What's sad is that the people who do unfortunately get skin cancer will blame it on the time in their life that they did use real sunscreen. That's how conspiracy theory-minded people work...they double-down in untruths because it's too difficult to admit you were wrong, and you were the cause of your own suffering. Most upsetting is hearing them use it on their children, who have no say. 😔
If you believe people earning money from the general public aren't manipulating you into spending more, I think you should do research. However, sun damaged skin is real
@@karencooper3428Of course at the end of the day companies are out for their own benefit. Nobody thinks otherwise. However it is a fact that sun damage causes skin cancer, therefore I’m going to wear sunscreen to lower my risk. I’ve seen what melanoma does to people who subscribe to the “sunscreen bad” mentality. It’s crazy how people are coming up with this conspiracy theory about the other side spreading conspiracy theories that the sun causes cancer. It’s like dude, we aren’t telling you to live your life inside like a hermit 24/7, we are telling you that hours upon hours in the sun without protection is a risk to your health. Sorry about the long rant it’s just crazy to me how in 2024 we still have to explain basic knowledge to people who you swear are from the year 1612 by how low their IQ is.
You just can't talk with these people. No matter how many studies and evidence you show them. No matter how many times they get a sunburn. They won't change their mind.

Preservatives, especially Parabens, that are in skin care products and are known to be harmful…. So the “real” sunscreen could essentially not be the root cause of cancer, but a factor that accelerated cancer cell growth. *I’m not a scientist or doctor, just someone who aspires to be as healthy as American culture will allow

Let’s just say I am a recovering DIYer and I can attest, even if it seems like a pretty harmless psychoactive, if there’s ingredients involved in taking drugs, skip it. Obviously don’t cook meth, lol, but don’t get weird with the internet & odd herbs either lol 😂

“Science” isn’t a monolith. Scientists are at odds all the time; it’s part of scientific exploration and testing. Look at all the doctors disfiguring people with injectables with no consequences whatsoever. People need to think critically and be very discriminating on who they trust. There’s no shortcut for this.
lol same!!! I got a great deal last August and all year was handing out spf in 3 oz tubes to volunteers at every outdoor event for work. The sunscreen isn’t even avail this year so sorry fall ‘24, you gotta spf yourself!

maybe you’ll also get lucky like i did with korean mineral sunscreens? i switched to korean sunscreens specifically for sensitive skin and now i regularly wear sunscreen lol

Salmon sperm DNA is used regularly in molecular biology labs. I suspect they were doing experiments and it was a "contaminant" or control that ended up actually doing something unexpected in a petri dish/to mice. And someone took it from there

I only knew you could buy salmon sperm because we use it in our Labs as DNA samples 😂 I guess people performed more experiments with it ..😂
I had to know - the sperm is a waste product of the restaurant & food production industry in South Korea, and someone put some R&D money into seeing if they could find uses for some of these ULTRA CHEAP products, some of which are similar to products in skincare already. So obviously it is not vegan, and ofc it is not taken from a living salmon, but if salmon are being eaten, this is going to be a by-product, the more we use, the better!

I am a pharmacist and your take on natural products vs products that have been scientifically researched is so real. I have people telling me all the time that I am recommending such and such as a I am somehow financially driven by big pharma and its so wild to me. Like no sir/ma'am, its just that skin cancer is scary and I don't want that for you.

literally!! i’m not in the pharmaceutical industry, i’m just a student doing research, but making diy sunscreen seems like such a bad idea. the person in the video is making it at home not even using gloves 😃 that’s not a sterile environment girl (and that’s not even taking into account the ingredients and amounts used)

@@chriss7552 The reason younger people are getting cancer earlier is because of two reasons 1. We have SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER SCREENING tests than ever before. A person doesn't have to be very far along in later stages of cancer for it to be diagnosed, sometimes before they experience symptoms! 2. Less common, but still significant is that we use chemicals in the states that are known carcinogens that our government has made easy for companies to use and pollute with with little to no notification to people that use them and/or live by the polluted sites.

Right??? Plus how expensive, plus how much extra packaging all those ingredients come in. Back before I knew better, I had saved a recipe for DIY sunscreen but it was so tedious that I thankfully never tried it. 😮💨 Now I know better. Now I have a little James angel on my shoulder. 🫶
For what it's worth, those little scales are surprisingly useful if you do a lot of cooking, or own small pets you need to weigh periodically to make sure they aren't losing weight - just make sure you clean it between weighing pets and ingredients
When I look into my Pinterest, I also had a lot of DIY face masks and even a sunscreen recipe saved 😅 but that was like 15 years ago. Now I know better and fortunately I never made the sunscreen. So glad about the education we get now.

I work as a PT in a hospital, and I'll get patients that don't like the recommendations I make; usually when I'm recommending them to go to a skilled nursing facility for more rehab because they're not strong enough to be safe at home, but they're medically ready to discharge from the hospital. They're grown adults, and they're allowed to disregard my recommendation (doesn't hurt my feelings), but I often say they need to go home, and fail, to realize that I didn't make my recommendation arbitrarily, or for some perceived profit (I don't get paid to send people to skilled rehab), and that I really do have their best interest in mind.
Some people just need to find out for themselves. I often see them back in the hospital within a couple days, if not within 24 hours.

I am old enough to remember the times when people used oil to tan faster. Never in a million years would I link oil and SPF and think it would work!
Yes! These people have never seen the old tanning reflectors, or heard their mother's/grandmother's stories of "laying out" baking in suntan oil. No light-skinned person over 40 has avoided sun damage at this point. Learn from our mistakes! 🤦♀️
A few in my family swear by 'beef tallow' as sunscreen, which is just beef fat! I swear they are cooking out there 😫

If these people are so terrified of sunscreen why don’t they just cover up, wear hats and use umbrellas when outside. I agree making diy sunscreen is just nonsense.
That is what I have to do to protect my face since I am now allergic to every sunscreen I have tried if it goes on my face. The one exception is the powder sunscreen but it doesn’t cover fully so it is just another layer of protection.
@@alexacarrillo4339try La Roche Posay sunscreen.... ( I’m also very allergic and it works very well for me.) Alternatively, a dermatologist should be able to help you with a sunscreen that won’t irritate your skin.

People who make their own sunscreen stress me out. At best they are making a home made diaper rash cream that I still wouldn’t trust on my baby’s butt.
I think the younger girls getting cosmetic modifications look older because they look like older women who get the same procedures done and they also wear tooooooo much makeup if that a thing. Or maybe it’s just not applied properly. Thanks James ❤

I see it a lot IRL, and I try not to judge when I don’t follow trends or anything, but the heavy makeup doesn’t play as posh, it tells me someone either cannot accurately see themselves or that they haven’t figured out that most people just do not care what’s hot on TikTok. I see young women getting pushed out of a lot of professional organizations instead of moving up, and often land in jobs that are just commission sales, because they look “cheap & trashy” to boss-age people. It’s not fair but it is what it is. And so many online famous people are not seen by their own community as relevant or important, for the same reasons. I’m sure some of it is cultural, one such young woman got iced out professionally in my town for this, but met a nice PhD in New Zealand and is succeeding so hard in her new home. We competed for a job ten years ago, I got it, and she prob outearns me by 10x now 😂 go Brittany! But yeah, it does not fly everywhere. There’s a beautiful lesbian my age always on the dating apps, but she’s a filler & medispa doctor and everyone is afraid of her judgement & frozen face.

@judymcdougal I totally agree. I’m a nurse anesthetist for a plastic surgery center and my colleagues are 18-35 while the surgeons are older with salt and pepper. The girls and I get complimentary nips and tucks, injectables, implants and etc because we represent and sell beauty and youth. We’re walking advertisements. I choose not to indulge because the young aestheticians are starting to look older, especially the ones getting Botox brow lifts.
I think they’re damaging their collagen with sunbathing on top of Botox. I think that Botox face is similar to Ozempic face.

I think it would be interesting to see the women from Love Island's photos without makeup on, or without full glam/heavy makeup for shoots, tv etc. Nothing wrong with that makeup but I do think it makes women in their 20's and 30's look really similar. Of course I also wish people would just leave them alone, and/or think more about the reasons why these kind of shows are so appealing for people to apply for.
The heavy tanning doesn’t help either.
If you watch the show, the girls faces are shown from right when they wake up before they've gotten ready and done their makeup. I think the heavy amt of botox and filler makes a bigger difference than some ppl realize, there's a way to do it more naturally but I think ppl going on TV think they need more. There's previous islanders that have gone on after the show to talk about dissolving their fillers and things like that. It's still sad to me that all the girls going into that show feel like they have to have so much done

I am so glad someone mentioned that these just are poorly taken photos. Not only with the photos themselves but the editing done comes off as very uncanny to me and so I just don't know what the team was thinking

I think you have a very compassionate take on this, but you've also hit the nail on the head of why I personally see people with filler as looking older - I DO indeed associate this with people who are older trying to look younger. I was trying to figure out why I couldn't tell the age of people, so it's actually a relief to put a name to it. I know a lot of makeup can age people, but that wasn't it. Lighting does make a HUGE difference - I put on half my makeup before turning on my lighted mirror, and I see the bags under my eyes, etc and then the light comes on and I look 10 years younger. The solution is always to have an invisible light floating in front of you. :D
lol my workplace has the best lighting and now I hate wearing makeup anywhere else. I switch on the cold bright light & just want to run away lol! Altho we do tend to skip artificial light in one section, so sometimes I who am very thin look like a ghoul in the corner. That’s kinda fun tho, lol

I don't see the filter, but somehow her face looks better, but her skin looks exactly the same when you compare both videos, so upon looking closely, I see her eyebrows are filled in in the 2nd one and her high bun just looks better, so that might cause us to think she looks better.

My dad went “natural” for spf for a couple years. He was using coconut oil because he read it on some crunchy running forum and a thin running hat.
He got skin cancer and had to have the skin removed off his head and face- he actually got cancer through his nylon hat.
Sunrays don’t discriminate and are not to be messed with, wear your sunscreen! (My dad does now)
It’s so jarring that we have many chasing anti aging /looking under at any cost. Then there are those actually harming themselves and causing the most damage (aging) by not using SPF

Def agree on the spf disbelievers issue. My Grandad had skin cancer so I'm really careful. Caroline Hirons posts a lot of examples/responses she gets from people showing their cancerous marks, patches etc and post surgery pics (I'm sure you've seen these). But to anyone who's not seen them they're worth seeing because it really shows you the range of patches/marks etc on skin that can be cancerous, not just the traditional 'unusual mole' we think of.

We are absolutely regressing. It seems humanity does this cycle of progression followed by regression, then we progress again. There was progress in philosophy, math, science, art, architecture, and so much more during the classical Era (600 BCE - 600 CE), which was then followed by the Dark Ages which saw a regression in science, intellectualism, philosophy, medical advancement, etc; followed by the Renaissance, Period of Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution, etc.
We have lived through the "Age of Information", but now I firmly believe we are heading into another regression where science, facts, philosophy, and culture decline in favor of superstition, conspiracy, faith (or natural/essential oil) healing, and religious dogma.

I especially hate when the clean beauty 'diy' cultists (and yes at this stage that's exactly how they are behaving) use video titles like, 'Our ancestors knew best'. As if back in ye olden days there was absolutely no innovation happening, and everyone just walked around plucking herbs out of meadows and being all gloriously natural. One video on Tiktok had the most stereotypical image of the late Victorian/early Edwardian image of a woman wearing long sleeves, with a giant hat on her head, and carrying a parasol, as an example of how out ancestors didn't burn and get sun cancer back then because, something, something, 'natural'. Like yeah let's just ignore the hat that is large enough to sit an entire bird on, the parasol that is adding extra shading from the sun, and the long sleeves and floor length skirts that are covering their skin; clearly none of that is providing any sun protection and it must be the 'insert cliched natural product' that they're hand mixing using *insert cliched natural ingredient BS' picked from the local gardens. Here we go gathering nuts in may is a nursery rhyme people, not a skincare suggestion.

@@555starangel_I just came to say this! I feel like filler is for people who are 40+ and want to look like themselves but when they were younger. Essentially just filling where the natural plumpness is in the face that does deminish due to lower collagen production.

Yes but those are the people with clearly visible fillers. The best results are the ones you can’t tell they’ve had anything done unless you know the person’s face well. Usually done by cosmetic nurses or doctors with good credentials. Not these unlicensed beauticians.
Its bc you cant see The well done fillers bc They look Natural. Like i did under Eye filler and didnt Tell anyone. No one noticed it even my mother . she just thought i look Better but cant say why xD so Yeah it can work
However, I do wish we lived in a society where the need for anti aging or beautifying procedures weren’t a thing and aging was accepted and welcomed.

As much as I hate this diy sunscreen trend, to give the girl her dues, she does add zinc oxide about of a third of the way through the video. Still think you would be mad to try it, but she does add a sun screen ingredient

Honestly feel bad for the women on love island currently receiving heat for their botched fillers. There is most likely a confidence issue already inside of them, so then hearing thousands of people give their opinions on their face could worsen that confidence issue. Ok I have a funny story related to fish spunk. A few years ago a girl I knew was working in a fish farm . She noticed her hands looking better/younger after they’d been in the spawning pool . So she connected the dots and found herself a new serum so to speak 😂

I truly think that even when they do burn, the vast majority of the natural sunscreen folks will insist it's like a "healthy glow" or simply blame it on something other than their "sunscreen". Even personal experience often can't overpower belief.

I’m a biomedical scientist licensed in cosmetology and aesthetic based in Brazil. PDRN is an increasingly popular active here in Brazil, especially when used during microneedling (which I don’t really recommend doing at home by yourself). People have been getting pretty good results with this combined treatment for skin texture and overall skin tone as well as “anti-aging”. The microneedling itself can help with most of these skin concerns, depending on the depth of the needles by promoting a mild injury on the skin and boosting collagen production. But the microneedling also helps with drug delivery, as it opens tiny channels that allow actives to penetrate the skin
James, I was in the UK branch of Sephora yesterday and there were kids, got to be no more than 8/9, buying hyaluronic acid. Genuinely think these need to be made age restricted as they're seriously going to mess some kid's skin up and the parents are CLUELESS. I might be worrying about nothing, let me know if it's unfounded concern.
HA is deemed safe for tweens/kids to use because it's just a moisturizing ingredient. It's actives, particularly ones that are exfoliating and/or amp up the risk of sun damage like BHA/AHA and retinols that they need to avoid.
That said, I don't think young kids need to be buying things in Sephora, very expensive.

Sephora was a bit expensive even for my blood haha. I was only going in trying to look for a colour corrector (though on a Saturday this was a HUGE mistake).
@@atomichobbit6070 They're for sure at minimum prescription restricted in other countries. Definitely not adverse to age restriction, too! But, I think it's also on the parents to teach the kids "no" and not give young kids an allowance so lavish they can purchase in stores where the more colorfully-packaged retinols exist, for sure!
I personally haven't seen the mass amounts of kids in my local Sephora in the US, but I saw them in Stockholm, Sweden!

It's something that has evolved...back when I was a MUA in the UK you had to be a nurse or licenced aesthetition with CPD to train in injectables...which is why I never did...at some point after I had stopped makeup artistry that changed and now it's very widely available you can train in many products .
I think some of the reason that the filler and other procedures makes them look older is because they are carving out features. We naturally hollow out in our faces as we age so it makes them look more sharp and moves away from the fresher slightly more plump and rounded face of youth.
Obviously it's also the case that they are doing procedures that mostly older women would have done so we just assume they are older.

I thought it was just me that thought Starlight's face looked way off from before! I fell in love with everyone's character but Season 4 was an absolute shock when I saw Starlight's face and how much its been modified!... 😔😔😔
Part of the reason that filler makes people look older is because it can create the illusion of a more hollow face. A more exaggerated cheekbone gives the illusion of cheeks with less fat, as you age the buccal fat pad thins and you get thinner cheeks. Add those together and you look older.
There's a reason why people with fat faces are said to have baby faces.
Hi James, I just want to point out in regards to the sunscreen vid, she does add zinc oxide in the video at 11:13 I certainly don’t recommend making your own spf regardless of if you put zinc in it or not, but it made for a bit of a confusing watch as you talked about it as if she didn’t 😅

He said there was an ATTEMPT for an SPF filter by using zinc oxide.

This is true, but he did also say that you can't just dump zinc oxide into a cream and expect it to work the same way a carefully formulated zinc oxide sunscreen would work. She tried.
About the salmon DNA injections here in Korea: it's known to be EXTREMELY painful, more than the other injections. Some women combine it with other treatments and get full anesthesia because the pain is apparently unbearable. I was at a clinic last week and one of the nurses said that she gets it done because her skin is extremely dry to the point it constantly itches and it's often red. Apparently, it's the only thing that helps her and her skin looked great too.
I'd like to try it but the pain scares me even more than the price.
Just remember... the person who says they get it and love it is also trying to sell it to you!

I was there to help a friend filming content and she was the nurse in charge of removing the numbing cream off my friend's face, I don't think she really cares if i get something done or not. But yes I agree, in general I wouldn't listen to someone working in a clinic about how amazing a product is :)
I’m 37 and I’m only just now considering MAYBE just MAYBE getting Botox/filler right between my eyebrows because I just started noticing faint 11 lines. And I don’t feel bad because I may end up doing that but it would be my first cosmetic procedure, and I still may not do it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to stave off signs of aging, but sometimes trying to walk around looking like an IRL filter is just… ughhhh. You’re not even aging in your 20s (though I know prevention is easier than fixing!) Just use sunscreen or get fake tans. I mean, I know it’s not all just about aging, but they’ve already altered their appearances so much that the upkeep is going to get harder and harder to maintain, and the skin/body can only take so much 😢
I get my 11s done mainly to lose the deep groove I have from frowning when I’m concentrating but I’ve only had it done 4 times over 3 years because I want to regain movement between sessions. I also ask my injector to leave some movement because I don’t want to look frozen (one person did give me a frozen forehead and I hated it). It can definitely be done minimally and I think sometimes people assume the results they get are the same whoever they go to but results can vary massively. Any decent practitioner will do a follow up appointment 1-2 weeks after to assess/ add more if you need it so it’s definitely worth asking them to go very lightly until you know how your body responds. Also, historically, it hasn't felt as common for young people to change so many parts of their face. Changing a lot of your face before aging sets in is interesting.
I haven't finished the video, but one thing popped out at me, so far: James says people will comment when there's too much filler, but also comment saying there's not enough.The thing that content creators forget is that there are different audiences. It likely isn't the same people commenting that there's too little or too much. As someone who loves natural faces, you will never catch me saying someone needs work done. So sure, you will never make everyone happy, don't live your life trying to do that, but if you want to go a more natural route, there WILL be an audience for that. Yes you will be criticized by the other folks, but that's life.
On another note, I recently saw a scene from a show where one young woman looked like she had very natural beauty and I really enjoyed seeing her. It was so refreshing. Maybe she wasn't fully natural, but not having blatant work done and having a natural looking face is rare nowadays in media.
In the past 5 years or so I've seen more and more people starting to mistrust science and it's scary. I'm not saying you should trust everything blindly but the growing amount of people just claiming they don't trust science developments and research is worrying. Things that's been developed and researched for decades sometimes centuries are being questioned.
For the PDRN, I was influenced and bought a PDRN toner and I will say, it really helps when my skin is inflamed from eczema or allergies and I've noticed that I don't scar as much from the hives and eczema flare-ups and my skin doesn't feel weirdly stiff anymore in the places of these flare-ups. I've started using it on my arms too and it's been beyond great. When I don't have flare-ups, I use a derma stamp and then use the toner paired with a cica gel and my skin is thriving! My flare-ups don't last as long and the aftermath of bumps and weird texture/scarring is very shortlived. I of course, use these products in my routine with other steps that target hyperpigmentation like tretinoin but it helps keep the skin calm and nourished so the tretinoin doesn't have its typical side effects like redness, irritation and dryness which would be a disaster for my eczema-prone skin.

@@liviusss I use the toner by Ganabelle and if I'm not mistaken they have other PDRN products like serums too! It's probably the most pricey skincare I own at about 30 dollars but it's for 300mL and it's been a lifesaver for me.
I got PDRN injected under my eyes and into my hands, looks great but it stung! Ask for lidocaine to be added, or just do microneedling to avoid the sting. That stuff kinda hurts.

The lipo thing is gross and scary! Check out the non dentists doing veneers in the USA! Also it costs $15 for a bottle of good spf, this "spf" would cost so much!
the editing on those pictures with the creepily smooth skin doesn't help either, but i think the main thing with the lip filler is it really accentuates those two lines leading from the nose to the mouth.

Not defending DIY sunscreen, but in the video you show she actually adds zinc oxide to her mix (around 11:10). It isn't just the oils for the sun protection.
Ehh. Some people in general just always look older than they are. While for some people it could be fillers related, others its just how they look and sometimes their personality or behaviour influences how others estimate their age.
People also suck at estimating ages a lot of the time.
Me for example, ive looked mid 30s since i was 14 and was mistaken for mid 20s from 12. Im now 31 and look close to my age at long last, but i still look older than i am.
I constantly got mistaken for my friends' mums no matter whether i was 14 and with other 14 year olds or when i was 18 and with my 25 year old friend. Didnt matter who i was around, ive always been mistaken for a lot older. I was also mistaken for a mature student throughout my first year of uni when new lecturers/students met me/talked about backgrounds etc
And ill say again, humans suck at guessing ages a lot of the time ha.
That's true, genes also play an important role... Some people look older than they are and some younger, I looked 16 until I was 30 and it was really frustrating sometimes.
But bad placed filler and a lot of make-up can also make people look older, or weird...

I agree with your theory about filler, I’ve always thought the same thing. We associate cosmetic surgery with older people, trying to look younger. So when we see noticeable cosmetic work, we automatically assume they’re older because of that association!

Honestly it’s crazy how filler and plastic surgery in general is so prominent on social media. I don’t blame people for feeling like they need to get procedures done, because it’s so common nowadays. I had to get rid of instagram for a bit because even though I literally banned/hid all the plastic surgery and filler posts, as well as the words related to them, I still got content about it lol. And it gets really tiring at some point, it feels like social media is pushing this content on people to make them feel more insecure. (Again, I don’t blame the people shown in those videos. It’s just a never ending cycle it feels like.)

My grandfather is in his 80s. For easily the last 20+ years, he has regularly had cancerous lesions removed from his face, arms, etc. He has religiously worn sunscreen his entire life, but some people are just susceptible! NOT wearing sunscreen or opting for these oils is literal insanity to me.

Wrt spf, building the evidence base, communicating facts compellingly and social pressure are really all we have. For better or worse, we can't force parents to put proper spf on their kids and that evidence of harm caused by sun exposure may not show up for decades. Parents almost universally want what's best for their kids, and the amount of misinformation and fear mongering is therefore particularly tragic.
The obliviousness or trust people have to let non-professionals INJECT them with products not even approved for human consumption is just wild.
The problem is that those sunscreen or beauty influencers are most likely NOT wearing their DIY sunscreens, they are just making those videos because it gets lots of engagement. Think of all the 5 minute craft videos where the hack is rubbish. The creators know it and don';t use those actual products. Whether the engagement is positive or negative doesn't matter since they are still getting paid. SO since they are not actually wearing their DIY sunscreen, they will not get burned and then inform the masses that they were wrong all along. It's the followers that will get burned. Unfortunatly fewer followers will make a video that gets the type of viewership that the original DIY video received. Thus the scam keeps going. It's like all of those food hack videos that don't work. The creator is well aware that they don't work or aren't eating their creations but continue to push the lie for engagement.
But you are right. Science, scientists, big Pharma and large corporations are now viewed as the enemy. Which is sad because these companies need to go through rounds of R&D and quality controls before shipping. They can be sued for millions which is why many are very careful. But somehow people trust a TikTok video from an unknown who has done almost no research or testing and is not liable for your injuries. CRAZY.

Considering I had a friend who was mentally unwell enough to try doing at home liposuction on herself using a sharp kitchen knife and a vacuum cleaner (yes she was sectioned under the mental health act once the Emergency department had stitched her up and given her a blood transfusion), people going to non medically trained or licensed aestheticians for what is essentially a cosmetic surgery procedure is one of the more believable rumours out there.
You are SO right. Women are absolutely damned if they do, damned if they don't. I remember receiving a comment about my appearance on tiktok saying I needed a nose job and lip filler and I'm already incredibly insecure about my face. So because of this- I got some lip filler (would definitely have gotten a nose job too if I could afford it). Then a little while later, I got told my lips didn't look good and should make them 'normal' again. We can NEVER please everyone and the sooner I can truly realise this- the better.
These woman are beautiful and can do whatever they want with their faces.

I had a friend who was asked to go on love island back when we were at uni in around 2020ish before Covid and the things they were asking of her was crazy, she had to buy a load of new outfits etc, it actually made her want to get her lips done saying she needed to “fit in with the rest of the people they asked”, she ultimately rejected the offer and it’s so sad because she was drop dead gorgeous and it really made her more self conscious about her already divine appearance..
