Steve Waugh is All time Great!
One of the Greatest test Captain of All time.
Australia won 44 Test out of 56 under Waugh.

What a legend! My hero from childhood into adulthood, Steve Waugh was my favourite player as a kid long before he became captain. That day I remember my family jumping for joy as he hit that last ball, pure elation that the champion still had it in him and could silence his critics… namely the selectors. 40,000 people at the SCG wanting it, last ball of the day and he delivers. Greatest moment.

Loved the sportsmanship of the poms. They all knew they'd be a part of something special and acknowledged his achievement.

For me, his greatest innings was in the West Indies, 1995 where he scored a double ton. I recall how he was he was mercilessly attacked by their pacemen, namely Curtly Ambrose and was covered in bruises in his was to his stellar score which pretty much won Australia the match. True grit personified. Man of the match and series.

One of those ‘where were you when…’ moments. I’ll never forget watching that innings from a true champion of the game in every aspect of it. Thanks for the memories Stephen Waugh, one of the best of the best.

Sitting in the lounge room at 105 sunderland drive banksia beach bribie island. Exact same seat I was in when Alfie langer returned from England for Queensland. Won’t forget that.

In my back shed in Adelaide, nervously pacing listening to the ABC with Aggers & Skull describing the dramatic finale. Then dashing inside to see on TV what my ears couldn’t believe. My favourite Captain and a hero despite being much the same age.

Absolutely one of those moments, and one that rival almost all others of the same description. Watching it in The Club Hotel in Gladstone will be a forever memory, place was packed and everyone roared then toasted it for many hours after.

No wonder they were trendsetters of that era. They played with & for each other. Steve Waugh is one of the most inspirational sportsperson worldwide who lead them in such a top manner. Its so nice to see a legend Gilly giving another legend Waugh the respect he deserves.

Missed the good old days of Channel Nine’s summer of cricket. Whatever happened to the good old days of Nine’s summer of cricket? Nine did an amazing job at producing the Summer of cricket and we were able to watch all forms of cricket live.

Cometh the man, Cometh the hour.
The will, determination, and drive were at the highest level.
When Steve came out to bat, everyone knew to watch out because he was in it to the end.
Steve is easily a legend of cricket.
Thank you for the memories 😁

I remember in the lead up to that game, the press were on his back, suggesting that he shouldn't be in the team. If there was ever a hundred under pressure, Steve Waugh's was it.
