What a marvelous evolution. The primer over the entire boat has unified all the bow, stern and doghouse enhancements into single, very cool custom boat! Well done. Can’t wait to see the interior with its primer coat applied.
What a transformation! She's becoming a real beauty. I remember some of the angst over how the bowsprit would look but after painting it looks great. The doghouse looks superb.
I was interested to see what the new bow would look like in one color. Totally works. Caught myself smiling when the boat was fully primed, you can see her true figure. 🙌
What a moment for you. And just like that, all of those components and details you've designed and built...are connected with a first coat of paint...into a reincarnated Duracell. Wow. Congratulations on this huge milestone.
The primer is such a milestone, a consolidation of so many alterations. Very pleased for you that it is looking good. Also, what a great team, from Matt's Mum's huge dedication, to Janneke's work behind the scenes, Matts skills, the inspector's powerful whiskers, and all the contributions by friends, Small's fairers, and the sponsors.
Your mom is an absolute legend. The silent star of the show. Great videos. This project makes me want to travel into the future. Can’t wait to see Duracell float. 👍🏼👍🏼 (btw, keep that name 😃)
Amazing Matt, she looks absolutely brilliant. This is certainly a milestone and a obvious achievement which indicates your ability and dedication in action as before just positive professionalism at a pinnacle point. A Huge shout out to all participant's! Job well done.
So so cool to see it in one color now. To see all your hard work transforming Duracell. Looks awesome you guys. Matt your mom is an extraordinary jewel ! And your vision for Duracell is incredible. Thanks for sharing this journey with us.
Matt, you and your entire team, especially including the videographer and Mom have truly produced a stunning ship of dreams together. So pleasing to see yalls floating home come together. Perfect video evidence displayed in the design and workmanship attitude. I really envy the joy of sailing in that crib yall have made. Sweet sweet sweet. Plus I like the idea of the graduated colors of La Paz draping over its shapely curves. There something very special about your Inspector General. I’d say the colors aught to magnify yalls favorite family colors for gentle excitement outside and peace and tranquility on the inside. Cracker Jacks a good color🥹
The fact that you are not only continuing to do this, but have increased your capabilities while dealing with a baby. Dude you both (and mom too) deserve all the respect in the world!
Duracell Gold with a Copper Top along with a copper anti fouling hull would be the most appropriate final choice of colors. As the name of the channel and the boat is what drew us here ! Who knows maybe they will provide you with batteries for life. …..😁👍
Congratulations guys. I’ve been watching since episode 1 and it’s amazing to see the boats transformation and how you’ve transformed to being much more comfortable in front of the camera. Awesome stuff
Congratulations on achieving such an important milestone. Duracell looks amazing now that she is one colour. She certainly looks a lot larger than before and I love how the stern and the doghouse really stand out. She is going to be a stunning world cruising yacht, capable of taking you wherever you desire. She will be admired by all. Thank you for continuing to share your journey. 👏
OK Matt, Been following your project from the first vid. A feeling of excitment hit hard when you hit that bow with paint. You made it YOURS!!! Well done!!
I think you are doing a great job and I’m sure you are grateful to your wife and your mom for helping you out and videoing the whole operation. Great job guys.
I have so many thoughts on this video. First and foremost, WOW. Just Wow! So amazing of a difference, and such a fine job of applying the paint. The boat looks much more real, if you will forgive that usage. Second, I'd like to change my vote for the name... Because, Jeez, Matt, your Mom! I think you should consider naming it after her. Very traditional, and very appropriate. Talk about supportive- rolling up the sleeves and putting in countless hours of hard labor. So, yeah, think on that. Another great video and thanks
Matt and your Mum, Duracell is looking simply stunning in the new primer. Mike Plant would no doubt be delighted if he could see how you are bringing his creation back to life. Best wishes to the entire team. Malcolm (UK)
I love how you guys highlighted the spraying of the last bit, the bow. I totally get how momentous that felt, congratulations on a magnificent milestone you all!
Must have been the most satisfying two days so far. The transition is stunning, you can really get a feel for how beautiful her lines were going to be.
Props Matt! Duracell looks much larger than ever. I’m sure it is the perspective from filming, but still. I say some shade of BLUE. I’m sure your choice will be as all your choices, tasteful and exquisite. Keep rolling.
First of all, your mother is amazing! The boat looks totally transformed. It all makes sense now. About the colour , all I can offer is the old saying “there are only two colours to paint a boat, white and black and no one in their right mind would paint a boat black” I’m sure what ever colour you choose, it will be stunning. Well done, folks.
You are so lucky that your boat is equipped with a nuclear power plant ie your mother, the woman has an insane work ethic, I think you should market a soft toy just like her so we can all buy one and give her a huge cuddle. The outcome was fantastic, totally professional as has every other aspect of this remodelling mission.
Just like when you finished painting the cockpit, the transformation is astounding, Also. My warped sense of humor says to use teakwood vinyl wrap on all the decking and the doghouse roof. 😁
Purdy! You must be stoked. I’m refitting my boat too and watching your videos is a huge motivation for me. Hope to see you out there in the not too distant future. Keep your eyes open for a new 1969 Iroquois mk2 named Cheers
Having been around here from video number 3 or 4, my luck, watching Duracell (i'm sorry, in my head I still call her with the original name, and in my hearth I hope you decide to keep it) reaching this mega step, and really starting to look like a shiny, splendid boat, I am amazed. What a job you've done, mate! Keep up, guys!
Matt, I it is great to see your boat starting to be painted. I like it when you say before starting some projects I’m a little nervous. I think it makes you more aware. Happy to see your mom helping. I am a fan. Take care
You guys are amazing , and what you have achieved so far is unbelievable. A number of years ago I completed a full resto on a ganely 42 only for it to end up on the rocks from the new owner . I’m currently in Perth western Australia but heading back to NZ in march , I’m currently looking at a Ganely 39 to enjoy when we get back . Love your videos and your thought process. So thankyou Kevin and Janet
I am sure by watching all of your videos from the onset, that you have put in a bunch of work in Duracel’s refit, aside from that I would like to note my hope that you are FOREVER GRATEFUL to your wonderful Mother, as with most mothers, she is the gift that keeps on giving, and your Mother is a PRIME EXAMPLE!!!!!
The shots from the bow after the paint look bad ass. What an absolute rocket ship of a yacht. It looks like 20 knots sitting still. For color scheme I would take a lot of risk and no short cuts. Personal preference would be red white and blue. Other option, lots of longitudinal black and gold. Chances of blending in anywhere are small so mind as well embrace the flavor.
Beautiful job getting to this point. You have really changed her but you can still see Duracell peeking through the modifications which is amazing. I vote for a dark blue hull with cream deck and superstructure
Feels like I've been waiting years for this moment... oh wait, I have!! Wow!! What a transformation. Looks more like a boat and less like a "project". I just bought a new house and we spent days and days compounding, sanding, painting, and priming so this really hit home on the heels of completing similar work.
Wow Matt! I hope that accomplishment feels as good as it looks. What a huge milestone. You are so good at bringing us along for the ride. And you are so lucky to have such a great cinematographer and editor in Yanni. And your Mom is an absolute champ! Congratulations to all of you. WELL DONE!
I cant believe we’ve come this far on the project..the boat is n now primed, there’s a baby on board, its crazy. Whew my hand hurts from holding the phone up and watching so many episodes..its hard work! Nice work Duracell fam!
A marvelous transformation we all knew was coming but...wow! When it actually happens you really see how your key design elements came out and I have to say that doghouse looks really good. Purposeful, yet classically styled and proper. Big step forward...congrats from SY Miss Foxy, in Singapore!
I'm voting "Judy" for name. Where I'm from fishing boats were always moms name and later daughters name. As a sailor and someone familiar with large boatbuilding what you people have accomplished is amazing. Your design and build quality is over the top. Can't wait till i see your vids sailing this machine. Much respect
WOW! Another great milestone. It must be mixed feelings. Sad all your work is covered up and can't be visually appreciated and extremely satisfying to see how well all that work turned our. Congratulations Matt
The visual impact the 'paint' job gives really highlights the great work results you've achieved so far. What an awesome job. And a special mention to your mom - what a gal!
What a massive, successfull step doing the primer. Congratiolations. Now the wolrd (boat ) does look complete different... keep the good work and cool ideas coming....
Congrats to this new stage, I can't even imagine the feeling of satisfaction seeing tons of work emerging in a beautiful surface and shape. Looks great!!
You gotta love how Dave, being a man who deals with customers daily had such an eloquent rebuff of the inspector colour scheme😂 I know it's only the primer but it has really lifted the boat, she looks beautiful and after all the debate about the bowsprit I think it looks great. Nice work Matt and great video Janneke. Godbless ❤
I remember when my Sailing magazine came with your boat on the cover. I was a kid. What you are doing is absolutely amazing and I’m very grateful that you are sharing the resurrection with everyone.
Fantastic job, and other than Mom’s help with keeping up the mixing tasks, you did lit solo. Not to mention all the hand work of prepping that big surface. My tip goes back to pouring from the bucket into mixing cups. Use a standard (means cheap) kitchen bowl spatula. It helps get the most out of the can.
What a huge step towards completing the exterior. Your mom sure seems to be your greatest ally along with your wife who really has a lot on her plate 😮in helping with the boat. Looks great and you have really come a long way since picking up the boat.
wowowowowow! What a difference! I bet you were wiped out. Mom is an amazing helper! The boat really does have a pretty shape. I can't wait until you all decide on a color scheme!
What beautiful work. The color is perfect for the hull. Just add a soft tan to the decks cockpit and doghouse front back and sides with maroon transom and boot stripe and accent striping around windows and door. A traditional look that would reduce Sun glare in Summer. Great work on both the boat and the video
Matt - Hope you, your family, and the boat come through this series of storms healthy, safe, and in one piece. My only comments on paint are: If your sailing is going to be primarily north of where you are, any color is going to be fine as you don't have to worry about heat buildup. If you are going to sail south of where you are and in the tropics, white is the best choice for keeping temperatures down and not bubbling the paint on the boat (ask me how I know). Use graphics and trim stripes to add the pop.
Your Mom is absolutely awesome! What a help!
That boat... Should be named "Mom❤"
Total legend!
Judy is a gem ❤
She is an amazing person, her skill and endurance are something to be admired.
She should have disposable gloves that fit her hands!
That paint crew that fared the boat killed it and you did excellent laying down the primer
What a marvelous evolution. The primer over the entire boat has unified all the bow, stern and doghouse enhancements into single, very cool custom boat! Well done. Can’t wait to see the interior with its primer coat applied.
You have two of the most amazing women in your life, your wife and mother. You are sooooooo blessed.❤❤❤
Looks amazing!!! The bow looks fantastic in the primer, really shows off the shape. Beautiful😘
Big props to your mom! You wouldn’t be anywhere near this stage without her. She’s just brilliant! 🤩
I’ve been following for a long time and I can say this is the most satisfying video till now!
The boat looks awesome!
I’m in my 60s and have been a paint sprayer my whole working life , you done good !!
That’s a BIG job and what an excellent milestone to reach 👏🏼😎
Man your Mom is awesome! She is a trooper.
01:00 the synchronised back and forth of the polythene on the windows makes it look like it is breathing. You are bringing Duracell back to life 😁
Grandma, you’re the best! What a huge help you are. And that boat is truly beautiful. Can’t wait to see it finished.
Your mom is an absolute legend. The silent star of the show. Great videos. This project makes me want to travel into the future. Can’t wait to see Duracell float. 👍🏼👍🏼 (btw, keep that name 😃)
Matt, your mom is a rock star! Reminds me of my mom, no job too hard or too dirty or too tedious. Just gear up and "let's go!" You are a lucky man.
Yes can’t help saying again what an amazing mom you have, she’s a blessing to this build.
Wow! The transformation is beautiful! Your Mom is wonderful! Great job!
Looks great guys! Congratulations!
Amazing Matt, she looks absolutely brilliant. This is certainly a milestone and a obvious achievement which indicates your ability and dedication in action as before just positive professionalism at a pinnacle point. A Huge shout out to all participant's! Job well done.
Fantastic 🎉 Professional Plan, Prep and Paint. Congratulations to suppliers and crews 😅
So so cool to see it in one color now. To see all your hard work transforming Duracell. Looks awesome you guys. Matt your mom is an extraordinary jewel ! And your vision for Duracell is incredible. Thanks for sharing this journey with us.

Wow! Now you can actually see what a great job they did with the fairing! The back of Duracell looks babybutt smooth!
Man is it good to Duracell back in one color❤ one step closer to being back in the water where she belongs!
Thank you for saving this glorious boat!🎉🎉
WOW!! The Boat looks so much bigger now that its all one color!! Beautiful work. 🥰🥰 Im so excited for y'all!
Your mum is a legend, hard working woman ❤❤
always great to see a boat being painted
Congratulations!🥰
Duracell Gold with a Copper Top along with a copper anti fouling hull would be the most appropriate final choice of colors. As the name of the channel and the boat is what drew us here !
Who knows maybe they will provide you with batteries for life. …..😁👍
Absolutely awesome, following this rebirth with great appreciation.
Spraying/painting is the most satisfying part 👍 but preparation is the key to it. And that takes long 😩. Looks REALLY good 👍👏
That was intensely satisfying to watch and what a result!! The boat looks amazing 😀. You must all be very proud of getting to this stage.
Congratulations guys. I’ve been watching since episode 1 and it’s amazing to see the boats transformation and how you’ve transformed to being much more comfortable in front of the camera.
Awesome stuff

Looks great. Sanding team did a great job!
Getting that first coat on is always the best because you can really see its lines for the first time, she's looking good.
You have a great project. You have my subscription.

Matt and your Mum, Duracell is looking simply stunning in the new primer. Mike Plant would no doubt be delighted if he could see how you are bringing his creation back to life. Best wishes to the entire team. Malcolm (UK)

The fairing job came out great, clean lines. Looks great mate. My favorite channel and boat project
Wow the boat is now becoming a boat, it's looking fantastic guy's. Good job to EVEYONE who is working on it.
Looking great. Huge transformation and a step closer. Your mom is awesome.
Must have been the most satisfying two days so far. The transition is stunning, you can really get a feel for how beautiful her lines were going to be.

Mom better get extended vacations on board with nice meals once complete. 😉👍
And I also hope for some correctly sized glove before it's complete

cant believe we weren't subscribed!!!! watch you guys every week and are a big inspiration for our own.. slightly different build
