Considering how much GW has leaned on the ability to Proxy and how much "Make your own" has been baked into the community and warhammer DNA since day one, I think that GW trying to fight 3d printing is a doomed endeavor. The fact that Buying a 3d printer and the resin and doing it yourself is so much cheaper feels more of a condemnation of GW's own hiked prices, and it feels like digging in their heels instead of pivoting in some way is a losing fight.

You say that. But it requires a shed or garage.
Anyone who lives in a flat or has kids who can’t be around nasty chemicals and fumes can’t do it.
Also the majority of GW profits come from the buy in from new players. 3D printing is something people graduate to.

I personally like what StationForge makes. Especially printed by Wargame Exclusive (and what they make themselves). Deserves a shoutout (I assume neither party minds to be named in a YT comment). Also remember everyone: nobody has to invest in a 3D printer. Not only do some of these creators sell the miniatures printed directly, they might have partners that print and sell their designs. Otherwise if just buy the STLs, there's a high chance that in your country there's several parties specialized in taking printing orders, some are even specialized in 3D printing for tabletop games. You absolutely don't need a 3D printer yourself to make use of the 3D printing advantage.
Lastly: I know GW gets quite a lot of schtick these days, but, remember that they do keep the games alive that we like. If you like stuff they pump out, don't shy from supporting them.

3D printing has actually gotten me to visit my local gaming shop more, I've spent hundreds on paints, primers, basing material, tools & brushes, and *especially* carrying cases and foam. If I plan to spend 200 bucks on my hobby, I am spending 200 bucks on the hobby. The only difference is now I'm investing in the actual hobby instead of miniatures.
I also know how to do 3D modeling so there's the added bonus of being able to do unique and one-of-a-kind prints that only I have (unless I share STLs).

Perfect example is my Monster Hunter Marines project. Personally I'm more interested in the growth of alternative hard plastic kits from Wargames atlantic, stargrave etc, many of which look great when combined with 40k parts. Some just prefer plastic for kitbashing, ease of use and price.

I support any alternative to GW, but I'm a little confused for your reasoning. Spend an afternoon in blender tutorials and you have limitless kitbashing potential with 3d printing that plastic can't offer, print only whole models and modeling becomes easier (or don't if you still want to construct them) and 3d printing has long been cheaper than GW prices at least.
If you just like plastic then more power to you, though I think it comes with more downsides in favor of personal taste than 3d printing instead of the inverse.
3d printing already has the price advantage over mass manufactured plastic. The last hurdle it has to overcome is convenience.

The little modular scrap tanks from Morkaks Foundry look really good. Not really into non GW plastics generally, and 3d prints vary in quality. But there are exceptions. The one company I do buy a lot of Guard bits from is Anvil Industries. Their guard sized bionic arm kits look tremendous on both the old Militarum sculpts and the newer Cadian kits.

Across the realms has a few good models but a lot of them are.. rough.
Some alternatives I can recommend that I didn't see you mention:
Solwyte - tons of vehicles for marines, admech and knights
Pipermakes - amazing tau and eldar
    Diverging realms - neat custodes/sos
Puppetswar has some neat stuff nowadays
Some really high quality stuff out there nowadays. Honestly surprised gw hasn't started selling stls by this point

3D printing is all well and good but the most important part is rarely discussed. Those things pump out an unhealthy amount of VOC's. It's been shown on other TH-cam videos that even a room with full air circulation still has poor air quality. If you want to be safe with these things don't use them in your house. Put them in a shed or garage. It really needs to be emphasized and not an after thought in a conversation.
