol
Wow, you’re good. I literally search your videos when I have a problem and consider your videos “professional development” even though I’m not a landscaper and just a Joe Schmo taking care of his stuff.
All of my gasoline equipment is kept full of gas and I run them at least every two weeks. They are kept at the door of my shop so they are not "out of sight, out of mine". My gasoline generator is run monthly, under varying loads until it runs out of the pint of gasoline I put in it. I have NEVER had an issue with any generator I have ever owned doing this routine. It's on my calendar to do regularly!
Great channel! Thanks for all the videos!
Wish I was that dedicated. I can do monthly stuff on some things but not my lawn equipment
@@scotchdrnkr Disney has a very effective way of exercising their emergency generators. They disconnect from the electric utility and run on the generators for the overnight shift.
my last generator wouldn't level off this year, rodding out the jet didn't fix it, so I bought a new one. - the old one is 18 years old, and showing signs of electrical gremlins as well. the big problem I had during that time was ethanol related. old one will go to the saw shop to get worked up and will go into the family shop for storage.
Same here!

Well I'll be darn.
That is exactly what I have been doing with my trimmer for years.
Tried to get my neigher to do it but he was afraid he would blow up his engine.
So I just do it for him, because it works !
Thanks for your videos.
Take Care
Just ordered the Depstech HD Endoscope with discount AND coupon! You certainly saved me MONEY on this one and soon will save me frustration and time with this one. Thank you soooo much for your dedication to continuing these wonderful videos!
Had that problem before. Took the carb off and cleaned it. But next time, I will use your tip. Thanks.
Wow! Been doing that for years and didn’t know why!
I have used that trick for over 45 years and it has not failed me yet.
Those old tricks are like an old timex watch that takes a liking and keeps on ticking.
Ahh, so THAT is what's happening. Great tip, Bre. Danke mucho, madamoiselle.
I have timbered property and have been logging and cutting my firewood and of course cutting for friend s and family for 50 yrs than someone asked if i knew of you well I started checking and you have really been spot on thanks refreshing this old guys memory ❤
Perfect timing! Started struggling with my push mower yesterday.
I love those old snappers.
That’s what my leaf blower is doing, bogging down. I’ll have to try that! Thanks Bre! You’re awesome!
I live in south central North Carolina. My Craftsman tiller has been sitting for THREE YEARS with the same gas in it. It also has Ethanol Shield in the gas. I got it out Sunday and checked it out. It started on the FOURTH pull and ran flawless!!! Ethanol Shield really works!
Wow! I love the fact that you show other women that, “ I can do it!” Spirit! I look forward to a video on Pressure Washers, I will be getting mine out of the shed and cleaning my white vinyl fence. Hopefully she will start. 😂
Great tip on starting equipment after a long rest period. This has to be the best down to earth channel on the internet as far as I am concerned.
What a simple and obviously, effective fix/test!!!!
Like others have said, Thank You for all the tips you willingly gift to us!
Living my best La Vida Loca here in south eastern Arizona
Thanks for the tip and the news about the endoscope...... I ordered one finally!
Just a thank you for you being you. You are very much appreciated. Please don't stop
Thanks, I'll give it a go.
Worked like a charm on my Stihl BG86 that would bog down coming off idle. Such a simple yet effective solution!
Did a similar thing to mine with the same symptoms. After a few it ran great! 30 year old Homalite ST-185
Second time I’m watching this video just to make sure I didn’t miss anything 😊
Thanks 🙏
Dad had two Snappers like that. Bulletproof !! But he took care of them and replaced the drive wheel occasionally. He used them for pulling a wagon of firewood up a hill for 20 years. And mowing.
My gosh, I love this woman. She has helped me so much with my small engines.
real straight forward and no nonsense. great channel
I have a Maruyama BT23L that had this issue last fall but snowblower was at the top of list for attention.after watching today I went through this process for about 2 minutes and problem solved thank you for the tips
Great tip
I have the same problem with my Stihl blower. If I had only known i wouldn't have replaced the carb for a second time. Thanks for the tip.
Your energy is cool!
Thank you so much this got my Troy-Bilt leaf blower working properly again. Model Tb-430. Was about to try cleaning the spark arrestor but this was the issue all along.
Thanks for the tip.
Just ordered the endoscope thru your link. Total cost shipped was $43.18. Thanks
Thanks 🙏. Your support really helps in hard times like now and hopefully you will keep making videos and busy summer because it’s going to be a dry one according to the dove 😊
Hello, I'm in UK been doing small engines for over 20yrs..,..yet IV picked up on someny tricks ect that iv not thought about.
Guess we all don't know everything in this game.
Fantastic vlog....vids.... keep them up chapess.
Thanks Chickanic. Always enjoy your videos.
Actually, that is a cool trick I learned by accident years ago! It works!
Thanks for the heads-up on the tach! I finally scored one. Excellent video as always!
That rear engine Snapper is the coolest machine you have! I own one that's around 50 years old. I always use fresh fuel and maintenance it regularly. Cuts my uneven acre perfectly.
I learned something today. Thank you!
Thanks for all the great tips. I run an auto repair shop and a friend has a tree service, so i have been getting all the burned out chainsaws. Your videos have been so helpful for me to understand the finer points dealing with those repairs. Plus it is a nice break to do something a bit different. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. May GOD bless.
Great tip on using the choke. Thank you
I have also heard of priming ATF (transmission) fluid thru the carb before storage.
Wow! It is so simple and easy. I learned a long time ago, run the equipment dry before storage, but this little trick will save time and money for a lot of people. It pays to listen to the experienced professional about anything, I can't imagine how much grief this will save folks.Mech's could be a little miffed that you are drying up their easy money, but I'm not. Thanks for the intel...
Wow.... you don't have any idea how many times I have had to dismantle the whole carb, etc for this particular problem...THANK YOU !! Greetings from the Caribbean 🙂
Thanks, I ordered another endoscope because it was so cheap and a tach. Nice tip on the trimmer as well. Thanks!
Thank you! Your my go to Chickanic! 😊
Great job as usual! What a great tip. I ordered my scope and had to use it twice already! Thanks for all you share.
Great trick I’ve been doing this for a while now always love watching your videos
Great tips,thanks so much.
Hey! I tried your “use Mix in the tank and bulb it thru for the offseason” and it worked awesome. 3rd pull!
What a neat tip. Thanks!
I had my chainsaw bog like that last time I used it. I just let it idle for a few minutes. That is a great tip to know.
Great tip, we won't get bored down now hun❤
Great tip, I've talked a few customers out of sales by directing them to your channel (I work part-time at a big box hardware store, mostly on weekends). They come back for all their maintenance items and when they need something else, so it all evens out in the end in my opinion (my employer might think otherwise). Plus most repair shops around my area want $30 just to look at a small engine that might need repair.
Thanks for the tip on the trimmer! You can also check your fuel with a piece of clear vinyl tubing. Stick it in the fuel tank then put your finger over the top end and pull it out or you can use a mitey-vac to suck some up and take a look😊
You are going to broke the bank with all these awesome tips...thank you,it really worked!!!
One love everytime
Great trip! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Ma'am for the suggestion on the two stroke. I have a two stroke power head that I got so frustrated with I said the heck with it and went with a 4 stroke power head replacement. I'll pull that two stroke out (after a few years) and see if I can resurrect it.
Thanks for a the good tips. Love watching your videos.
Thank you. Awesome channel.
❤❤ love the pool table many yrs of fun with it
I did what you said in one of your other videos and drained the gas and put two cycle oil in and used the primer to get it through lines and carburetor. Hopefully no problems when I try it again.
Thanks! I'm going to give that a try on our old one. I don't know how old it is, but I've been trying to get it going again. My dad used to use it, but hasn't for years. It had a cracked primer bulb and bad gas lines that I replaced along with a fuel filter. I got it running, but it was doing this last time I tried it. I'm anxious to give it a try.
Great information thank you!
Awesome! TY!
Thanks for the fix😊
great hint to get things loosened up from winter storage! I do not know if is the thing to do,
but I try and run all the gas out of the motor.so it is dry until u put gas in to the unit.
I also use a bit of carb cleaner in the gas. to clean out any glazing from any gas residue.
Great video try that trick this spring
Thanks again for your tips.
Love your Tip's and Tricks !!!!
Great tips ,thanks 👌 👍
brilliant! thank you for sharing
Thank you! I haven't watched the whole thing, but I know your information will be fruitful!!!
I love the tip. Didn’t know about hitting the choke like that. I always just kept bumping the throttle until it frees up and once it does I peg it until it gets up to rpm. A little tip about 2 strokes, if you are tuning an engine and it goes from too rich to too lean and you can’t get it right, the carb needs rebuilt. Stop and take it to a shop or rebuild it. Could go lean and blow it up if your not careful
Awesome tip! All these years and i've never thought to repeatedly move the choke on and off! I'm definitely going to try that this season, because i left fuel in everything from last season... I usually, get them to start up, let them idle "usually" on half choke for about 5 minutes, which eventually gets them running, but damn ur way is much faster lol! Love the video, i'm excited for the 2024 season! Let's Gooo!
I've been through this a couple of times with my Husqvarna 128LD trimmers, even to the point of replacing the carburetor, spark plugs, etc. on one. Then I found out all you have to do is remove the little screen on the exhaust port and clean the oil residue out of it with solvent or carb cleaner. Fixes the bogging-out problem for me every time.
Great Video ! You work with power tools like you do you get to see the problems first hand , most people never fix anything they use it & take it to a shop for fixing, I think if people can just watch you & understand what needs done it would save them time & money :) I'm 100% off grid so I can't afford to pay someone else to fix for me, So a little self learning with most things :)
Thank you great tip on trimmer
I thought you'd say replace the fuel. So easy! Thanks, Bree! Good luck with the repaired items sales.
You convinced me , have a nice day .
Thank you Bre!! You are the best!
Worked great, Thanks
Great Info.... Thank You !
Thanks Bre , I have to do that to mine nearly every season , keep the vids coming
I bought the bore camera and I didn't use the coupon because I thought you had to take Amazon Prime to use it. I don't buy enough for that to be beneficial. The camera is great! Thanks!
Chick, Where have you been my whole life... your a god send.
Great tip on the choke thing, will have to try that next time one of my two strokes acts up like that. And Red Armor is the best! That's all I use for my two strokes, I think it's the cleanest burning two stroke oil I've used.
Depstech HD Endoscope Order one when the video was over. Thanks Bre for the infro
You’re the best.
Fun and informative!
Brie your an amazing woman and a brilliant repair shop person
Thank you again, I always learn something new with you. 👍🥰
My favorite rider is the snapper! Just seems to always work
