RAN II episodes bring the beauty of sailing with Malin and Vera, even with fresh volcanic ashes. The festival of stars on La Palma and that close-up of the large, inscribed star is much appreciated. Your video's are so interesting and just special....one of my weekly favourites. Thanks so much. You're doing great work entertaining those of us who are unable to travel. May 2022 be prosperous and joyful for you. Blessings from Cape Town, South Africa.💝
Thank you for showing so much of the Island. My wife grew up on the closest village to Quinta do Lorde (Canical) and moved to the US at the age of 13. We returned to Madeira in 2013 to get married at an overlook just up the hill from your marina. I'll also be arriving to the Island by sailboat in about 2 years. Thank you for your videos... they're inspirational.
Hey guys, here's a tip for swelly harbours. Get some long climbing ropes. They are very streachy so you can attach them as additional mooringlines. Double or tripple them up and make them shorter than your mooring lines. That way they dampen the blow. Makes things a lot smoother and reduces strain. Even better than shock adsorbers. Smooth riding, cheers Mark
I think Vera taking her sock off in the background in the begging of the episode was adorable. Reminds me of when my twins were little and anytime we came back to the house they immediately took their socks off. Didn't matter if we were leaving again in 5 mnts, it was a whole ordeal to get everyone's socks on again.
Great episode... JOHAN IS THE MAN....BUT IF I MAY.... ask you to include a little more of the technicalities of sailing to each destination, plotting, weather etc. There isn't anyone more appealing in TH-cam sailing videos than your little family. And no one other than Johan that I'd rather hear talk about mechanics, systems, weather planning and the like. We're saving our pennies and when we get out there, we'll look for Ran, but don't be surprised if the first person we address is Vera! What a kid!
After gorging on all previous episodes for a few months, I now have to wait for new ones like everyone else! I think I’ll savor this episode until after dinner tonight.
Beutifull boat and perfect sailing, watching your vidios one can really see that you know how to sail and get the best from your boat, she's a beauty, safe passage to you three.
This vessel is your home and family centre. You have to br proud of it, rightly so. It is an excellent vessel and you have updated it a lot and it does sail very well. i still think however that you must keep all eyes on your youngest crew member, lest she sail away one day (soon) and take over the captain's chair LOL.
I always enjoy your videos. As a naval architct, professional boat builder and keen sailor, I have always been interested in cruising yacht design. So I whole heartedly agree with your comments when comparing RAN I with RAN II. A long tme ago I realised that a medium displacement vessel with a long fin keel and skeg hung rudder was the best design combination for both performance and livability, (just as you outlined). There are many excellent designs (as with your vessel) that demonstrate the wisdom of this design combination.
Beautiful and interesting! By the way, the words on the star are: do not be afraid when everything gets dark, remember that in the dark the stars come out (unknown author)
Thank you for sharing all that you do. Such a great mix of scenery, sailing info, history, and your family stories too. Hugs and blessings to YouThree, Gloria
I really like your boat too :-) ... I also love our Island Packet. You guys are way out in front of the curve TH-cam sailing channel wise. Thank you for the inspiration, positive vibes and wonderful video documentation of your travels. We hope to leave the Pacific Northwest south down the coast late this summer. Maybe you'll come back through the canal to the Pacific again?
I was at Santa Cruz marina before and after the gate. Not much difference. Best is Tazacorte, before the volcano. Hope you're on your way to Mindelo. Love to say hi.
Happy New Year, may this year bring new adventures an much love an joy to your family! May your sails be full of wind an your hearts full of wonder. Seeing the world thru the eyes of a child is a beautiful gift!! Give each other hugs an kisses from our family to yours ✌🏻💗😊❣️
I have been following the news on the internet about the volcano. It has been very bad for the island. You be safe on your travels. I enjoy sailing with you.
Thanks for posting and sharing. Very nice to see ANOTHER beautiful destination. I am looking forward to "meeting" your Island dwelling friends in the next episode.
I just caught up on all the episodes last week. I started in last November episode by episode. Thanks to you guys, I remembered how great sailing is and realized what my goal is. To get back under sail. Thank you very much for that.
Happy New Years I have missed not sailing with you. What a wonderful yacht-home you have there so lovingly cared for it is such a treat being able to share in your adventures Wishing as always health and happiness Love
1st time here. Lovely vlog and beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing your beautiful vessel. Truly enjoyed the passage. Happy New Year 2022 to a lovely family. 💕
If I ever get to sail a little further from home I know to avoid La Palma. Sorry to see you having such a bad experience there. Otherwise, great video! Thank you!
You picked up some of the ash and mention how fine it was. Sometime age I believe Icland had volcanic activity. They had in fact redirect planes well some ended up going thru some fallout. It was like getting the plane sandblast even destroyed a couple of engines.
Hi, Happy 2022. Are you sure you are not Italian? You certainly love your pasta! But then so do I and I am a Scots/German Canadian. Keep the great videos coming. Stay safe and happy. Hope COVID doesn’t hamper your plans too much.
Loved this episode X
always look forward to spending a little time watching Ran II on Fridays. Keep up the adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this video,... always wonderful to see new places!!! Safe travels.

I have been catching up with your Sweden to Pacific adventure in April 22,its been fun to binge watch the last 6 months, kind regards ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Love Ran II and how she slices right through the waves like butter! Great to see you guys making ocean passages again!

Incredible video! The clarity is amazing! It's as if we are there in person!
Vera is so adorable!!!
Madiera and La Palma are so beautiful!
Their camera techniques are top notch!
Thank you RAN for 283...
Another great episode. Another island added to the bucket list. You're costing me a fortune 😀 Stay safe out there.

That shot that you got of the sunrise in Madiera was amazing.
I'm never ready for your videos to end. Thank you for taking me to faraway places and sharing your sailing and Vera with us. Happy New Year!
Aye m8’s! Thnx Johan, brilliant discussion about boat speed versus cruising speed👌🏽
So calming 😌 great video.
Thanks for sharing, stay safe!!
Awesome peek into a new destination!
I appreciate how much more comfortable Johan is with the vlogging now, compared to your early videos.

One of your best videos.
Oooo, looking forward to the next episode! Visiting during an eruption is really something :)
Another very nice video !
Nothing worse than a very rolly marina, but nothing better than walking around new towns !!!
I’m loving the 4k picture quality 👍

Enjoyable as always.😀👍
So many beautiful cloud pictures on the horizons! In colours that only nature can paint.
I took oil rigs into shipyard in Las Palmas to complete 5 year USCG inspections and overhauls on drilling equipment.
That was enjoyable & I didn’t know you had a tattoo!!
Well said. Great video!
Great video guys. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Be safe.

Nice. Thanks.
Just perfect, love it.
Love Madeira! Going back there in a week or 2..

Can't wait for next week's episode.
You picked up some of the ash and mention how fine it was. Sometime age I believe Icland had volcanic activity. They had in fact redirect planes well some ended up going thru some fallout. It was like getting the plane sandblast even destroyed a couple of engines.
You guys are a very cute family and I enjoy your videos. Cheers!

Vilket äventyr ni lever! En dröm man har att segla jorden runt!
I believe the boat likes you too!
Seeing an active erupting volcano in real life is definitely near the top of my bucketlist
Great camera work on deck. I feel like I'm aboard holding the camera for you.
So interesting again. I don't envy your marina berth though.
