I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I had to say just how much I enjoy this remix. I was late to getting into the Metroid franchise and Prime 3 holds a special place for me as it was the first of the games I completed. I remember initially struggling with the Rundas battle because I hadn't figured out the hypermode mechanic
Rundas was the first (and so far only) Metroid character that I sobbed when he died. It really does sound like he's trying to say something in the fight.
Deadass, I've been looking for Rundas battle remixes since at least 2014. I always love hearing new ones, so I'm surprised to be finding this song JUST NOW. THIS JOINT SLAPS! Well done.
I once read a comment on a TH-cam video of the original version of the song that said Rundas used the last of his consciousness to kill himself so Dark Samus doesn't take control.
Maybe he could see the whole fight through his eyes. With no capable strength of crying out or halting his actions. Upon defeat he chose sacrifice over subjugation. Honor to the end, Hero.
So this is by far the best remix to Rundas' battle theme that I've ever heard, and I've heard a number of great themes, two coming to mind immediately being Battle Against Rundas by Wingus Dingus and Rundas Remembered by HaunterShadow. This one though captures all of the elements of Rundas' boss theme, the tragic nature of his corruption, the melancholy piano solo to a hunter who was the most amiable and memorable to Samus out of all of the hunters, as well as the heroic, albeit slightly cocky nature of Rundas conveyed in the buildup of the remix itself. Then you ramped it back up with a hectic fighting feel after the solo. Very well done.
I'd love to see you guys return to this one with your updated repertoire. These re-arrangement skillz are legendary. [edit] The piano + high bells portion really hammers down the emotion. Love it. *Salutes Rundas* Forever in our hearts!
ah yes, the FPS of my childhood. (the only FPS of my childhood, mom was paranoid) but I loved it! Good job on this one! Emotion was tangible, and it brought back memories!
Dude, the synthesizer is just not on the same level as all the string instruments and the choir… kinda killed the vibe. I think you could do something less shrill for that specifically. The guitar part got to me though, really awesome.
I do agree about the synth, it and other elements could have been improved on. Me and my buddy were still new to composing when we threw this together, and I like to think we've both improved since then! So I'm glad you enjoy something about it!
@@soupandthunder6018 I would love having a section of this song on my intro to my videos. Of course, I'd link this channel on every video using it. If that'd be cool with you.
@@soupandthunder6018 Awesoooome! I went ahead and did it just in case you approved of it. You can see the intro to the video I made here: th-cam.com/video/DwSvVTPpVT0/w-d-xo.html You can notice the description has a link to your channel and to the video
"Justice will prevail, and all that good stuff. Right, Samus?"
Right you are, buddy... 😭
When Metroid made us cry.
only the ones who played or watched the game knows this song means
It means awesome, tragic, and more.
The reponse from admiral dane to rundas for quote: "then, it's a shame you weren't."
"If only I had been there"
Guess we have a name for the sequel song if it ever happens.

Big same, the game's got wonderful memories for me.
In his original song I always heard “Samus what’s the matter, Samus why are you crying?” He was such a hero and he suffered so horribly...

Can't believe I hadn't found this sooner, this is great, one of the best fan arrangements of this song.
Thanks, the song deserves it.

That is a consoling interpretation of Rundas' end which we too like to entertain. His silence in corruption hurt all the more.

I LOVE those compositions by Wingus Dingus and HaunterShadow! They, and other great takes on Rundas, really inspired the work here.

Thanks! There is a fair bit of cringing when listening to our older work, but it has been a while since the last time we did Rundas. Hmmm...
@@soupandthunder6018 You and me both. There's a reason my YT "career" started so late.
Anyhow, Rundas sure is a great source to return to for sure :3
Omg you did Rundas and I never knew.
Meet your channel bc of Freedom Planet but I also love Metroid very much
Thanks for listening! Funny enough, the origins of our work was smashing Metroid and FP tracks together.

Hey, Prime 3 was the first FPS I played too! And this boss song was our favorite piece from the track. Glad you like it!
phyrgisian funeral march
With a 21 ice missile salute.
It deserves way more views, it's damn good
Thanks!
I always appreciate remixes that add all new notes.
I agree, that's the kind of remixes I I like to make.
Wow that like to dislike ratio tho
Absolutely one of your best. Packed full of emotion and energy. Top notch.
Glad you liked it!

Great.mix overall, but I am a sucker for a sharp transition to a flowing piano.
Bonus points
I know what you mean, we loved that piano part so much it kinda kept going.
This is so sad.
Why?
Obra de arte 🎧👈🤙
I love this remix. What application did you use to make this?
We use FL studio 20, and EastWest plugins for a lot of instruments. Glad ya like it, hunter!
