Just in case you need to know. The "tomatillo" is related to the gooseberry not the toato. And it should be boiled until pale. It's easy to find in Mexican geared stores such Northgate and El Super herein the US. I know California has them. The ripe ones are a bright green and they have a thin husk over them. And the squash looks like zucchini but isn't. Italian or Mexican squash should do it. Also, I'm not sure if all stores call them by those names.

That sauce is very tasty but some keys did not come out here, one of those keys is that it is recommended that green tomatoes do NOT break when cooking because this causes a bad taste. Key 2.-let the ingredients cool down before blending them because if not the next day your sauce will take an unpleasant gelatinous consistency and 3.-for the sauce to last longer without damaging it you have to add one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white.

If you're ever at a Mexican restaurant and they have one of those salsa bars with all kinds of different salsa and they have avocado salsa. It is almost always this. The way to tell is if it's green. It doesn't take very long for any avocado to turn brown once exposed. You can put lime juice on it but it will still turn fairly quick. I actually really like this salsa made with Mexican squash. It has a nice tang to it with the tomatillo.

My only point was that that’s how you can tell the difference between real avocado salsa and fake avocado salsa. If you walk into a Mexican restaurant and check out the salsa bar and under avocado salsa it is still bright green then you are eating this wonderful salsa she made here with tomatillo and squash. If it was real avocado salsa on a buffet it would have turned just from sitting out.
