    Gonna try and pick up the materials today and give it try this evening. My wheel arrives in a couple of days, so I'm pretty excited! Thanks for the video!

    All u need is a racing seat. Which can easily be gotten at any junkyard. I'm working on a huge rig at the moment. This definitely gave me some more ideas. Thanks man.

    Thanks very much, I used a malamine base. I used 3 lengths of the thin wood (cut last brace from the left-over of the bench plate). I have
    'Goliath' locking pins for the four knee joints to collapse right down. This works perfectly

    Fun fact of the day: My original car simulator build video is my 3rd most viewed video!
    Thought I'd mention that before people inevitably say this seems out of place on the channel. Enjoy!

      Nice video tutorial. I was thinking of creating one myself. And it's not really out of place, maybe a bit. At least it has steering wheel.

    Thank you so much dude. I finished it today it fits perfect nice and stable and (for me) only 20 euros and they sell shitty ones made out of metal for 85 so thank you so much it will help me so much

    I once used my mums old sit up exercise machine. Took it apart moved a couple parts about n bolted a old piece of window sill to it. Had foam and pads already fitted n could also fold down because of how it was already designed to pivot wen exercising

    I Made a playseat using some old plywoof to make the base,wheel stand, TV stand, and pedal platform. and also made a custom molded seat using wood for the general shape, and using two XL vacuum seal bags taped together filled with polystyrene bean bag beans, filled with resin, then made a fiberglass copy of it. just like real formula 1 seats but on a budget.

    Great video, Im thinking of making something even simpler (but have zero wheel sim racing experience) by just attaching a small U shaped piece of bar to a base. So I can then sit on the bar and wedge a wheel -base onto my lap. Probably cant have ff but I think its the simplest, most portable solution?

  • @alfwaibel4773
    @alfwaibel4773 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For the base I would suggest to use some kind of tiles, maybe some stone tiles. Then it would stand rigid enough and don´t slide in any direction. But beside of that, great showing!

    There are plenty of good racing seats for your SIM setup at local auto junkyards. Good "ride height" and support at the right price. Just bolt to the floor.

    cool video and great plans. I'm curious- do you know how high off the floor the seating surface for your couch is? A higher seating surface would necessitate either raising the base (thicker material, etc.) or making modifications to the lengths of the stand pieces.

    • @culturevulture6292
      @culturevulture6292 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could put a number of holes in the back support to make it height adjustable.

    Hey Kyle, could you do a video about why most drag cars don't seem to use wings to get more traction off the line? I know top fuel does, but most other classes don't seem to. Surely even massive drag tires can't handle the 2,000+ horsepower being put out by a lot of these vehicles.

    Is simracing really worth it? I understand how hight simulation quality is today, but I thought that performance driving is guided primarily by acceleration feel (that "feeling car with your butt" thing), but sim gives you visual input only.

    • @ernestoperez717
      @ernestoperez717 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can tell you right now that Sim driving is BEYOND worth it. Sim driving has made be a better driver myself IRL. one thing that I realized myself when using a driving simulator is that "you have to treat the simulator as if it was real life, and treat real life as if it was the simulator". you learn alot of things in the simulator like steering wheel feel, you feel what understeer feels like and you learn to listen for wheel slip and pedal feel. the most valuable thing about sim driving is you get all the driving experience without having to spend money on a real car to practice on and maintain, gas and tires, and giong to the track, you can just wake up and walk to your living room.
      hope this helps.

      I am asking because i am living in Siberia, and thanks to Tzar's insanity initial costs of simracing and Lada with welded diff is roughly the same.

      good point about Lada :D it's just that sim will cost u much less than Lada repair ) not to mention you'll never be able to drift like crazy over the forest doing 160 kph ))

    I'd hate to say this, but no shit it will fit the G25, (that you forgot) G27, G29, and G920, but they are the same damn thing give or take a few buttons that are now missing on the G29/920. Not mention that would hold 90% of the wheels on the market if not all. Other than that it's a fucking genius idea nice job.
