humbled by the kind words of support. talking about personal stuff is always difficult, as you put yourself in a voulnerable spot in front of thousands of strangers. But i woke up feeling more like i had talked to thousands of friends ♥️
A little bit of a late reply but that was a nice personal video, it deserves the same in response. I really love your videos. You're a natural in front of the camera. Which puts you in an immediate good category believe it or not, because some people feel the need to overact just a little to be 'entertaining' and it's just not my cup of tea. I think first of all, don't be afraid of the occasional touch like this. People develop a bit of a connection (not too much now!) to people they follow on YT and you clearly have the sense to know what is too much. Lastly, for advice... oh boy first don't change. You got this far on your instincts. If anything I might suggest an 'addition' rather than change. I'd suggest you have lots of levels of followers, but to break things down to a simple level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced. Maybe, do some specialized videos catering to those types, in addition to what you do now. That way you won't feel bad about leaving some people out. It might free you up creatively instead of always aiming for the middle. Apologies if you feel you do this already... I do see your "best beginner synth" content.
Big +1 to this. We all love synths because they're fun. We like watching other people have fun with synths. So yeah... keep it fun! It would be REALLY fun to see you experiment with gear combos, since so much modern stuff is intended to work not on its own but with other stuff. But again. FUN! :)
What I really admire in you is that you are raising your kids and take care of your family and their future while you are doing all the TH-cam stuff. Personally I think that's the greatest achievement. Cheers, Ralph
Thank you for being real. For whatever my opinion is worth: I say that if you continue to educate and inspire while having fun in the process, I wouldn’t ask for anything more.
Really touching to hear you speak so personally! I’m also learning that joy is a fundamental part of health (dealing with post Covid) so keep it as fun as you can :)
You have changed my life Bo. I suffer from IBS as well but got through it partly from rediscovering my love for music, and you are a part of my recovery. Thank you!
Love your health is improving and the new studio looks neat! ❤ As a person who has been there (not feeling fun anymore) the most liberating thing for me was outsourcing the video editing. Even thought of 5-10 hours editing session was draining my mental energy and I was not realizing it. And then I realized I wanted to outsource even more stuff so I can focus even more on the things that genuinly make me happy. That can help you, too. But whatever happens, I am looking forward to see upcoming videos from you in however form. ✨
Hey Bo! Please keep in mind, that while there are many channels out there doing synth stuff, there is only yours, that features yourself! While I came here when researching for gear, I stay because it is fun watching YOU doing Bo-Stuff! Happy to hear your health is getting better, love to hear you are staying a little longer! Thanks for your awesome work!
Thank you for your videos, reviews, and honesty. I was first diagnose with IBS, told it was stress. I did a "fibroscopie," and was diagnose with something more serious, and pre-cancerous (Barrett Oesophagus), which is now treated in time. Just sharing if that can be helpful to anyone.
Definitely super important to get all testing done before concluding its IBS. I've had a lot of tests done and nothing seems out of the ordinary, thankfully.
I ordered the Solar 42 based on your review. Not because I hang on your every word. Because I understand that you mean every word and have a balanced view. Thank you. Keep well, look after yourself Bo.
Thank you Bo! 👍 Just wanted to say: 1. We love Your all around content 2. You, unlike others, show your human side. Not everyone can know or want to do this. What makes your style unique. 3. You have a lot of interesting insights. And sometimes insights into this field are just as important to music producers or music lovers, such as synthesizers. 4. One piece of advice I would suggest is to upload content that is not necessarily reviews. Like making beats. tips. tricks Not every video of yours has to be a project, it can both make it easier for you and generate a high frequency of content that will attract more followers. Stay strong, healthy, and keep making music! 💪❤
I think the most important is that you're feeling good with your videos. The more you have fun and (again) be the synth nerd, the better your videos are as we can feel your passion and let it be combined with ours. So, meet friends, play around and test the gear in a way that no other youtuber does. With your knowledge about gear, comparisons of older and new stuff would really make sense. But again: enjoy your work and we will enjoy it too!
Hey Bo!! Thanks for being so open and honest! Its important we talk more about the human side of what’s going on behind the camera ❤️ I’m just happy you’re feeling better and also think that keeping it fun and light is the key. Most importantly, bring back the sip of the coffee intro😂 love you brother🙌🏻
I love your easy going attitude Bo. As a fellow IBS sufferer stress is my catalyst - music creation is my antidote. Just be careful about drinking too much coffee. It really affects me. Wishing you all the best
Watching you being you and having fun is why I'm here. Those videos you made back when you lived elsewhere, the ones in which you were not reviewing anything, not showing us any instruments or gadgets or playing any music, just talking to us about your life, your work, and sharing a bit about your health issues -- those videos engaged and fascinated me. You'd be walking along some semi-rural pathway, apparently alone with simple gear like a small camera or smartphone on a selfie stick with these beautiful golden Autumn leaves in the background. I found those videos so refreshing. It felt like we were two friends taking a walk outside on a lovely day in October, talking about life, the universe, and everything. I love your gear reviews and remain in awe of the time and good work you put into those, but it's YOU -- your persona, intelligence, and playful, good-natured way of relating to us, that keeps me coming back here. I'm so glad your introspection has led you to this insight about the need to have fun again. You, my friend, are back on The Path!
You're doing great! Amazing job! You have that special touch in your videos. Even if they are about gifts. What I'm trying to say is that we are here to see you talking about random things that make you happy about music and gear, and that's great enough, we share that joy!! No need to change!
Hej Bo - first thing to say is that always, always look after your health first. Many of us struggle with ill health and we live in a world where work is deemed more important than our own health. So prioritise yourself. As for me - I just like listening to you. Whether it's a review, comparison or your own music - I learn something everytime. You are one of the few I listen to on a regular basis. Just do your thing Bo. Hugs, Sammi
Bo, one thing to understand about yourself as a synth TH-camr is that we are loyal to you and enjoy your videos because it’s you. You’re a friendly approachable enjoyable guy to watch. Yes, you’re a synth nerd with some knowledge but there are plenty of those. You’re putting in the work and being a cool guy. I think having fun is an integral part to keeping that vibe alive. Just keep being you dude!
I love your videos, don't change! You use everyday equipment that many of us already have, and show us how to use them. I loved the videos where you show how things are hooked up. I don't need a comedic channel, or an in depth capacitor discussion. I thoroughly enjoy the lighthearted discussions, and your knowledge easily comes through! Keep it up!
I watch your channel because of you, and not the gear. Making it accessible not just to the hard core nerds, but those with a more passing interest. I know fundamentally what I want is to make music, and synths allow me to do that. I buy very little but work very hard, so its nice to watch someone enjoy new gear even if I will never buy it myself. Also love the family vibe - my family have the casting vote on my work and thats a real help - the love comes from everywhere and thats when its gets good.
Not sure who and why wouldn’t like this type of videos. We as a viewers get to know intimately better the person we watch, learn from all year round. What can be better? I’m glad your are better and hope to see you online for years to come. About videos. Continue make what you like please and I’ll watch it.
Im in my first year of slowly anti manual reading learning analog synth, and I don't have history watching this channel extensively, but you are alwasys in my algorhythm and honestly, I trust you. Im sure you get this a lot but thanks for existing, I am an ap erson on the spectrum/adhd and youve felt the struggle of just getting the grasp of everything, I saw your video about acquiring way too many synths too early, obvi not knowing how itd compliment or function very well. you do a great job! thanks for all of this.
Hi! There is a category of people who are absolutely physically limited in movement. For example, I will never be able to attend any event. What is remembered in your report on synthesizer exhibitions is how you convey the atmosphere of the event. That's how I started watching your channel when you made a report not about the boxes, but about the environment, about the atmosphere of the event. After all, there are a lot of people who talk about hardware. And no one knows about the landscape. Thanks!
Respect to you. I actually enjoy and connect to the personal videos much more than the gear videos. Obviously I like seeing gear and especially witnessing the process of other people but having a personal note helps it resonate with me and it feels more like a community than if it's just about the gear, which has saturated TH-cam in my humble opinion. In any case, very much looking forward to more of these videos and all the best for the future. Bless
Sometimes you have to stop, take a step back and think about what it is you want. I find your videos very inspiring. I really liked the video where you built a studio in your home. It reminds me of when I did the same thing a couple of years ago. Greetings from a synth lover in Sweden.
it's your kind personality, passion for music, dedication for quality content and videos, and your empathic will for connection and exchange, that make you who you are. Keep listening to the right voices in and around you, Bo, You're a master :)
Hi Bo. For multiple reasons, your channel was always my n°1 go to synth channel. The spontaneity, the simplicity, the fun, the walk & talk about gears and music production, coffee with Bo etc... You made your channel a universe of your own! Please don't make your channel a "reviews only" channel (yes, i like your reviews so much too). Take a gear that attracts you, have fun with it and share with us your fun and what you think about it... And what ? A road in that beautiful nature ?? The world goes wrong :-( I wish you all the best.
I got into synths due to your help. I remembered the playfulness and the joy you showed in your first video. Keep having fun and inspire with what you have, be mindful of GAS. Keep your stock on the ice my brother. Peace and light from Canada.
I came for the reviews but stayed for the content and personality. I love your content and I think it is hands down the best synth channel out there. As for what content I would love to see more of? Guides and tips and tricks. Building various setups; how to build a small setup that is easy to stow away when living in an apartment with kids for instance. Or various setups for different kind of music. Things like that.
I'm not commenting here often, but I watch almost every video you uploaded. Good to know that your health situation has improved. Cheerz from northern germany 🙌
Hey No!! Happy you're doing better health wise! It's such a delicate thing that we tend to leave second plan and that we take for granted. Not saying it is your case, I've just seen it so many times around me. As for future content type... Truth be told, I definitely enjoy watching playful videos more than serious walkthroughs ... Although I do appreciate a walkthrough here and there too, but playful definitely keeps things more interesting! Oh, and congrats on the new house and studio!
Keep doing what you enjoy. Your videos have been really useful to me - particularly the dawless setup videos / gear comparisons. I value your opinion because it comes across as honest. It's also great seeing you have fun with the gear.
Hey Bo, greetings from Argentina. You practically introduce me to the synth world a few years ago, in fact I bought my first synth (obviously was the original Minilogue) because of your videos. Just do whatever makes you happy and keep up the great work, cheers!
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos. I've been following you from Switzerland since the beginning ... A few videos on your ideal workflow and setup would be welcome. Keep up your fun of making music!
Been going through some similar experiences related to the music not being as "fun" as it used to be, hearing you talking about it made me feel better ... and gave me a bit more focus ... thanks for that! I watch your videos for YOU, more than the technical bits. Approaching it somewhat playfully is what got you here in the first place, I think getting back to feeling that same way is spot on. You bring out our curiosity and the little kids still within us all. Appreciate what you do!
Wow! I was just contemplating the same idea with my own professional life. I’m at a point where my experience and potential can’t get any higher without relaxing more and having more fun with it! It’s great to see you sharing your own experience! Thank you so much!
Right on Bo, been watching a long time and will keep on watching. As for video ideas I also enjoy vids that aren't reviews like jamming with friends and side projects (studio work etc). And maybe some vids more on the musical side rather than gear side. Making tunes, creativity ideas and finishing musical projects. I love all my gear but I need to learn how to focus on actually using it haha.
I just enjoy you being you. It doesn't really matter what kind of gear you check out. Just make sure you have fun. It just makes the videos even more fun to watch. Watching someone enjoying themselves is awesome. Just keep being you!
Thank you for your honest video! Very happy to hear the health, studio and "TH-cam mentality" situations are getting better! Would love to see some Eurorack jams focusing on 1 or a few modules in depth (doesn't need to be anything new and shiny but from the stuff you already have, maybe your favourites and showing why they are?) :)
I’m not sure about you but collaborations REALLY help me! The inspiration that comes and the combating of loneliness really helps me with my joy for music and creativity.
I was first intrigued by your videos because you were a middle-aged, greying, long-haired synth guy. I am the same, although a bit older. I enjoyed your synth reviews, yes, but I also enjoyed your introspective videos a great deal-they spoke to me. My educational background was also in psychology, and I have been practicing Stoicism for over two decades, so your CBT background also clicked for me. I am also a father. So I found your videos appealed to me on many levels. I encourage you to continue to make the videos that make you happy. Worry less about what other people might comment on them, for as you know, you do not control what they think or say. And, thank you for what you share with the world.
The personality you naturally bring to your channel is why most of us keep coming back for more. Sometimes the fun comes from overcoming challenges and the pressure it brings. Keep up the good work! BTW I'd love you to do a Bo's all time favourites series, best drum machine., synth etc.
Bo, I’ve never commented on your channel, but I do think that your presentations are always good. It doesn’t hurt that you have a warm personality and an engaging presentation style. I am surprised that you don’t yet have more subscribers…yet. Your take on synths is a bit different than my own, but since you asked, I look mostly for ideas of how we can use the technology to be musically connected and expressive in the same sense we would use a violin or an oboe, for example. i.e. expressive manipulations of timbre, tone, dynamics, vibrato, etc, instead if arpeggiators and such
You are at the very top of my list when it comes to reviews for gear and synth music advise. You have inspired my purchase in the past and have always kept me engaged to the end of your videos. Why... because you come across as authentic, genuine, fun, playful and engaging. You come across as someone that honestly cares about their audience. Fakes are real easy to spot; This is not you! Life throws choices at us and we sometimes need to make hard ones. What ever the future brings for you I wish you health and happiness to you and yours'. - A true fan of your channel !!!
Always loved your channel mate, whenever my crappy life gets me down, I watch a few of your videos and all is right with the world for a while. On balance I think yours is the best synth you tube channel on here, I do believe you are the Bob Ross of the synth community, so keep doing what you're doing, it's important to a lot of people. But always put your health and family first. Good luck to you mate 👏
I always enjoy these update videos. It's fun to hang out and hear what you're thinking. I've also been thinking a lot about what my future on TH-cam will be. Don't quite have an answer yet. Nothing like a good existential crisis to get the juices flowing. I guess the best thing I can think of right now is keep having fun. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing man. I think you make some terrific videos and have helped me make some important decisions about gear. Appreciate it! The studio looks rad!
Nice update! Yeah I've just moved too and setting up a new studio. Maybe not as extensive and masterly built as yours but it's going to be a great space. In terms of your videos, I'd love more live jams with different combinations of gear.
Bo I hear what you are saying. I recently started to notice that I was making less music doing more gear review type content on my channel and took a step back and started trying to make more music. The folks who like my channel are mostly there for the helpfulness of my videos. I love helping folks, making music, and reviewing music making products. The hardest part for me is finding the time to spend making content with a fulltime job but I just keep on trucking. I am glad you are doing better health-wise and hope you continue to march forward m'man.
I wouldn’t mind seeing more of your music videos(I know you’re on Spotify, Bandcamp, YT music). The few music videos you have done I’ve quite enjoyed and consider you as a musician not just a reviewer. Having breaks is necessary but I don’t think you’ll ever quit, music is part of who you are, it’s in your blood.
I just found your channel a few days ago when looking at possible entry level synths and I stuck watching more and more. You are a very sympathetic person and I'm sure you will be successful if you do what you mentioned in this video: Keep the fun! You can be good or even great at a job if you're talented and put a lot of effort into it - but you will only get exceptional if you have fun doing it. Keep up the good work!
Hey Bo, love the update on your life and channel. I think you should make videos that are interesting to you. We are here because of you! There must be an overlap between videos you want to make and videos that preform well :) I think that is the sweet spot.
I came to this channel today by way of Five Watt World, and this is honestly the first video of yours I have seen. The message in this video is something I needed to hear, and simply because of your personality and wisdom, I am ready to take a deep dive into your videos. I hope that you find comfort and satisfaction in whatever you will accomplish
Yes, I always enjoyed your video's and I'm happy your health is getting better now. We spoke last week on FB about my wescofor synth I built. Cheers. I'm Luc from Belgium
Your one of the good ones, and I enjoy watching you talking about gear AND whatever else is going on with you. Don't really have much in the way of helpful suggestions, but you keeping in mind you want to have more fun with it again sounds right to me.
Hey Bo, you only know the answer to your question and that answer is already in you. It is a matter of you finding the way to listen deeply to it and being truthful to your feelings. Take your time man do not rush, it will come to your rather than you going to it.
As a 50-year-old from Australia, new to the synth game, I came to your videos a few years ago mainly to help me select a good beginner synth. But I ended up staying for your personality & charm. Keep up the great videos, I enjoyed your studio videos and more candid stuff. It's always good to see how people are similar even across the other side of the world. Cheers
Very nice, thanks for posting. Have enjoyed your videos for years now. It's great to see new gear being used, helps in deciding what to buy next. One think I do enjoy that I don't know if you've done is watching someone build up a patch in a Eurorack system. I don't have one yet but am thinking of getting into it. Deciding what modules to get is just so open ended.
Tjena, Bo! :)
Hi, thanks for the update. I'm happy about every Synths TH-camr who keeps going and delivers good and interesting content. I imagine it's not always easy. I realized that I'm mainly interested in Eurorack modules right now. But in general I'm happy to get demos and reviews of new gear. I don't have a synths store near by and need this input from channels like yours (while Superbooth is not taking place). So please keep up the videos with your expertise. Hope to see you again at Superbooth next year. Bis bald.
I have suffered from IBS and you can overcome, but i do believe it's definitely related to stress and mental issues. I can eat anything now with no problems. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Love your videos, mainly on synths and controllers.
I really enjoy your videos a lot. They have been very helpful with buying gear. you are a very entertaining TH-camr. I would like to see you interview other musicians making music in their home spaces. Also, some round table chats might be cool as well. You are awesome! Thank you for your great videos!
Also do what makes you happy, people will come and go. The viewers that like you for who you are and that enjoy the content that makes you happy will stick around.
+1000 to straying playful and having fun. As a (coming into) middle aged synth nerd myself it makes me feel like I’m watching a video a friend has sent me of them mucking around.
You said it best: focus on having fun. Music is an art form and we create and consume it to generate feelings that suit our needs. If your good feelings come from having fun, then go for it. And if you're feeling good, then most viewers will feel good watching. I find it inspiring when I see people cutting loose and chasing their bliss. As for what I'd like to see you focus on? Well, I'd like to see you focus on doing whatever it is that you want to do. I expect it will be interesting. There are plenty of resources for finding out the specs and technical characteristics of gear. I think you have something different to offer.
humbled by the kind words of support. talking about personal stuff is always difficult, as you put yourself in a voulnerable spot in front of thousands of strangers. But i woke up feeling more like i had talked to thousands of friends ♥️
Just checking that you did do a SIBO breath test to rule that out
We care. You are a voice we need. Stay on your path to health!

My opinion: stay playful, don’t become too ‘professional’ or ‘slick’. I’m here for your personality! 😄👍🏼
absolutely subscribe to this !

The world is on FIRE - we don’t need more reasons to stress out. So, just have fun with it! Hope your health is better. Cheers from Canada, mate!

Ready for more middle-aged synth nerd videos! Your personality and playful approach is why I watch. Thank you for your hard work and dedication.
It gives comfort to see other people have the same kind of issues. Thanks for sharing this.
Keep doing what you do and most importantly what you really want to do and have fun with. Much love buddy, it was great seeing you at Superbooth 💜

Taking care of your physical and mental wellbeing is far more important than synth reviews.

Your Solar 42 video is my favourite by far, great vibe and awesome synth which I'm now saving hard for
I like this style videos, talk about life..... Wish you all the Best Bo ! 👍
Treasuring the fun times - always love your positivity - big hugs!

Wow! I made this comment then read some others and we are all pretty much saying the same thing!
Keep it up!
Thanks Paul!
Everytime i sit down in front of my synths with my coffee i always think of you Bo. And that will be forever mate, whatever you do. 👊
Ohe of the best videos I watched from you is the one where you teach 2 guys how to make music with the Digitakt! You are a very skilled teacher!
One of my fav vids too!
@@BoBeats maybe this means something! 😉
You’re doing great fam, thanks for makin vids that point out cool stuff that you want to share with the world!
Hey Bo, greetings from Argentina. You practically introduce me to the synth world a few years ago, in fact I bought my first synth (obviously was the original Minilogue) because of your videos. Just do whatever makes you happy and keep up the great work, cheers!
you have such a thoughtful and positively inspiring way of presenting. love your style and your music!
♥️ thank you this was such a helpful comment
I love all my gear but I need to learn how to focus on actually using it haha.
keep being yourself and playful! Love the beats you make reviewing the gear!
You rock bro! Thanks for update
I’m not sure about you but collaborations REALLY help me!
The inspiration that comes and the combating of loneliness really helps me with my joy for music and creativity.
♥️
What ever you do, you keep doing what you do best, wishing you all the success Bo.
♥️
Cheers!
I want you to be happy and make what you're passionate about!
We all like it we when you have fun.
Keep healthy and everything will roll well. ❤
I just want to say you are incredible, thanks for all your videos, they have helped me a lot and also entertain me so much, I like your style dude!!
thank you!!
Hey Bo! Just keep being you... we love you for it.
We love you Bo and appreciate and value all that you do!
this resonates a lot with me, I wish you good luck and health, i really enjoy your videos 👍🏻
I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better!
Glad to hear you are feeling good. The future will be awesome, it already is!
Hope u doing good man!
You are appreciated and respected…Keep dong what you do:)! Nice studio…
Wishing you the best of health, king!
Right back at you, queen!
You are a gem Bo!
Tjena, Bo!
Great video and I hope you feel better, dude.
Bo wishing you the very best of health and music. I appreciate you so much! King regards from Seattle
Great news about your health update! Love watching your collaborations and meeting up with other music artists 🎉
Always enjoy your videos!!!!! Keep making music and great content. It is appreciated.
