    That’s amazing driving, it’s a pretty mild setup for an Elise these days and he was still absolutely incredible.

    God those Rover engines sound great. Best driving experience you can get from the Elise (imo) as they're the lightest.
    Please people, if you want to stick a K20 in an Elise, do it to one of the Toyota powered cars.

    I have a 2004 S2 Elise with a about 180HP at he the wheels. My dream is to take it to the ring!! You are an exceptionally good driver, I don't think I could do these times. I'd still be faster than the Honda S2000 and MX-5 though ;)

      You might be surprised with how fast the S2000s and MX5s are going these days! Jokes aside a 180hp Elise would be a blast around the Nordschleife, just treat it with care!

    Nice wish i could get one of these but i tried to test drive one and couldn't fit into it properly too tall, so had to pass :(

    Awesome :) - can you recommend verified geometry setting for NS - on Elise? (Especially camber, etc...) How much shimplates in front (or in rear) take off? ...Thx for info

      Car was very aggressively setup for shorter/tighter tracks. A setup that for sure wasn't ideal on the Nordschleife.
      Gab believes there is easily an under 7:50 for a simple S1 as this... (However since the car is now sold we will never now)
      We will try to get the details about the alignment from Gab.

      Thx again for reply :) I have new Elise 250 Cup and after first visit of the race track in Czech Republic it is definitely needed to make more focused alignment. Yesterday first more negative camber setup in front was done and better feeling on county roads with agressive driving style was achieved... My first visit of NS is in July, so i am looking forward my favourite track with the new car and all info about the setup can be very useful.

    Great vid. Can you please explain what you're doing with your left foot at 5:15 before heel-and-toe shifting in that right turn?

      It is quite common after a long straight coming to a big brake zone to do a tap in the brakes to make sure they are... there.
      Funnily enough months later Gab had a race car leaving him with no brakes in THAT exact place.

      +Homebuilt Racing Same exact spec(bottom end rebuilt to same spec). Exactly the same car as previous video down to the same tires. A 7:4x.x lap is entirely possible.

    Really good driving, mate. You really seem to know how to get around there. Just one question. What the heck is that computer-ish thing you had attached to the windshield? God, the GTR driver was dumb. And I'm not saying it to criticize his skills, but his childish behaviour.

      The big-computerish thing is a RaceNavigator RNOne. It's data/telemetry and video in one device with a great interface and very user-friendly. Not cheap but great quality product.
      As far as the traffic... this is probably as good as it gets so no worries! It's the 'Ring... you never get a clean-clean lap anyway!
