      To get clean audio you need three things: good mic placement, clean preamps on your audio recorder and a mic with low noise. Even the most expensive recorder will give bad results if you have a hissy mic, and vice versa. So have your mic and recorder on the same level of quality, they're equally important.
      Good mic placement is free so remember that always, no matter what equipment you usr ;)
      (Oh, there is a fourth thing: do your best to cancel out all the noise you don't want to hear.)

    TIP: If the sound guy says "do it again", do it again. Trust the guy with the headphones.

      And also TELL your sound guy to tell you to do it again. Sound guys so often act like whipping boys. No, they are half of the movie. Make sure they know that.

    Important question: My camera audio is at 4800 khz but using my audio recorder I am able to record at 9600khz. Which one should I use for my recorder sample rate, same as camera audio that I use for syncing, or 9600khz?

    • @DeityMicrophones
      @DeityMicrophones 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      48Khz 24bit is what your audio recorder should be set to. 96Khz is for oversampling like when you want to slow down the audio in post or for recording sound effects.

    • @quarter8thfilms30
      @quarter8thfilms30 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Start with a 120D and the full size dome, it'll provide more then enough light for your setup. You can add either two 672's or the Tri-8's depending on your budget. They would provide nice fill and hair lights, in a pinch you could also use the M9's as a hair light - or a Mini20.
