The police found in the shooters notes that he had violent thoughts towards all the members of the band and had the opportunity presented itself, any one of them would have been the victim. It just so happened that Dimebag was the easiest to get to.

@@michaelbuettner1487 that’s 100% true. There’s so many facts that people don’t know. For instants the metal hammer 2004 edition that everybody tries to blame phil over saying some words off the record but they some who ended up “front page news” just to push pointless media nonsense; sound familiar? That metal hammer magazine, actually came out on December 4, 2004 in the United States. It was actually only available in Columbus Ohio by December 6, 2004. Only 2 days before 12/8/04.
That would have only left a couple days, now deducting time for sleep and normal other daily tasks, there would’ve been a 12 hour window on December 7 or eighth that he would’ve even had the opportunity to possibly stop at a gas station, already upset over the band, breaking up Had already chosen sides, who was at fault or to blame went to put some gas in walk down quickly saw said magazine and it sent him over the edge into a panic induced rage? Who knows 🤷‍♂️
There’s no proof that that magazine ever even officially made it into Nathan’s hands. We already know that he was obsessed with the band for years since 1999 according to his notebook. He would listen to them before football practice. As early as 2001 that notebook says he was writing down that Pantera was stealing his thoughts. That’s right, he believe that the songs were his ideas and his alone. Some ppl blamed Phillip..
I’m sure by 2005 we would’ve had the most epic pantera record ever known to man. Every single record just got more unbelievably heavier and heavier. That night destroyed, countless fans, dreams hopes, memories, directions of music, not only the seven people that were inside the Al Roosa Villa/ EVEN the police officer, James niggemayer had to quit the force and has been in PTSD induced, depression and therapy ever since Nathan Gale like many strikes when it’s dark, a cowards act sad😢 rip darrell

@@shaneculkin7124 well I know this is a year old thread that’s still pretty ridiculous, though it was just pointless media drama being pushed to sell magazines. If personal friends have said something that they regret, that’s between them to decide that really. If we’re still trying to cling onto media drama I mean seriously guys come on.
The police officer james had to quit the fourth and has been in therapy and dealing with depression and PTSD ever since. It was like what’s seven lives lost that night, including Darrell. It changed so much. It really did such a sad day.
The thing is though that metal hammer 2004 Dec. edition that everybody speaks of didn’t come out UNTIL December 4, 2004. I’ve done the research it was not even available in Columbus Ohio until December 6, 2004 that morning. So if you deduct time for sleep and normal daily schedules that would’ve left what?? A 12 hour window, between 12-07 and 12-08, 2004 that Nathan Gale would’ve had the opportunity to unintentionally run into that magazine.
There’s no proof that he went to put gas into his tank at a gas station, walked in the store, looked down and saw that magazine. Then it sent them into a panic induced Rage. Actually, he had a diary at home as early as 2001 he was writing that he thought pantera was stealing his thoughts. That’s right.
Had he had already chosen size who is the blame for the break up of the band and was already upset for years leading to this moment and then somehow unintentionally saw that magazine within the 12 hour window that it was available before the mascara? Not sure there’s never been any proof that that magazine even reached his hands. So this is just pointless media drama as always would still happens to this day trying to be dug up just like this video to get more views. Grow up here really SAD. I’m sure at some moment in our lives. Every single person in the world has said some thing that you immediately regret or wish you had phrase better. Now imagine your entire life is on a microscope you’re a multi millionaire musician and your band hasn’t done music in a couple years. People are going to be wondering why and if there is some kind of dirt, they’re gonna wanna dig it up so they can sell the magazine quicker. Think about it

It’s crazy cause on “behind the music” Phil acknowledges his influence on the fans saying something like “I could tell the crowd to get naked and have an orgy and they’d probably do it” or something along those lines and superjoint ritual did play alrosa villa some months prior to damageplan so who’s to say gale wasn’t there and Phil being Phil at the time could of been talkin shit and hatin I mean if he was making “tounge and cheek” comments (as he puts it) to journalist around same time it’s probably more than likely he could have made similar remarks hangin backstage also I remember at a DOWN show here In minneapolis rex was especially paranoid (rightfully so) of fans walking up to him for anything ,pics auto etc. i seen a rare side of him as he flipped out an tell two young cats off wich l completely understand,it affects friends and family even long after the tragedy but I’d also be lieng if I said I wasn’t thinking “ does he know something we don’t and being around Phil maybe amplified that paranoia, who knows but regardless it’s just sad such things would even be a matter of possibility but even listening to some of Phil’s lyrics nowadays from G.S , Reinventing T.S an superjoints second album makes you wonder if some were in regards to their beef or his deep down opinions of dime, so I could understand someone a lot closer to Phil than I feeling that way in a sense but, that’s just my opinion

If it were me in Rex's shoes after having seen what happened to Dime, I'd be walking around in a bullet-proof vest whenever I went out of the house. People who want to blame Phil for Dime's murder overlook what the official investigation said motivated Nathan Gale, a belief that Phil Anselmo and/or Pantera were reading his mind and 'stole' his ideas, or in other words a classic case of schizophrenia. Whatever it was that set him off is practically irrelevant because we're not talking about a rational individual with a discernible motive. It's more likely Gale, in my opinion, had been planning for the attack well in advance.

The idea is that the band status went way down with Damageplan. With that comes lesser security, lesser (smaller) venues to play at etc. All in all its not anywhere near the status that PanterA held. This opens the door to what happened to Dime. That's what Vinny is saying. Phil fucked around with the band, avoided them for a year. As a result, that put the brothers in a potentially bad position with the new band they had to create. & we all know what happened next...

Yep. That’s 100% true. He had actually already caused problems at that same venue and was known to be hanging out outside trying to get in without a ticket. So he was already on their radar. They just didn’t do anything about it. He had a diary at home as early as 2001 he was writing that he thought the band was stealing his thoughts and ideas. He was a complete lunatic already obsessed with the break up for couple years leading to this moment. That metal hammer December 2004, article that everybody tries to blame Phil for saying something off the record that somehow ended up front page news just to sell the stupid magazine, it didn’t even come out until four days before a dime played that damage planned show. The first day that magazine was available in the states was December 4, 2004. It wasn’t even available in Columbus Ohio until December 6, 2004. So he would’ve only had a 12 hour window if you did that time for sleep and normal daily schedules unintentionally run into that magazine and say at a gas station or somewhere. Is it possible he was already upset and somehow saw that magazine at the gas station and it sent him over the edge? Maybe not sure it HAS NEVER BEEN PROVEN. What has been proven now is as early as 2001 he wrote in the diary he was obsessed over the break up an already blaming the band for stealing his thoughts.
That sounds like someone who’s had motive for a very long time before that article came out. We’ve all said things at some time in our life we regret or wish we phrased differently. Esp to our closest so grow up everyone and respect Darrell’s and Vinnie legacies!

Well hell man in that case going by those standards we all are indirectly responsible for someone dying or getting hurt or some other bad shit. I don't believe Phil wanted either of them dead but either way just because you possibly say/said some fucked up shit doesn't mean you're responsible for a mentally ill psycho's actions. As far as I know nobody actually thinks Phil paid someone to hurt anyone. You're talking about a massive gray area to judge from if we went by that logic. There has to be some matter of fact, black and white area of reasoning to instill that kind of blame and responsibility on to another individual. Idk that just doesn't seem very fair, even if Phil is a complete asshole, he didnt kill dimebag

They should've never been in that hole in the wall club. Phil walked away from Pantera and the brothers had to start over from scratch. When they should've been in stadiums behind multiple layers of security they were at a place with next to no security. When you see your brothers brains on your drum kit you can say something about how Vinnie felt. Im not saing what I think...im repeating what Vinnie said himself. Call this reunion, tribute, cover band whatever you want but its not Pantera. Vinnie MAY have done something with the catalog but you can be sure he would never have had Phil in that lineup. #NobrothersNoBand

When you have a massive fan base and Phil has said it in an interview that he has a huge fan base and they'll do anything that he wants them to do and you wish Daryl beatin severely right there he's spitting out anger about the breakup and the guy's motive it's already been said he was upset about the breakup of Pantera ,I mean it doesn't take a genius to figure it out You just don't say s*** like that when you have that kind of power. You have to be responsible with choosing your words wisely when you're that big, and he didn't. What's messed up is we'll never know but had he not left the band and went on to do that interview with metal hammer Daryl might still be alive. I bet there's not a day that goes by that Phil thinks about that and he's got to live with it I'm sure that's part of the reason why he's out playing Pantera again cuz he realized he had such a good thing with them and he messed it up. And then with Vinnie passing he had no closure there and that's got to suck I don't care how much money you got That's got to hurt cuz he opened his door to Vinny plenty of times and tried to make amends because he knew he could have very well been responsible for that what a shame. Rex is just in denial because he left the band with Phil so he's got a part in it too. He's telling himself that so he can feel better about it but he knows too He's just trying to put a Band-Aid on Phil's comments. He reminds me of a coward a follower two-faced. Funny thing is if Dime did see this tour happening from the guitar heavens or wherever it may be I'm sure he would approve cuz he was just that good of a person👿

Dude was a verified schizophrenic that thought Pantera stole songs from him and he was the rock god of the century. Maybe the pantera breakup is what pushed him over the edge but that doesn’t even indirectly make the blame go to anyone else

Ok I’m obviously not an insider but this is my rough estimate of the whole Pantera breakup thing.
Just a very messy situation caused by bad communication from all parties that sadly led to Dimes passing by the hand of some mentally ill piece of shit. All they had to do was to sit around a table and talk about what the future holds for each of them and the band and make a statement to the fans so they would’ve been up to speed and not left to wonder about what’s going on.
Phil wanted to take a break from the ridiculous amount of touring Pantera did for 10 years straight and I totally get that with his back and drug problems that had been going on for years at that point. He really sacrificed his health for Pantera.
The statements he made in interviews that may have flipped a switch in some nutjobs brain were just to piss off the brothers and even tho it was stupid he really could’ve never known what it could possibly lead to so he’s not to be blamed at all for Dimes death.
I also understand Vinnies stand as the grief and anger from losing his brother had to be channeled somehow and he channeled it on an easy targer in Phil. It’s not right but totally understandable.
May the brothers rest in peace❤️
