Top tip give the hull a spray over with bleach using a garden sprayer, leave for 10 mins then the barnacles will come off easily.

Our boat is copper coated and we have discovered that you need to re-key it every year for it to continue to work. This is rubbing it all over with a scrubbing pad - talk to a friendly chandlery and they will show you what to buy. Ours is a fin keel so we've only dried out once to do this, as we worry the boat will fall over!! So we get her lifted each year and wash all the growth off and re-key it.
Helen, you need to buy David a sign that says. 'I love work, I could watch it all day'!
On our circumnavigation we will be doing the Outer Hebrides and Scotland's north coast next year, so great to see that going to the Orkneys makes it easier to manage the tides.

Great tip Ann, we’ll be doing that in the winter when we get her lifted out.
Got to admit, it was very satisfying scraping all the growth off but yes I’m going to look into getting a t shirt done with that saying on 😂
Have you finished for the season now?
Thanks for continuing to watch us Ann and commenting……top fan 😀

And there you discover an advantage of a bilge keeler
    and a slight drawback.
Your alloys...are sacrificial anodes but yup definitely long past their best.😂 👍🏼🧙‍♂️🇬🇧

Thankyou for watching our Journey that is one great thing about the twin keel you can dry out any where , first job on our list is to order Anodes I couldn't believe how bad they where

Enjoying your little circumnavigation, little advice its not good for your engine to be left on low revs / idle for lengthy periods ,your shortening its life. Diesel engine enjoy working under load or best switched off and enjoy the sound of the sea. I fully understand keeping it on during the twitchy bum moments, something i have done myself. How is the Guinness or have you knocked that on the head.

Thankyou for following us on our journey, Yes we have now found out about running the engine at low power all the time just isn't good for it , you will probably see us do it again in eps coming up we our a couple of mouths ahead of the videos, In Grimsby, We will defiantly be trying more Guinness

Dont be tempted to put wheels on your dinghy like I did. If you do they catch on the ropes every time you tac :(
