    I get asked quite often how i have my leds mounted. As I did not own a vu meter until now, I thought I would share my version one build quickly. and a more indepth build of my version 2 build.

    Hi, that is an amazing and a mesmerising project. But if you allow me two or three questions: 1) could it be built with two towers, one for each channel, left-right, for a hifi stereo system? 2) where is its signal source? Is it by microphone? 3) as I said it is an amazing project but why don't you go to open market, for sell? Yes, you mentioned this is not a cheap project, but having it in mass production will not reduce its cost? Thank you for your time and keep up the good work.

    • @cine-lights
      @cine-lights  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi...Im sorry but your name is ...?.. anyways thanks. let me try and answer some of your questions. 1) yes it can be used in stereo format. if you build the stereo tft version you will have 2 outputs., and it uses line in only. via a headphone socket. the only issue i see is if you wish to use it in stereo mode is how far they will be apart. ? i am not sure the distance you can have a the data lead before you start to lose signal. also running a very long 5v lead you are likely to start getting voltage drop. The only thing i can suggest is build the control box and connecting 2 led strips and checking before buying and building with the acrylic. as for mass production. 50 pieces of 8mm acrylic, not only is expensive. ( around £200) it is very heavy. so sending it by post would not be cheap. like any of my projects i try to make them easy to follow so anyone can build them. that way you get the satisfaction when you have done. I will continue with the building and sharing as long as i can. certain jealous people with no imagination, who are upset as i have started to share my code in hex / bin format so they can not steal it are making it quite hard. I do this for fun.., not to make money. a few friends of mine that do the same thing have closed there channels, or are just sharing there finished projects without a build video or code. But i have some great people that follow this channel , ( its crazy how many subscriber its gaining ). The mr Wannabe is a joke.., he is posting alot of crap and i do feel i need to post a video that sinks him into the hole he crawled from... but i think its unfair on the followers of this channel.. the main view on him so far is that his next project is 240v and he messes up.

      Hey mate, hope your all good.. full specs can be found at 6:11 .... anyways its 80mm wide, 100 in length and 8mm thick with 2 m8 holes. best is to purchase local if you can. due to the weight and delivery. if you have the tools im guessing cutting it yourself would be cheaper. for me it was not a cheap build.

    Great project !!! On a strip of 144 diodes per meter, the distance between the diodes is 1.9 mm. I could not think of how to position plexiglass plates for such a distance.:(

    • @Marc_Miller
      @Marc_Miller 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to try without using any nuts between each plate I think it could still be built, at least to a certain height. Would need to find the correct thickness spacer and only have nuts at the very top and bottom to compress it all together.
      Another thought might be some sort of vertical back plane with correctly size and spaced horizontal slots that the horizontal plates could slide into. Laser cutter would probably be needed for this second sort of design.

    • @EGORka140764
      @EGORka140764 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, but in the first case, at high altitude, compression from both sides can be uneven. The second method is more realizable, but also costs more. Strip manufacturers have chosen the wrong size between the diodes. :) Would make 2mm, there would be no problems. - drive.google.com/open?id=1ODetxEPdm-EdjNwzKcnCd15S21K8E6JF

      Hi.. as I have mentioned in the build video. It's not a cheap build. In some countries the acrylic can be purchased alot cheaper, but delivery costs are just crazy. The cost of parts alone come to about £300. I would not wish to guess on the cost of delivery as it's very heavy. So I'm afraid its not for sale. I have given you enough information for you to build your own. And you are likely to build it alot cheaper.

Those who have seen the code have been quite shocked at the lengths we have taken to get it to work as well as it does, and the amount of pages of code used. you can email me @ mannymiller1968@gmail.com, i will gladly compile the code for you and discuss outputs of the finished product.

    • @cine-lights

      IR control is a no no... bluetooth works ok, but depends on the ammount of leds you are using. its not a bad idea with the bouncing balls reacting to sound. with 3 or 4 balls though with a high bmp tune would be chaos

    Thanks for the informative videos. Can you please help? We are trying to make 4 speaker towers with rgbnw strips and an external microphone for a music reactive led system that acts singularly as one tower or all together 4 towers. We want to have everything addressable so we can add arduino. So we need to know all the components that work together with an ac plug-in, whether it's a kit or we have to build it. We will gladly pay to help solve this problem or to have it made if required. We would like to use sk-6812 RGBW(natural white). We would also prefer to use high quality components that will last a long time with no fire risk. Thank you.

    • @cine-lights
      @cine-lights  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, i have not done any work or projects using the sk6812 chipset, but have been informed they are just a ws2812 clone. so fastled etc should work just fine with them., as will the neopixel library. so the majority of the code should work as intended. Now, the idea of this channel is help you build as easy as possible the projects on this channel. now i do get a lot of requests, and as it is a hobby, ( i make no money from this channel ) i only tend to answer requests when it has been requested a lot of times. in this case it has not. The fact you have not only requested code, but also all the components to build your project - leads me to believe this is a lazy build. Do your research. I am more than happy to help you with any of the projects here, but do not anything else. sorry.
