    Hello first time visitor to this video log. If you are looking for a beautifully edited family sailing diary, honest and decent, with practical examples and adventure waiting in every episode, look no farther. Well worth subscribing. I am a penurious RAN Sailing addict, but if you find yourself in love and in pocket, please give to them on Patreon. Vera is incredibly bright, Johan is a 21st C. Viking, and Malin is his smart Freya. But my secret love is the RAN ll (Najad 440) as maintained and constantly enhanced by Johan. The perfect cruiser. And when the weather lifts - the Bay of Biscay! In case you haven't noticed, I love this channel and these guys. Peace!

    Fabulous place. Have only been once, on a cycle tour. Took our bike across the channel from Plymouth to Roscoff and cycled most of Brittany. Stayed two days in Camaret-sur-Mer. Such a beautiful place.

    Hi guys! I really like your videos. Really. The quality is good. The comments are interesting and "intelligent", the soundtrack enjoyable and relaxing. You are so nice. So natural. So "human". Your daughter is so cute and smart, a bright flower in the spring sun. I love her communication skills. Your boat is great, you really made a deal. And made she even better, then. Thank you for all that!😀

    Camaret sur Mer, has a an abandoned fishing fleet on the shore that we showed in one of our videos. The beaches to the North West are great for kids to explore with lots of rock pools and sealife. Two classic wooden sailing vessels mooring there. If you talk to the right people you can get a sail on them. Nice video. Sail Safe Guys, Ant, Cid & the pooch crew.

  •  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wow it looks like the weather has been very harsh to do much traveling on the water. The aquarium looked like a beautiful place for a day on land. Maybe little Vera was a bit afraid to think about what’s beneath the home she lives, and travels in ? She is growing fast, and she is such a beautiful little girl. Before you know it she will be at the helm of the boat all by herself. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures 👍 yesireebob

    Wellcome in our beautifull Brittany ! Mind you going south , you 'll find better shelters , and even nicer places ( i am from south Brittany) ! may we suggest to you Benodet/Sainte-Marine ( you can go up the river it is worth it), then going out if the weather is ok , dont forget Glenan islands . Then super spot in Belle-Ile ( Stir-Wen fjord very technical mooring) , and you must absolutly go inside Golfe du Morbihan, a lot of islands , and spend a few days in Vannes ( you'll be 50 meters from the magnificient medieval city), in a shelter where even 100 Knts of wind are barely noticeable. Have a good trip and take care. PS: if in a few month time you are not too far south , we might catch up with you , may be in spain or portugal , since we will start our own journey mid 2022....

    The Bay of Biscain is always a terrible weather location for sailors. I have been privileged to race across it four times, twice in Catamarans and twice in Mono Hulls. I always felt better in a Catamaran. Good luck and wishing for safe passages wherever you may travel.

    30 knots true is the highest I ever saw, personally. It was more than enough. Wind pressure increases logarithmically. i.e. 40 knots has 8 times the wind power of 20 knots, not twice as much. Go RAN!!!

    • @cbrucewarren
      @cbrucewarren 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      pressure is function of wind speed squared, so 2x speed is 4x force, not 8x... ;-)

    I thought that with Vera carrying a basket in the chandlery, that she would have to carry the new anchor back for you!
    Nothing like having Vera participate in the chores. I thought Johan might give her several items of clothing to take to the dryer, but, NO, one at a time! Good plan to stop there and NOT continue to cross the Bay! Did you get the name of that catamaran to see if it made it south to Spain?
    It looked like one of the other Swedish boats was also a Najad. Family sailing is more enjoyable to watch!
