Yes either you have to find a pillager outpost or wait till any pillager boss comes near you.

For some reason I tried it in another world and the evokers don’t spawn even when I have bad omen 5

Same. Some of them will go into the pit but most of them just wander around the area until I come up to the surface.

put boats around the small room and vexes will be trapped
I made this farm in bedrock and it didint work...
Does the area matter?
It's more than likely for java
you need to build in flat land where the mobs do not get stuck.
Doesnt work for bedrock!
Doesnt work. Maybe 1/3 of them actually fall into the pit. The rest I had to go to the surface and wipe them out manually.
you have to build this in a flat surface with almost no trees like plain biomes, pillagers will sometime spawn on top of the tree and it will not work, its either you have to build in another locations or break some trees
I build this farm with flat lands far away from a village yet it doesn’t work
