Totally understand about spring compressor tools. So dont get cheap steel one.....get one that is made from good steel.
Learn how to use the tool correctly.
Most of those mishaps i can guarantee were user error

That spring is held by the a-arm under tension. if there is not enough weight, that spring could launch itself out of the pocket.
