Philippines always has no need for interpreters. They can answer questions intelligently. They are indeed smart. What else would the organization ask for?
Nothing wrong with being able to speak English. But to associate it with being intelligent is quite not okay because knowing how to speak english does not equate to being intelligent. I know some people who do not speak english but are really smart. It all boils down to someone’s status and access in life: if he/she has access to English language studies. I met some Filipino farmers who are not adept to speaking English but i could never do what they do in utilizing their know how on how to grow food and maximize yield. Just a simple example.
A year before Catriona became the Miss Universe Philippines she joined the Miss World but didnt win, and in 2018 she became Miss U Phillipines and won the pageant!!!

What most people unfortunately do (yes including some Filipinos as well) is that they tend to lump all Latinos together, so when the first runner-up is Latina to a non-Latin winner, they assume that all Latinos as a whole are bitter about it, when the reality is that Latin countries are very competitive against each other as well. They may root for their fellow Latina to win, but are not necessarily automatically outright hateful if their bet loses. If anyone's salty, it usually is the first runner-up's country, which is understandable, but not the entire Latin community for sure.

I think Pia competing (multiple times) and winning at BBP helped mold her outlook in pageant organizations. It was really an honor and a responsibility that she will not take lightly. She brought that kind of attitude to MU as she instinctively defended the organization. A true and iconic queen.

I watched this back in 2015 but did not follow up on the news but did feel Miss Universe Pia had her moment of glory robbed. Now end 2018, I chanced upon it again and this time went through a couple of videos and guess what Pia is not only intelligent, hard-working but also magnanimous. She is a genuine person what she spoke was right from her heart. She is classy.
The gown suits her. It matched the blue gemstones of her crown. And her favorite color is blue. In the end, good thing she was allowed by her manager to wear whatever she wants.

I watched this back in 2015 but did not follow up on the news but did feel Miss Universe Pia had her moment of glory robbed. Now end 2018, I chanced upon it again and this time went through a couple of videos and guess what Pia is not only intelligent, hard-working but also magnanimous. She is a genuine person what she spoke was right from her heart. She is classy.

The gown suits her. It matched the blue gemstones of her crown. And her favorite color is blue. In the end, good thing she was allowed by her manager to wear whatever she wants.
