Just for clarification, there is a difference between the Fernbank Science Center and the Fernbank Museum. The Fernbank Science Center is free admission and houses the actual Apollo 6 capsule and an incredible planetarium that does require tickets. The Fernbank Museum, on the other hand, is not free and showcases dinosaurs and many of the images from this video. Both are worth the visit and showcase the importance of science in the Atlanta Community.

MLK is a must, check operating hours for ebeneezer church and a house tour (need tickets) and the national park king museum, the King Center can be done quickly, it’s just one small exhibit.

Here are some Atlanta scams tourists should be aware of: 1) Lie, Cry, Run to Daddy, Damsel in Distress, and Hold My Baby. 1) "Lie, Cry, Run to Daddy" goes like this: you're in a coffee shop or a restaurant when some hick starts dissing you about your clothes, accent, skin color, manners, etc. He pretends to be talking to his woman or his mate, but he's talking loud enough to annoy you. You get up, go over, have words, and punch the punk. Before you know it, you're in jail and then in court. You get jail time, a fine, and sued by the hayseed you punched. In jail, you get extorted. 2) "Damsel in Distress" works like this: You pull into a convenience for a bottle of wine & some cigarettes. It's night time & some pretty, well dressed, young woman comes up to you and gives you a sob story. Her boyfriend dumped here her after he slapped her around & she just needs a ride home. You agree to help her out. When you open the door to let her out of your car, you get jumped, beaten, robbed, jacked & she disappears. 3) "Hold My Baby": Just don't do it. You'll get framed for touching the kid inappropriately. Atlanta is a nice city, but I'd advise you to contact the local "Bunko Squad" before you visit. It could be that there's some newly emerging con that's designed to fleece tourists of their hard earned cash.
