    Students getting into college these days are 100x more accomplished than I was when I got in... it feels like it's getting more and more competitive every year! My kids will have it so tough xD Congrats on Stanford Serena, working world will be smooth sailing for you with the experiences and people you'll meet at Stanford!

    Hi! my transition from 8th to 9th grade was taugh, I wasn't suppose be to in ESL class in 8th grade but the school put me in that class because there no seats in regular classes, so it didn't prepared me for high school sicne ESL classes were much easier than regular class, it did affetc my 9th grade grades, since there's a big difference in ESL classes and honor classes, I took honor classes in 9th grade. Should I explain that to colleges and they'll understand? Does it count as an extenuating circumstance? Thank you!!

    Hi, congrats on all your acceptances! How expensive is it to go to those schools? (particularly as the lower end of the upper middle class)

    • @serenahh5119
      @serenahh5119  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      ooh its quite expensive if you don't qualify for financial aid (around 2/3x more expensive than state public schools, ~80k). but top privates are usually more generous with financial aid and even as the lower end of the upper middle class you may qualify for some (ex. if you have a sibling in college too). but that being said if you can def afford college (over 80k a year) without any problems you prob won't get any 😔

    Didn’t do that well at National Science Olympiad and National Science Bowl though bc bad team
    Hope I can also be a Regeneron STS Finalist since a bunch of people from my old school get to T40 every year!
    My current HS offers like 25 APs but I only took 20
