This is literally the best cardigan tutorial I've seen so far and made making my cardigan so easy. I will definitely be coming back to this channel!!!
this made me rlly happy because i was gonna make a daisy one but the squares were so complicated and small but these are easy and big with a proper pattern fot the squares aking it easy to follow! This is the first crochet tutorial that i actually understood, lol Ty for making an actually understandable tutorial!! :33 (that includes a pattern omf, thats actually soo cool!!!)
Love this!! It’s very detailed and simplified for beginners like myself! You’re extremely skilled and this tutorial was a wonderful display of your abilities. If I may ask, how would the pattern look if I were only using two colors?
4 rows for the sleeve seems too long for my size. I was a little bit confused the first time. Then, I made it shorter than your tutorial. I completely finished it in one month =)))
This is a great video! I told my students that my goal is to crochet myself a cardigan this year. After watching this, it seems possible. Reading is a little easier for me, so the pattern is so helpful in the description. What were the specifics about the types of yarn again?
I still have some doubts abt the parts where u join all the parts... I wrote down the details how to crochet each part clearly... Thx to u.. its easy to understand... ❤ I'm excited to crochet my own cardigan... I'm going to do it after my semester... So I'm going to start crocheting this next month... I will keep update after i start crocheting...

I'm almost done !! thank you very much your video explains really well. i'm very proud this is one of my biggest project and it's keeping me occupied during difficult times
Loved how you demonstrated every little detail!!! I'm looking forward to make this but I don't have much idea about how much yarn I would need to make it (Like the number of skeins I would need in total) can you please guide me on that?
I'm so glad you found it helpful, all you'll be needing is 250g of yarn for each color, personally I used 2 of 100g yarn skein and 1 of 50g yarn skein for each color
Omg she explains everything so well, and the cardigan looks soo cute. I bet mine will look worse but I'll give it a try😂. Thank you so much for the tutorial ❤
Omg from all the tutorials I have seen your tutorial is the best❤!!! I am definitely making this cardigan but my color combo will be Red , green and white 😊 Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!🎉
Wow! Your tutorial is amazing! I just have a few doubts. I'm thinking about making the cardigan with just one color and I wanted to know if it would look good if I did it the same way as the tutorial (with squares) or if it is possible to do it without using squares to make it better... (I'm a beginner) Also, thank you for making a tutorial like this❤ I hope that one day I will also bring a tutorial for a cardigan similar to this but in just one color. You gained another subscriber!
Yes you can make it with one color, you'll end up with a unicolor cardigan to match with any outfit! As for the way you're making it I prefer you stick to the squares method because it's much easier to make and you can modify the height/ width by just adding/taking off squares And thank you so much ❤️I really found my people with this cardigan tutorial, let me know when you drop that ❤️
I like it so much. Also your tutorial is so understandable. I am going to give it try even though i am beginner in crocheting. Could you tell me how many yarns do i need for every color?
I'm so glad you found it helpful! Also it's really worth trying even if you're a beginner you'll easily get used to making the squares, as for the yarn you'll be needing 250grams for each each color (I wored with three colors but you can add or subtract any one you want) good luck
Hi!!! I’ve been searching all over and this is the most perfect tutorial I found mashallah (iykyk what this means haha) I was wondering if I could make all the little squares the same color, basically the whole cardigan one color lol. I would search for a tutorial that had a one color cardigan but this video shows exactly what to do when to do. Greaaaatt job🥰
So glad you found it helpful! As for the measurements, your square must measure 15cm in height/weight but if you end up with a rectangle, it doesn't really matter
After crocheting 16 squares and sewing them together (for each sleeves) take the edges of the piece and sew each stitch with its pair in the other edge, as for the middle ribbing, no you just have to make one long ribbing that you re going to attach to the right, the neck line and all the way through to the left part, I wish I was helpful, its quite difficult to explain it in text lol
Hii! İm so excited to start this project! Quick question: how many yarn balls did you use? Like would three yarn balls for each colour be a good amount? Thank you ! ^^
@@dexterousdorothy4691 i have this lovely velvety purple yarn, 2 skeins of it, and that specific color was discontinued by the creator of the yarn. i've wanted to find a good baggy cardigan or sweater to use it for, and saw this, and realized it was the perfect pattern style i wanted! i'm definitely gonna get more solid colors of that yarn, if they have any more, and make this 💙
Hey can you please tell me what size this cardigan is…I’m a bit overweight so I don’t know if it’ll be a bit tight for me if I make one similar to this size
i think that this is going to be my next project because it looks so simple and so easy to make but it also looks so good on you edit: also should i adjust if I'm a different size and how should i adjust?
one question, how do you attach not the sleeve cuffs but the other ribbing to the front panels and the collar and the bottom ribbing strip as well? is it the same as attaching all the squares to each other? i’m a beginner and want to make sure before i start attaching it so i don’t mess up my work.
-Front ribbing --> attach each stitch's side of it to one stitch's side of the squares, ie each gap in the side of the ribbing with one gap in the squares since you're working vertically (right bottom --> collar --> left bottom) -Bottom ribbing --> attach each stitch's side to two or three stitches of the squares as if you're decreasing
Thank you for the tutorial! I wonder how many rolls of yarn do you roughly use to make one? I really want to make it more oversize, and I need a benchmark to buy the yarn later, thankyou so much!!
she said she used around 250 of each. The weight is displayed in the front! Every roll can be a different size so deoenuon the size you could use more or less rolls
Omg I’m looking for a pattern and this is perfect I’m new so this will be my first but I was drawn to simple cause we share a name my names Dorothy I never see other Dorothy in the wild!
This is the best crochet cardigan I’ve found on the internet so far. I haven’t made it yet, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is adjustable? I have a small frame, so while I want this to be oversized, I don’t want to be drowning in this. If yes, how can I adjust it? What size does it fit?
Just to give you an idea of how it might look on you, I weight 65kg and Im 5'5 feet tall, and as you can see it looks quite oversized on me, what I recommend to make it smaller is to take off the bottom ligne from both the front and back panel, as for the sleeves take off one column from both the right and left sleeve to make it narrower, I wish this was helpful
Hey you said on the vedio that you used 3 columns for sleeve but then when you showed us the actual cardigan we can see that you used 4 columns of squares. That was a misleading info for me. I was really confused with mine until I realised the issue now I have to make my sleeves more baggy even though I don't want it to be that much baggy.
I have 1 question please can u answer it as fast as possible cuz i dont have time Are the squares actually supposed to be squares or like can they be a little un even like one side is a little bigger than the other or do they have to be the same
Hi I really hope u are still responding to comments… Ik that someone asked about the size of the cardigan and I’m not sure I quite understand how u answered it …I was really really hoping that u would tell me as a young teen size small or extra small how many squares I should do or maybe I should do the same number of squares except that I make them smaller. If u can tell me how much chains and rows I should do in each square square will help a ton ❤ please respond, I am counting on u to tell me the correct rows and chains I should do to fit me perfectly 😅 Oh I don’t want it to fit me tightly I want it abit oversized.💋❤ please don’t tell me that if I do the same it will fit me just fine I don’t want it too be too big for me oh and in one of the comments u replied to remove a column, how? I only remove a column from the back and in front I do the same as u did?
First of all I really appreciate your support and your sweet words means a lot ❤️❤️ as for the the size of the cardigan, there is two ways go make it smaller, just keep your eye on the pannels and read the following? 1) substracting 1 ligne vertically (column) and 1 ligne horizentally (row) from the back panel, which means you will only crochet 12 squares for the back panel (just look at the back panel and you'll get it), then substract 1 culumn and 1 row from the front pannel (make 12 squares for the front pannel), for the side pannels, substract one column and one row for each sleeve (make 12 squares for each sleeve) so in total you will crochet only 26 squares 2)or you can work with a thin yarn like #2 and a 3mm crochet hook (but still i'm not sure you would end up with a small cardigan anyway) I really hope I was helpful
2more question First i Do the same the same size of squares as u did? 😅Secondly,I understood how to do the front and back panel but the sleeves I did not understand how to subtract the coulomn for each sleeve can u tell me how many squares for each sleeve and tell me how to subtract ( horizontally and vertically for each sleeves ) I did not understand the sleeves cuz u said 12 squares for each sleeve and u did 12 squares for each meaning I do the same sleeves as u? And I am will use double crochet not half double crochet is that ok?Thank u for ur time😊
Thanks for the great tutorial!❤ But I have some problems with making it because my squares turned out 10.5 cm because my stitches are so tight😅 The problem is that now i don't know what length do i make the ribbings or if i have to make more than 60 squares, so can you please tell me how to adjust the ribbing length according to the squares i have?
Actually its not a big deal, you can join all the squares first so you have an overall look of how your cardigan turned out, then you will make the middle ribbing according to the length of the front panel, the ribbing should start by the bottom right of the front panel, go all the way up to the neck line, follows it then go down to the bottom left, so I cant tell you the exact number of rows or cm, it depends on your cardigan, I wish I was helpful
I dont think this kind of squares need to be blocked because they are already steady, as for the days It took me about 1 month to complete everything (there are days I didn't do anything lol)
@@dexterousdorothy4691 omggg i didn't expect you'd reply. Thank you very much for answering my questions! I am now subscribed coz this is the first tutorial I have seen that's so organized and went over the major steps we need. I hope you are doing great everyday!! ✨
Hi, may I ask... if I understand correctly, the yarn you are using has a recommended hook size of 5.5 mm, but you are using a 4 mm hook in the project? I know how many grams of yarn I need for the sweater, but I would ideally need to know the yardage as well, as it can vary considerably for the same number of grams depending on the thickness of the yarn. I am sorry if I missed the info somewhere... I would highly appreciate your answer because this sweater looks simply amazing and I cant wait to crochet it!
It's true that the recommended hook size is 5.5 but I opted for 4.5 to make the stitches look smaller and tighter together. As for the yardage you will need 500m (546yards) for each color (3colors) and I'm sure you're going to make a beautiful one
Hi I’m currently making this cardigan and I’m wondering how did you tuck the ends of your yarn into the squares and also can you go more in depth about how to sew the squares or are you using the invisible seam stitch? ❤❤
To tuck the end of the yarn into the squares you will want to sew the end into the back of the stitches (it doesn't matter where exactly just anywhere invisible) and yes I used the invisible stitch to sew the squares together
Hey ! Thank you for the pattern :) It is really cool !I have a question for you : since I wear really large clothes because of my weight (like 48 to 50 in French size so kinda large), do you think that i could make the squares a little bit bigger so that it would fit better ? Instead of 22 hdc i could make 24 or 26 ? What do you think? Do you have any other ideas maybe ?
Just to give you an idea, I'm 5'5 tall and I weight 65kg and it doesn't look oversized on me, so even if you are a little bit overweight just follow the same instructions and see how it turns out, if you re still unsatisfied by its size you can simply add one ligne at both the right and back panel to make it longer

@@Camii_0613 okey thankyouuu!
250g for each color (for 5'5 tall, 65kg weighing person) but even if you are over/under weight it will fit on you because its oversized
@@dexterousdorothy4691 okey, thankyou so much!
So the square is measured 15cm.. Which is 18 rows?
Yes
Wow!!! Hi girllll I loved your channel.✨
I'm a muslim girl too and one of my biggest hobbies is crocheting... 💕🦋
Good luckkkk🫧🤍

Omg I’m looking for a pattern and this is perfect I’m new so this will be my first but I was drawn to simple cause we share a name my names Dorothy I never see other Dorothy in the wild!
Omg I thought I'll never meet whose name is the same as mine TT
I love your work! I want to ask how many roll of yarn did you use for this project?
2 of 100g ball and 1 of 50g ball (250g) for each color
I loved the explanation ,thank you so much ❤ بارك الله فيك
I'm so glad you found it helpful

In the final result, the sleeves appear to have 4 squares across not 3 as in the video.
Did you add more?
i have the same question
yeah i’m scared to connect the sleeves 😭
This tutorial is brilliant !! Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Glad it was helpful!

This is really nice thank you❤❤ I just wanted to know how big each square you're making is? In terms of cm or feet
Each squares measures 15cm in height and width but if you end up with a rectangle it doesn't really matter
That was very adorable. Thank you for making this video! I'm gonna try it out myself. :)
Good luck 🍀
@@dexterousdorothy4691 Thank you!!
اليوم بديت بأول مربع😭
Keep going!!!
Yeah I noticed that too! Also didn’t even show where to attach everything and having to work it out myself is hard
Me when I accidentally made 21 hdc instead of 22: 😀⚰️
How many skeins of wool in total do you need? Three seems like top little help!
great video 😍😍 i'll try to make it for my bff, also can i ask how many balls of yarn do you used?
Just go for it it's worth it! As for the yarn, you'll need 250g of each color, which is equivalent to 5 balls of 50g yarn for each color
Hi! I love your tutorial so much💖 But I have a question. Can I use this crochet method for a single color cardigan??
Yes you can! And Thank you so much for your support
@@dexterousdorothy4691 😊💖💖
I have 1 question please can u answer it as fast as possible cuz i dont have time
Are the squares actually supposed to be squares or like can they be a little un even like one side is a little bigger than the other or do they have to be the same
Actually it doesn't matter if they don't look like straight squares because eventually they're gonna be sewed together which is going to even them up.
@@dexterousdorothy4691 thankyou so much for answering quickly it helped alot!❤
MashaAllah sister, thank you so much for this pattern
1) substracting 1 ligne vertically (column) and 1 ligne horizentally (row) from the back panel, which means you will only crochet 12 squares for the back panel (just look at the back panel and you'll get it), then substract 1 culumn and 1 row from the front pannel (make 12 squares for the front pannel), for the side pannels, substract one column and one row for each sleeve (make 12 squares for each sleeve) so in total you will crochet only 26 squares
2)or you can work with a thin yarn like #2 and a 3mm crochet hook (but still i'm not sure you would end up with a small cardigan anyway)
I really hope I was helpful
Hi thank u soooooo muchhhh. I really appreciate that u took some time responding inshallah I will make it starting today ❤
And I am will use double crochet not half double crochet is that ok?Thank u for ur time😊
Hi! May I ask how long you've been doing crochet?
I started at a very young age actually (since I was 12 ig) but I believe it's something you can learn at any given age if you're motivated enough
What size is the final result? I wanna know before I make a million squares 😅
Its a standard
Thanks for the great tutorial!❤
But I have some problems with making it because my squares turned out 10.5 cm because my stitches are so tight😅
The problem is that now i don't know what length do i make the ribbings or if i have to make more than 60 squares, so can you please tell me how to adjust the ribbing length according to the squares i have?
Actually its not a big deal, you can join all the squares first so you have an overall look of how your cardigan turned out, then you will make the middle ribbing according to the length of the front panel, the ribbing should start by the bottom right of the front panel, go all the way up to the neck line, follows it then go down to the bottom left, so I cant tell you the exact number of rows or cm, it depends on your cardigan, I wish I was helpful
@@dexterousdorothy4691thank you very much💖 don't know how I never thought of that😂✨️
Whats the size?
It's actually standard size because it's really oversized, to give you an idea on how it might look on you, I'm 5'5 tall and I weight 65kg
wonderful tutorial!!! may i ask if you still blocked your squares? and how many days in total did it take you to finish the project? thank yoi!!
How do you wash this? Do you hand wash or just what?
Thank you very much! ❤❤❤
@@dexterousdorothy4691 Tysm! One more question can you put buttons on the front trim?
Yes you can
Heyyy It looks so good I wanted to ask that how many yarns did you use?
I used 250g for each color (3 colors)
OK thank you very much !!!
can you tell me how many meters each skein of your yarn was?
You're very talented!!❤❤❤
How many yarn balls did you use please???
I used 5 ball of 50g for each color (250g) and thank you for your support
How long the yarn in meter? @@dexterousdorothy4691
How many skeins of yarn did you use? If using 100g of wool, how many rolls should I buy?
