Dark's macro may no not be perfect, his micro can be sloppy, but there are very few players to have ever played the game of SC2 who can accurately say they have the level of game sense that Dark has. That killer instinct to just _know_ exactly how, and when, to attack, and how, and when, to defend. What builds to whip out at what points in the series, and on what maps. Dark doesn't present the meticulous precision of players like Byun, Maru, or Serral, but what he does demonstrate, is unerring confidence in himself and his plays.
I remember the WCS final between these two, Byun played out all potential of every single siege tank, that literily got blizzard removed the tank medivac combination. I still feel nostalgic about the highlights of those amazing players, reminds me the old days.
It was awesome to see both players truly live up to their reputation in this series, going to game 5. We got to see Byun doing marine/medivac, with some jetpack marines and spooky marines thrown in, and we got to see Dark... well, we got to see Dark be Dark in the second half of the series
Watching these games makes me want to play more starcraft, playing starcraft makes me want to watch more games, especially since my APM is sub basement level. I go to sleep with Winters voice dancing around in my dreams.
First Game played entirely on Dark's side of the Map! didn't even see byun's base Once!! Also I keep hearing the legendary tale of how ByuN single handedly got the reapers nerfed.. TWICE!! So if winter could post a link to his cast of the Blizzcon 2016 WCS Finals between Dark and Byun that'd be Great .... I mean I will go digging.. but a Link would be Nice 😍
The best part was multiple pros tried to do what Byun did and only Byun could do it. The first nerf there was a handful of pros that were able to use the reapers like Byun was but only Byun was able to dominate the game with them, every other pro had much more trouble mimicking his skills. Its very interesting but Byuns playstyle has always been micro heavy and its where hes always shined the most. He is considered the best Micro Terran in the pro league, his macro is very good but nothing compared to his micro.
Getting serious deja vu of Dark vs Clem from Pigfest 3. Dark did the same ~3:25 harass with 6 lings that we saw in game 3 of this series, and a similar roach/ravager all-in against the 2-racks reaper with exposed addons that we saw in game 2.
Would be funny if you could get "reinforced glass" upgrade for thors making neural parasite unable to get to thor pilot or requiring full infester energy or something.
The biggest mistake I have experienced playing roach ravager is NOT including some hydras and lings in the mix. Roaches simply shoot too slow, and hydras have MUCH higher DPS. Plus roaches are armored and all those units that do extra dmg to armored just rip through roaches quickly. Lings help as extra distractions and I keep on trailing them in as reinforcements, as they're quick and easy to produce. The added extra tic-tic-tic dmg helps slowly dwindle down forces, and in larger numbers can trap the enemy so that your biles land. I have found roach ravager is best done reinforced with others.
I feel like tank and widow mines aren't very good in TvZ, just too much friendly fire. Mech Terran seems to be the best against zerg. Blue flame hellbats hard counter zerglings, and you get cyclones for everything else including buildings
Any intelligent person just shrugs their shoulders at this because they know balance wise zerg has had the shaft. Blizzard won't fix the imbalance and well the game is already dead now. Blizzard was not smart enough to remove the thing that killed sc2 in HotS which was the widow mine. Mathmatically speaking terran get to many advantages that should essentially make them never lose a TvZ and if they do it shows just how bad they played. I can't respect a terran player who beats a zerg its impossible because of the fact zerg is horrendously UP. Terran 1. Free workers. Don't matter most of the time when they play bad and lose scvs. I seen terrans lose 60 scvs and then drop like 12 mules and like nothing happened the game continues. 2. Widow mines require absolutely no effort from terran and have a 1 hit impact that has won games even at pro level since HotS (and this is where we lost our views and player base). Because no one enjoyed seeing a game that came down to a terran player simply waiting for a widow mine hit to connect to automatically get the free win. 3. So many things make terran the "set it and forget it" race.They have Tanks, widow mines, planetary fortress , repair making things almost unkillable unless you remove scvs, turrets (turrets have more DPS than the other 2 races...) ya. Could go on all day. 4. Battlecruisers are nearly impossible to beat as zerg. If a terran wants at anytime they can teleport away and its FAST. So they attack fk up your sht and they you try to counter with your slow as balls corruptors and vipers and what happens? You might get 1 if you lucky before they teleport away. What moron I wonder at blizzard thought it was ok to introduce that without giving zerg a good counter. Mass BC will just kill zerg with such trade efficiency if you can trade at all that is that you can't lose. 5. Scans? Why does 1 race get in game maphacks for free while zerg has to spend real resources on scouting and just "cross their fingers" hoping terran is dumb and won't snipe their overlords with something as simple as marines. or turrets. The overall fact is terran needs almost no skill to get this done and zerg needs to be a freaking god to just "stay in the game" and instead die later. This game is an embarrassment these days.
Aaaaand another game where a top Terran can't deal with Roach, Rvaagers + Infestors... Hate to see it. Almost as if Terran doesn't roflstomp early it's GG unless the Zerg makes a mistake. Literally nothing they cna do apparently. Good to see SC is still wildly unbalanced but god damn it is it fun when eventually the underdog manages to geta win by playing out of his mind.
Emp is just too strong. Ghost is too broken for what it can do. They should make protoss shield upgrades relevant and add on a minimum thresh hold against Emp when they go for shield upgrades. This also wouldn't affect balance against zerg. Tier 1 = 10% - %20 Tier 2 = 20% - %35 Tier 3 = 35% - %50 The shields can't go below those thresholds when they are EMPed. That would make archons and most of the other protoss units not as vulnerable against ghosts. Some other people have also mentioned removing emp shield reduction entirely and actually increasing how much energy is taken away by EMP. With this change, the disruptor would then gain an energy bar and this would move ghost closer to being more of an anti spell caster unit. Another suggestion would be to make EMP temporary and after a set amount of time, the protoss shields would return to full. Any other good suggestions more than welcomed. Protoss is not in a great state compared to the other two races. It's legit almost been a decade since they won worlds. They also don't have an all around amazing unit like queens or ghosts. Its almost like they massively cheesed on the ladder with void rays and shield batteries or something. Its not like we had queen walks or had to deal with turtle Terran / bunker rushing. Lol, protoss shields already return to full after a certain period. How long do you want them to stay off, 10-15sec so they turn on in-fight? EMP on the disruptor would be a buff for T. Right now, disruptors are kinda the counter to ghosts, as they outrange ghosts and ghosts can't do anything vs them, opposed to colossi and HT. With an energy bar on the disruptor and a max of t2 shields upgrade on the protoss army, bio would shred toss, as they have no realiable splash remaining if T has vikings, EMP and stim. While i agree that ghosts are too strong, this is absolutely not the solution to change it.
Show me a Protoss that can execute a 3, or even just a 2 pronged attack with any competence then lose and we'll talk about balance. Until then the only response any Protoss whining deserves is "git gud". And just to address your nonsensical upgrade buff - You're talking about the only direct-damage ability Terran has; One that cannot kill a unit, no matter how much you use it. All the while Protoss has a reasonably powerful counter to Ghosts that they seem to forget even exists. Now, the idea of making Disruptors use enegery... That's great... Hilarious, even. It shows why Protoss are struggling so much. Namely - Protoss players think that a piece of garbage like a Disruptor is worth a damn. It's dead supply 70% of the time; 20% of the time, it fails to justify it's price as it dies before it kills enough units to offset it's cost; 9.9% of the time it's kind of worth it; 0.1% of the time it looks like it's somehow a great unit because someone was REALLY not paying attention. Meanwhile, 3-4 Psionic Storms can do several times as much damage without you needing to play around your own spells and interrupting your flow of damage just to hopefully land a hit. To summarize in one qip - Skill issue.

That fourth game, I know marines are pretty OP, but if your opponent is going mass roaches, maybe a few marauders would be a good mix.
