    Sir, when we accept our mistakes, no one can hold them against us. We are all human, prone to make mistakes, we learn from them, and we move on, much the wiser.

    • @southhillfarm2795

      Actually Mike the joke is on the people that are willing to spend that kind of money on as truck. Trucks hold their value better than cars but a consumer has to have a real good reason to buy a new one. I am self employed and for me it can be a marketing tool but even then Its a pretty expensive way to go. As far as my 6 liter powerstroke, yes they started off with a bad reputation but they are proving to be quite good trucks over the long haul. I bought mine when it was 9 years old and needed a good oil cooler cleaning, EG valve cleaning and a turbocharger cleaning. Not a cheap dealership trip, but after 9 years from the previous owner I can't complain since I bought this vehicle fairly cheap.
      This Nissan is a beautiful truck but at $57,000, it takes away a lot of the beauty.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All of these trucks are getting expensive, South Hill Farm. We just saw another review of a truck from a different brand that was over $67k! When they're loaded with luxurious features and tech, these trucks command some luxurious prices. We say keep your diesel until it starts to give you signs of problems or until you're truly ready to make the jump. If you track the current prices and mentally prepare, it makes the eventual new purchase less painful. We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!

    Nissan Titan XD has problems with driveshaft. The problem is caused by a "resonance frequency" that occurs at speeds above 75 mph. Vibrations caused by a condition that occurs in the power train systems at speeds above 75 mph and continued operation causes the transmission and driveshaft components to fracture. The problem is unnoticeable until it causes damages and the truck quits moving while driving. Also, truck can roll away if parked without the parking brake engaged.

    I'm shocked that you feel the steering is tough, I've owned one for about a month and a half and think it's one of the smoothest steering setups ive owned so far lol!

      ldimillo19 can I ask which type XD ur driving??

    • @ldimillo19
      @ldimillo19 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      17 Cummins, pro-4x - which I also have aftermarket wheels, and slightly larger off road-ish tires, which is why I'm surprised. I've owned a lot of older cars with no power steering and quite a few heavy duty trucks so maybe that has something to do with it haha.

    • @dearmeat5386
      @dearmeat5386 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been fighting over moving from my f150 to this mainly for the XD portion since I tow a 5th wheel. Anything else you can share about it?? Thnx for the reply.

    • @ldimillo19
      @ldimillo19 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've owned a truck from all of the manufacturers, aside from Toyota, and i'm not sure what it is but Nissan has always been my favorite. I've personally never had any major mechanical issues, aside from unavoidable wear and tear and maintenance, with any of the trucks I've owned. Before I got the new titan I had a 2012 Titan which I absolutely loved but was unfortunately totaled in an accident with a drunk driver, that was my favorite truck I've ever owned, and now so far this new titan is everything that was PLUS it has a cummins... Can't go wrong in my opinion. To be perfectly honest with you, I'd stretch out the life of your F150 as long as you can and let them go through a few revision generations with this Titan, I haven't had any issues so far but i'm sure it being first gen of a whole new concept a few issues will pop up. I had to get a new truck and this was the obvious choice for me, don't regret it a single bit. My BIGGEST complaint is that you cannot get a sunroof in any trim level. I'm a sunroof addict, but I had one cut into the last titan, will probably end up doing the same thing with this.

    • @ldimillo19
      @ldimillo19 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      of course you aren't going to get the same tow capacities as the other manufacturers heavy duty trucks, but i'm not towing anything over 5 tons these days so i'd buy this again and again.

    • @AutoAcademics
      @AutoAcademics  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That statement was in reference to the Titan XD being compared to heavy duty full-size pickup trucks. While some base HD pickups can be purchased for around $30k, those that are as well-appointed as this Titan XD start around $60k and go up from there. We can see how that comment may have been misleading, Rhonda Palmer, and we hope this clears things up. Sometimes we need to be more diligent about sharing the random info in our collective heads with all of you. We appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching!

    I bought a 2017 Titan SV crew cab on Nov.1 The first month it was great. I now get the surging issues when it is cold. Just a minor issue as it clears up soon. The other issue I have is the transmission seems like it is slipping when I am towing a heavy load up steep hills in West Virginia. Does anyone else have a issue like this? It is fine when i am empty but it is pretty rough shifting and cant find a gear sometimes when loaded.

    • @mhtl48
      @mhtl48 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Bought in Nov. 1" and "The 1st month it was great"? HAHA, you must be trolling. It's been 2 weeks since you wrote on this post and it's now just a few days over 1 month! lol +autoacademics I drove the ford 250 the Silverado 2500 and the ram. To me it was no question. I chose the chevy and I will agree the steering is heavy on this one too but I'm sure it has something to do with the level and my wheels and tires. Came from a frontier. A shame the titan xd wasn't out when I needed to purchase.

      thesarv88 Yeah, Nissan might be on to something with this XD. When they gave us a press briefing on it last year, we were like "Whatever!" It's not a light duty, yet it's not a full-blown HD, either. It's just marketing! Then they sent us one. Verdict: Really nice truck that actually merges the good stuff from both worlds. Man, we should have put that in our review!
