@@Arcel98 I understand. The last few years I only played HD on 360 and on PS4. Yesterday I tried to play it on PS2 and damn, the graphics looks so low res. I that aspect didn't stand the test of time. But that was only beacuse the brain got used to the hi res graphics. 🧠

Re4 has a PERFECT gameplay loop. It doesn't matter what difficulty you choose, the game will always be challenging and unpredictable. You can play this game 1000 times and it will always feel tense and satisfying.

11 years since its release, and this game is still one of THE BEST video games I've ever played! Its atmosphere still gives me the shivers. One of the best horror-themed third person shooters ever made!

I love how this trailer is basically Capcom flexing. At the time, every single thing this trailer focused on was revolutionary. The partner and enemy AI, the over the shoulder aiming, the visuals, etc.
Literally lol they showed a lot in just this one trailer for back then it was cool tho.

It was new for the series, but nothing was really revolutionary for gaming in general.

I agree with you 100%. Man I LOVED RE4. 5 was decent but still a bit of a let down. And yes 6 was crap. The controls were garbage and it just didn't seem like they put near the time into like they did with this one. Man I really wanted to play something similar to RE4. 4 was so damn good. I so hope they can make something like it when they make 7. I'm praying.

carven2004eca well.... with that much hype it's bound to be a let down. I expected 5 to be a really bad game; however, I ended up enjoying it. I expected it to be a Halo 2 let down. As for 6.... 6 was a bad game but it made for a great movie!

When I was 5 years old this game was new and my dad took me to Wal-Mart to get me a game. I pointed at super Mario sunshine but being a stupid kid I pointed to this and didn't realize it. He said "Uhh...this game?" I nodded my head "...Are you sure?" I nodded faster "Okay..." then I ran off to look at other games while he paid and put it the bag, etc. We got home and I didn't say anything when I saw he had got the wrong game cuz I was really shy and didn't wanna cause a fuss. I played it and BARELY OVER THE COURSE OF 3 MONTHS made it to the village. I had nightmares every night about me being in that first cabin and gonados climbing in through the windows. My parents didn't think it was good for me to keep playing it and tossed it. Then a few years later when I had internet I was able to look up walkthroughs, bought the game for wii, then eventually ps3, and ps4 the day it released and RE4 is one of my favorites games to this day 👌
2020 update: Still love it, bought it for switch lol
2023 update: I loved the remake a ton lmao they left a couple parts out but I honestly think it stands on its own legs as its own thing if that makes any sense

The castle was one of the scariest places ever!! Deadly traps lurking around every corner!
I'm stuck at the moment. I have to go into the castle but knowing what's to come has me not ready to move forward. The castle is the worse part in my opinion 🙃

I remember this game getting a 9.6 on Gamespot (they were stricter with game reviews at the time) and was absolutely blown away by it because it was a rarity for Gamespot to give 9.0s and over back in the day, but anything over 9.5 was even rarer.
To get a 9.6 it meant that this game had the same prestige as titles such as Halo and Gears of War at the time of their releases.

The Remake is marvelous
This is one of the first games I saw the trailer for that actually delivered on almost everything it promised. Now it's considered one of the best video games of all time. This trailer brings back memories.

Yeah, the old games feel complete (and they are). Nowadays maybe games are better, but now game base feels like 60% or 70% of the game and the rest are DLC or expansion packs.
The 6th and 5th generation were amazing
I remember downloading this trailer at the time and watching it over and over again in anticipation for its release. I can't think of another game that lived up to the hype quite like RE4 did.
Its hard to think on one, this Game is still a good experience, incredibly replayable

Had so much memories playing this game as a kid, I remember when I'm fighting Salazar last form from the castle my little brother got a fever and nightmares from watching me play lool.

this game is fucking incredible. i just finished the remake and i was blown away. undeniably a 10/10 game, but it has made me want to go back and play the original even more :)
yes i miss being able to run through an open area without being grabbed from behind by an enemy and being stunlocked into a three hit combo
@@MyDigitalCult i mean, you can do it with ease in the remake, just need to dodge a little and not to run past in a straight line, I'm in Ng+ already and I've been doing this though all my Ng+ till the end of the castle, being working so far.

I remember playing this game when I was younger. I couldn't really beat that many levels and I was scared of the villagers.

I remember being so fucking scared to play this and while playing it as a kid. It used to blow my mind that it was a 2 part disc set because the game had so much to offer. This game truly gave me a brand new perspective on horror and helped me get over my irrational fear of the entire genre both movie and games. This game will forever be in my top 10 favorite games of all time.
They only showed the village section, no one imagined the game had so much more content.

ilbv5 And RE5 had dope graphics. Didn't think it was nearly as good of a game as RE4 but it did include co-op which is fucking awesome. RE4 is the best resident evil followed by RE7. However, I've never played the resident evil revelations. I heard it's the same 3rd person perspective. I gotta play those.

Sometimes I wish I could play the unfinished versions of a video game to experience it in a new way. Even this trailer shows ideas and some voice clips that ultimately weren't used in the final version of Resident Evil 4.

People who downplay the importance of graphics should remember this game more often. Its a hard fact that had this game not featured unbelievably believable graphics to support its premise, it would not have become the classic that it is. I got chills with these visuals. It was a rare case where every single detail was drawn to express a remarkable experience. Technology was at full artistical service of a higher purpose on this game. Memorable, to say the least.

Still have it since 2005 and it aged very well.and now I enjoyed the Reimagining in 2023.
To the people who weren’t there, the suspense for release was next level. Some were excited for the changes, some were very hesitant. The hype was real but was always met with that bit of hesitation. However, after it was released, I didn’t know a single person who didn’t enjoy RE4. It wasn’t the same RE and some people were not for the changes, but most knew from the beginning that they were playing something very special.
I dont think (correct) I know that there will never be a game as great, consistently made, magnificently put together in story, gameplay, graphics, music EVERYTHING. Best horror game of all time. I think it twice before playing it at night. Try playing the "regenerators" chapter at night alone and you'll know the true meaning of fear my friends.

Of course the first time the regenerators are ugh but yeah, the game is rather action than horror, not entirely and it can still get scary because this is not RE5+ but yeah
If this game scares you than you got to be the biggest pussy on the planet. Play forbidden siren 1 and 2 for ps2 then come back (not that ps3 version crap).

I did lie in the original comment though (^: I never had the game on GameCube, only on Wii. I did eventually play it on GC/Ps2 and PC, but the way the Wii version controls is still the best of 'em all.

The gamecube was ahead of it's time. Capcom released the RE 1 remake, RE 4 and RE 0 on it and they were the most beautiful games on the console in my opinion. The remake of RE 1 was a masterpiece they haven't been able to replicate till the remake of RE 2.

I remember I saw this trailer on a disc that came with a game magazine back in 2004 and couldn't believe my eyes. I used to watch it over and over until I finally got the game in 2005 and it did not dissappoint. It is my all time favourite game.
