@@bearnecessiteespolio5359agree with the depths that shorts are going to. I think it’s quite interesting to hear him describe one of his memorable artistic interactions, with a legendary and accomplished director, in the film that won him an Oscar. Most people watching this at my age will be aware of who he, Ridley Scott and the film Gladiator are. Completely fine to have an opinion but the thousands of hours him and Ridley Scott have put into film surely adds some well earned respect on his little story here

I mean, you could break down anything like that and male it look dumb. Music ist just some noise. Books are just made up stories. Art is just some colors splashed together.
What makes all these things great are our emotions.
People are passionate about different things. A lot of people are passionate about movies. So yeah, actors pretend to be someone they're not. But they can make us laugh. They can make us cry. They can make us angry. They can make us feel so many things.
And that's worth something. So I understand why people respect gold actors.
And a lot of people are passionate about Gladiator. And you're curious about your passions. That's what makes it interesting to them.
If you're not into movies and especially not into Gladiator, I totally understand why it's boring to you. But that doesn't make it boring per se.
If the video would be about some behind the scenes stuff of 50 Shades of Grey, it would also be boring for me. But interesting for others.
And even though I agree with what you said about TH-cam Shorts, I think it is quite interesting that such an insignificant scene made Ridley think that Crowe would be so amazing. One would think it was him doing a glorious speech or something. Not watching a bird.
But yeah, I still understand why the video can be boring for some people. But I just don't agree with the opinion that it's boring in general. It's boring for some people and interesting for others.
My apologies for writing such a long comment. And my apologies for any grammar mistakes. English isn't your first language.
But I wish you a good day or night and I wish you that the TH-cam algorithm will understand your taste better and will show you videos that interest you in the future.

The "husband to a murdered wife" line was so powerful. You could literally see it in his face, eyes, his body movement that he meant every word he said, even the "I will have my vengeance.... whether it be in this life or the next".
You literally went.... yeah he will kill you. It will happen and he will not stop until he's finished his mission.
One of the greatest line/scene deliveries of all time right there.

It was spectacular to watch that scene in the theater when it first came out. That whole movie was just incredible on the big screen. The whole scene was real, too. In the special features on the Blu Ray, there is a segment that discusses the opening scene with the flaming arrows. The forestry service was planning to do a controlled burn of that entire forest. Ridley Scott and his producers convinced them to allow them to shoot the scene and then once the cameras stopped rolling, the firefighters could come in and take over to manage the fires and burn the rest of the areas they planned to burn. Ridley said it was such good luck that they found this perfect location and they could use real flaming arrows, not CGI.

Let's not forget the late, great Oliver Reed in the movie also. He was a hell raiser in his time and with regard to his acting, he could be annoyingly over the top sometimes, but I think Ridley Scott may have told him to dial his usual excesses back several notches, and his performance in the movie is much more restrained and calm as a result. The movie benefits greatly from that. Not to take anything away from Russell Crowe of course. As others have rightly described the movie - a masterpiece - one for the ages.
And it doesn't need a bloody sequel either - it was a perfectly executed, stand alone movie, utterly complete as was.
