    I do own a 2017 XD diesel I have to say I made the right choice. I test drove the big 3 2500's first before driving the titan XD. For the price and ride and capability, Titan is a great middle truck. For the money, the Titan is a better purchase. He did not mention one of the best features about the ride is the Zero gravity seats, if you have not sat in one then you should give it a try. I really like my truck and would recommend other to give this truck a chance.

      I purchased two 2016 PRand 2017 SL XD 8ft bed... Truck is awesome. Stock tires suck, I change over to continental tires. Installed K&N cold intake filter. 👍👌

    I just bought one, loaded exactly the same. MSRP was $61k, paid $46.6k after rebates, discounts. In my opinion best truck you can buy for the money.

    I don't subscribe lightly, but I'm subscribing to your channel because of how well you handle idiots in the comments. It's refreshing, and most of the people you jump on deserve it because they're stupid. Thank you for your great service in bringing intelligence and common sense back to TH-cam.

    I have a 2016 with 20k miles on it. So far a perfect truck for its intended purpose. Some minor issues that Nissan has addressed. Anyone looking at a new truck should give it a look.

    Overall, the XD is a very nice truck. It has many features the others do not. It would be made better if it had: an exhaust brake; a floating rear axle; a larger fuel tank. It is better for its warranty, features, and no recalls for 2017. The CTD engine and the Aisin tranny cannot be beat. The price discounts I see now make the XD attractive, and hope they continue in future. Cummins has engineered a new 4cyl 4.5L engine that produces even more torque than the 5.0L and should achieve much better mpg, and with no egr! I hope Nissan uses this new engine asap for 2019.

      Unless you are towing all the time and need more torque there is NO reason to get that diesel over the gas engine----it doesn't even offer better fuel economy so why bother? But that heavy XD frame is nice

    Just an FYI most truck stops I have been to have DEF at the pumps and its cheaper too. Just if you are ever looking again. I drove from St Louis to Salt Lake City in my Titan, I checked at the Loves and Flying J stops along I70 and they for sure had DEF at the pump.

      dash computers are accurate to 5% if at least 300 miles are on the clock so used the computer. I like the truck but unless a lot of towing is being done, the gas V8 makes more sense...and costs far less. But that HD XD frame is rugged.

    What the heck is a TIE Tan? Misunderstood and mispronounced....one word Tie tun

    • @jeremyshaw1
      @jeremyshaw1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Originally, it was TIE Tan, however, after some time, we reduced it to TIE tn. I'll just chalk it up to personal pronunciation. People who pronounce homogeneous incorrectly (this happens a lot in mathematics) often tell other people off for pronouncing it incorrectly. At this point, I just find it all amusing.

    “TIE-TAN” roflmao. He live under a rock? Lowering the headlight beam is t for preference, it’s for when you’re hauling a heavy load. You can then lower the beam so as not to blind oncoming drivers.

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A. It was pronounced TIE_TAN when it fist came out and that s good enough for me B. So you adjust the headlights for loads--so why are you telling me? I didn't say you couldn't C. Stick to making dog videos...

    Poor mpg and major problems according to many websites. Mostly transmission and dealers not knowing how to fix anything right the frist time. Most videos from xd owners it is when they traded them for a 3/4 without the problems.

      chad haire when you consider the bigger Cummins get better fuel mileage

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The bigger diesels get 13 city 18-19 highway--the same as this smaller engine. The advantage here is this one is less expensive to buy. Bigger diesels mean bigger heavier trucks with $75K price tags, stiff suspensions that beat you to death on the street and CANNOT be taken off road for 4x4, and too large to park....A truck and engine this size is far more practical....and can be taken off road without all the parts bouncing off. And can be had for about $52K with less options...

    • @johnw391
      @johnw391 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      chad haire I looked at buying A xd and where I live they are getting 15 to 20 k off due to not low sales but for a truck that most people who own it trade them in or have nissian buy it back due to being in the shop for same problems. I drove a xd and it was a nice riding truck with enough power for me. But 2018 f150 is my next truck Platinum way to go

    • @chadhaire1711

    All the money goes overseas thats all that matters

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Sorry partner--that is bullshit...That Titan money might go overseas but when it comes back for American workers to build plants to make things here it didn't stay there. Compared to the American name trucks where the money goes to Detroit then goes out of the country to build plants in Mexico for Mexican workers instead of us---your NAFTA crap at work screwing Americans. . So in the end Toyota and Nissan are PRO AMERICAN --think you had better take another look at your logic.....

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      On the money trail you are ignoring that USA is a small part of Nissan income--in fact most of Nissan is run and owned by the French and most of that income comes from Europe & Asia overall--NOT USA. I bet we dont see you dumping your phone, stereo, TV, kitchen gadgets, ALL made in Asia. The computer you are sending this email on is made in Asia...and that so-called Chevy, Ram , Colorado, truck you see on the road put American workers out of a job so Mexicans and Asians could get them instead. And Ram is owned by the Italians--made in Mexico-------the money goes to Italy--a 100% import if there ever was one---so would you buy a RAM truck?
      The "buy American" movements sounds good but is based on hot air.

    • @skyisdlimit6125
      @skyisdlimit6125 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      chad haire super agree wit you brother! I always have a good talk with my buddy about his super belief that if you don’t buy “Detroit 3” you’re not being a good American yada yada yada. I always tell him the same thing over and over but no use. They will just filter everything you’ll tell them cause they are stuck with the flawed mentality. I also don’t like the idea that we bailed and loaned money to the Detroit 3 but in the end they still want us to pay more and more for their vehicles. Owning GM trucks, they have the worst finance ever with GM financial. I still try to help by buying American made products and even serving the military but when it comes into my hard earned money, I’m not gonna try to limit my thoughts in other brands cause they are not “American” and knowing the bad practices by the Detroit 3, they don’t care about people, they care more about your wallet.

    horrible gas milage, my ecoboost gets 25 mpg all day long, plus will run circles around this thing

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      A. The fuel economy is standard for a diesel pulling this much torque. B. The only way that ECO Boost is going to get 25 mpg is going 40 mph in a 70 zone or drive down a mine shaft. At 75 mph there is NO Ecoboost getting better than 20 mpg. C. Try towing 12,000 pounds with that Eco engine---well you can't and if you did it would suck twice as much gas and burn itself up. D. Your ECO will run circles with an empty bed, but not loaded up hauling 2,000 pound loads--the diesel wins...obvious you don't tow much......E. Sounds like you have not watched my F150 videos...so i suggest you do...

    • @louiesboys7161
      @louiesboys7161 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      my 2017 3.5 eb has 470 pounds of torque, when you not laying into it gas milage is great, but I tow occasionally so that's when I pay

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      tested all the ECO Boost engines--the 3.5 average is 16.5 mpg compared to the V-8 at 16, and 2.7 ECO at 17.5, and Raptor at 15.5 mpg........REAL world figures...and at 75 mph cruising NONE will get better than 20 mpg if they are 4x4 models--add 1 mpg for 2x4..then you "might" see 21 mpg...MIGHT...on a good day...but don't hold your breath,,,,,.........................................The Nissan Titan XD is the best deal for someone who tows a lot but doesn't want a monster $70,000 truck that is going to beat you to death on an empty bed---you can go 4x4 off road with the titan XD in comfort with an empty bed---you can't do that with the bigger diesel truck stiff suspensions...it will tear the truck apart, and the driver too....and can be had for about $55K less big discounts---some dealers have been selling the diesel for as low as $50K....a bargain in my book....plus you can always get one with the gas V-8 and save more......I like it....

    • @louiesboys7161
      @louiesboys7161 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you must have a lot of free time on your hands, all I know is I drive a 17 model 3.5 eb 4x4 crew and it gets between 18 to 25 MPG, did some towing one time, 7000 pound camper and got 13mpg, I only tow occasionally, plus did 14 second 1/4 mile pass at atco drag strip hit 97 mile per hour through the traps, its a lot of fun to drive, will run circles around a any diesel

    • @chadhaire1711
      @chadhaire1711  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Free time on my hands? hahahaha hmm lets see:
      A. I have free time to test $1.5 million worth of cars & trucks every year....
      B. I have driven all the ecoboost trucks....a 4x4 with 3.5 is NEVER going to see over 20 mpg on the freeway, and I mean a a REAL freeway going 75 mph, not some country bumpkin road at 50-55 mph, which you are obviously doing. Please don't try to tell me/us otherwise--i have been doing this for a while.
      C. Same with towing....13 mpg towing 7,000 lbs isn't going to happen at 75 mph, but if you live in some back road area where the speeds run 50/55 mph you can do it, but that is NOT realistic driving and does NOT mean much to the majority of truck owners who don't drive like that.
      D. Trucks like this Titan diesel are far more comfortable towing 7,000 pounds, the engine is more relaxed doing so, and yet it is still comfortable driving off road, and in daily commuting. By comparing this Titan to your ECO Boost you are comparing an apple to an orange........but I made that rather clear in the video which you must have streamed through in a hurry without paying attention. Plus it is obvious you have not watched my Ford f150 videos...so better get on that--you might learn something....
