I don't have much dispute with what you said, but it's especially egregious when they mention those sh_t-tier Amazon LotR shows as potential materials for reference. It feels like they want to ditch the creative minis based upon the books and just try to shill junk from the Amazon nonsense.
I'm mostly guessing it due to wanting to let Amazon do the marketing. It could just be they want to maintain the license but, lower the amount they have to keep up. No matter the reason GW has done a -F job when it comes to keeping folks informed.
